If I was in his position and I would at least regret what I did to my family just a little bit... I think I would consider myself as a "monster" and I would want myself to get punished for what I did. Sounds maybe strange but this could be a way to deal with your guilty conscience. What I learn from his statements is that (at least at the moment) that he has none. It's all about him not about the lifes he destroyed. So his reputation still seems very important to him as if he had no other sorrows to deal with... sounds really narcissistic (although I'm not a friend of all this suddenly appeared online diagnoses). Anyway his "new story" would be interesting to hear but I think he would have a hard time anyone to convince to believe him!
From his preening in the interviews he conducted with the media, it appears that to CW the greatest concern is what people think of him and his spiffy new shirt. New links posted above also indicate that he is rather indignant that people "internationally" are dissing him. Tsk Tsk. Was he expecting a Nobel Prize after what he did? SMH. No mention of how horrified he is with his own behavior. No remorse, just pure selfishness about HIS feelings. Just anger that he's being "misunderstood". The WAAAHmbulance is on standby!!

Chris Watts Is Mad About How Media Portrays Him, Says Source: 'He Feels Like No One Understands Him'

Wow, he really does fit the Family Annihilator profile to a tee. I had read that they continue to feel that they are somehow the victim, that they are misunderstood, and never feel accountable for what they have done. You would think he would be despondent about the fact that his children are dead! But no, he stews about his own image, about his victimhood, about how somehow this was done to him. Just incredible.

I think he may have fantasized about it too, I think his five weeks of freedom combined with the affair is significant to this case. He didn’t want his family anymore.
The irony. CW wanted his freedom and was willing to kill for it. In reality he was caught and will likely NEVER see freedom again (fingers crossed). Brings to mind that saying "CW thought he was hot stuff in a wineglass but he's just a cold f@rt in a Dixie cup. MOO. Hope the word f@rt is not against TOS!

I know Chris' twitter account is private in the last week or two, but when it was still public and had been mentioned in earlier threads, it showed he had liked or retweeted (forget which) a stupid Pittsburgh Steelers tweet on the very first night that Shanann and the girls had "vanished" and he had stayed in his earth shattering ghost town house alone. It feels like he was not even traumatized by what he had done, or how he had ended up in this position and feeling any shock or remorse. Nope, he's scrolling on Twitter liking sports posts about his favorite football team.

That’s actually a very good point. If this was completely premeditated, she’s dead minutes after walking in that door.

Factoring in cleanup and preparing the bodies for transportation, he’d still have time left over. He most likely wouldn’t be “sitting around thinking” for an extended period of time.

This isn’t enough to pull me off the fence, but it does “move the needle” slightly.
Maybe he waited for her to fall asleep. Or maybe he had to mentally work himself up to do it. Hard to know the mind of a killer. Jmo

Yes, it does seem to point to the killer's desire for immediate gratification. IMHO, contemplating the gratification he assumed he'd feel when he was "free" of his family was a big enough dopamine rush and worth the risk to compel him to turn his plan into reality. The idea of sewing his wild oats no matter the consequences. In the beginning of this horror I thought it was a spontaneous crime, i.e. a crime of passion. Now I think he fantasized and thought of the freedom scenario until it overtook his rational thinking. The interviews are so indicative that this was premeditated. MOO
Also it seems like the perfect time to do it. She was away and he was there with the kids. I think he killed them before she got home just because it was easier that way. Jmo

I wonder if CW is missing his little girls. He has to, right? How can he not?
In order to murder his little girls he likely has no empathy and is cruel and cold, I don't think he's missing them or why would he have destroyed them so horrifically? He killed them IMHO, and his only remorse is that "CW's Operation Freedom" backfired SPECTACULARLY. MOO.

It's a big story in Ireland too. He's internationally famous (or infamous) whether he likes it or not
I'll bet he never thought that he'd have notoriety tainting his name forever. He was hoping to portray the grieving husband and daddy, basking in sympathy, casseroles and hot women throwing themselves at him. UGH!!!!!!!:mad:

No way to know, really. We know that he's reportedly concerned about his image though, which matches what the Thayers said in their interview.

“He’s very frustrated,” the source says. “He didn’t know that everyone knows about this case.”

“He feels like no one understands him, and nobody knows what happened,” says the source. “He thinks if they did understand, they’d realize that he’s not the monster everyone says he is.”
