The picture of the covered doll has always haunted me. I remember back when this began; many claimed SW took the picture. I never believed that for a second. I always felt CW sent it to her. And now we know he did. That is what a sick evil mind does. Ironic that his dad brought it up to detectives to "prove" something was wrong with SW (he said she took the pic) and CW sits there and never corrects his dad that he took the picture.

CW certainly planned all of this. This was no act of "rage" IMO he started planning while she was gone to NC. Then when he visited he was even more sure. He wanted the insurance money, house money etc and no child support. A clean slate for his NK. He thought he had days to stage the house. That is why he left her purse etc. Thank God it didn't turn out that way or he may have gotten away with it

Just an FYI all USPS post offices will be closed Wed in honor of President Bush.

#5 is especially important to me.

In the course of an argument that escalated to violence, there would at the very least be wounds on the bodies of atleast one of them.

Scratches, bruising, something.

She only suffered bruising on her neck from strangulation.

With everything else we know, I think the most likely scenario is that this was a previously planned act of murder.

She never saw it coming.
Agree!

I can't make out all of the RW interview either, but I'm pretty sure it's from before any of the bodies were found or Chris "confessed" to him. I get the feeling he's still thinking she may have gotten mad and run off? It sounds like the version of the whole nut story he heard was that one grandkid got an ice cream out of the freezer, Cece saw it and wanted it and Shanann went off on Grandma Watts screaming that she was trying to kill her kid? (And I don't know what actually happened, and if maybe she was a little extra volatile with pregnancy hormones and a cheating husband and everything else going on). And then would not allow the kids to see those grandparents again at all.

Also there was some story about her forgetting power ranger masks for another grandkid's party and driving 3 hours one way then back again to get them? I don't know. I can see how she may have come off as a little scary intense and perfectionist at times to his family so I feel like giving them some slack for the things they're saying, especially when they weren't looking at the mounds of evidence we are now. I am NOT saying she in any way deserved to be killed for that much less those kids.

Maybe just maybe she sensed the grandmother/sister-in-law didn't care if her kids died from eating nuts? I think that would set anyone off. She knew they were crazy.

I wonder if SW ever had nightmares that CW would try to kill her? Or have any idea he was capable of it?

I think at the end she was starting to worry. She sent those texts saying she didn't feel safe for herself and Nico with CW acting like he was. But then he fooled her at the end by pretending he was going to go to counseling etc. Breaks my heart.

Burying her doesn't make sense, in that he could have buried the girls with her. I think that possibly with the late flight, his plan changed. IMO he would have found a way to add her to the oil tanks so that there was zero chance of someone coming across their bodies (animal digging up bones) but he ran out of time. It is too morbid to take this line of thought any further but I think a couple parts of his plan changed and I think that is one of them. Leaving her body in a shallow grave just doesn't quite fit with the thorough, cruel method he used to dispose of his little girls. I think he thought it thru to the point of putting them in separate tanks so that there wouldn't be as much sediment in the oil of each tank - not sure if they test for that but surely there must be some sort of purity checks?

Agree. The shallow grave was probably because he ran out of time. But, in order to get CW into a tank, wouldn't he have had to dismember her? The openings are only 8 inches in diameter...

I would think that even the oil tanks are not a smart place to dispose of the bodies. Sooner or later, the bodies will be discovered, and the location will point directly at Chris...

Aug 9 (Thursday) that we are postulating he was openly showing signs that he was chosing to “fix his problem” by removing his family.

What was going on with NK and CW that week or that prior weekend?

Did NK say anything about their plans for the upcoming weekend of Aug 11-12? Or about the timeframe AFTER Monday Aug 13?

Do we have any LE evidence of texts between them around that time?

These are some texts between CW and NK that were recovered from NK's phone (Discovery pages 694-695):

He tells her she deserves a pay increase on July 26th.
He mentions something about the Rockies game they didn't go to on Aug 10th
He calls her his "sexy empanada" on Aug 11. o_O (gross)
She apparently told him she went to an IMAX movie on Sunday Aug 12th while he took Bella and CeCe to the birthday party (I thought NK later said in interviews with investigators she went to a museum?)

More texts between NK and CW from June and July:

On Jun 29 he tells her "I'm still going to see you! It won't be as often as we like but I will make it happen. You think I'm the only one addicted right now? I'm so hooked on you"

It seems like there are texts missing in these chains. Perhaps some were deleted and not recoverable? JMO.

Yeah, I'm not comfortable thinking too deeply about it. It just doesn't make sense to have them so spaced out. Given more time, he could have kept them together. He was taking a risk, out digging a hole when his wife was planned to go missing; people would have remembered that if they'd come a few minutes earlier. He is so, so sick.

