@sk716 Thank you. I'm flattered, and this recording would be a good addition to the Morphew soundtrack. But Radio Station WS operates only intermittently now. The current DJ/announcer (--> me <--) can't seem to correctly fulfill listeners' music requests.;)

Maybe another member would assemble this case's soundtrack? Anyone? TiA.
Well, I've had Chris Whitley's "Ball Peen Hammer" as an earworm for a couple of days now ...

Are you familiar with an old blues song called "In the Pines"?

It has to go on