I doubt it. That doesn’t appear to be his style.

His abuse was more covert.

maybe, but we have no idea what he may have said in anger. The neighbors reported CW's was yelling a lot at SW lately.
I dated an MNP/psychopath he'd be chatting to friends one moment then pinch me and threaten to have me "disappear" if I said anything to embarrass him at a social event. He was very quiet everyone one thought he was nice, quiet, thoughtful nice guy. Little did they know behind closed doors has sadistic and would fly into rages at a drop of hat. He would also joke and send funny photos often of women killed by angry bf's.

I wish she followed her intuition but how many people think their spouse will kill them?

I agree. I'd add that in the interviews it seems as if NK is using the interviewer as a foil for working through the shock of what CW has done, and her own possible (if unwitting)culpability in it. She may or may not be vacuous, selfish, pleasure-seeking, or whatever in how she approached the affair, but I honestly don't see any indication that a) she played a role in disposing CW to murder his family or b) takes any satisfaction in it.

Beginning and continuing the affair was undoubtedly a crappy thing to do -- but millions of people do it, every day, without finding themselves caught up in multiple murder. I don't think she was involved beyond that, and I don't think LE does either (despite the parenthetical comments in the discovery docs about her repeated internet *advertiser censored* searches and "eerie giggle") -- another parallel, IMO, with the Coleman family murders.
Creepy! It's a creepy giggle!!! I feel like the author of that part of the report chose their words very deliberately and specifically.

I wish she followed her intuition but how many people think their spouse will kill them?

Me too. If only she had known that pregnant women are especially high risk to be murdered by a partner in the USA. She may have listened to her intuition. I just can't even imagine the hell her family is going through. How does a person get through something like this?

I wish she followed her intuition but how many people think their spouse will kill them?
She was kind of busy, what with being main caretaker for 2 little girls, working through her own illnesses to ensure that both she and another baby were healthy, cleaning house, cooking, running a home business while quite probably making more $$ than her hubby who had time after work to get in a few quickies and whole camping trips when she wasn't around. She must have felt really terrible, mentally, after he came to NC and was so distant and psychologically cruel to her. But imagining he would brutally murder all of them? She didn't have time to worry to that extent.

I wish she followed her intuition but how many people think their spouse will kill them?
I don’t think that she genuinely believed her life was in any danger. From those text messages, it is clear that she was trying to save her marriage.

She wasn’t trying to escape, she was trying to get CW to stay.

Staging the crime scene is a noob mistake

The act of staging always points back at the relationship between murderer and victim

It seems murder increased his appetite rather than diminished it.

NK told LE she couldnt remember what she did on Aug 12 then she said she went to a museum (not specified). The Denver Natural History Museum has an IMAX theater. It sounds as if the IMAX movie she went to was about the Dead Sea Scrolls? I don’t know how to access what would have been their schedule for that Sunday, Aug 12

Yes NUA what a wonderful friend. And the neighbor. They didn't stay quiet. They both trusted their gut and spoke out. Lesson to all. Go with your instincts. As far as the covered doll goes I think it part of his enjoyment. He loved torturing poor Shanann. Evident by his coldness, constantly keeping her off balance as to what the problem was. Then just when she thinks there is hope he goes in for the kill. Literally. IMO the girls were killed before Shanann got home. Her plane was late. He was on a timeline. Why would he wait?? I wonder if we will even find out where the strong cleaning smell came from. What part of the house and what testing showed. All my opinion of course.

Lovely friends and neighbours.:):):)
We need them.
Yesterday, a neighbour, came knocking on my door: worried as hadn't seen me about for weeks.
Similarly another neighbour did similar.
It is just, I changed my routines, due to convenience, and it was noticeable to caring friends.

With CW's neighbour, he voiced, CW never loaded truck, CW wasn't talkative and normally didn't explain away as when watching the video, his swaying motions highlighted and neighbour noted past 'screaming' at SW by CW.
An entire clear picture has evolved.:)
Very observant.

We all know how great NUA has been, and am looking forward to her interviews and those of Cassie: great friends.

This was quite confusing to me to be honest and as a pretend juror, I think this video is actually pro-CW. It does look like he's just loading his tools for the day. The truck is very visible yet no hint of the bodies. I'm just assuming there's more footage that MSM isn't releasing and we haven't seen since the discovery was pulled.
Jay had 23 videos of the car, I watched them all and didn't see anything except the gas can. They are gone now.

What was his plan on them missing? Was the car to remain in the garage? Their security would become mysteriously disabled? She ran off with?????
I think in his mind he was going to "take care of some things" when he got home from work that day. NUA stopped ALL of that in its tracks. As dumb as he is though, most likely anything he would have tried would have ended in the same result. Him going to prison for the rest of his life.
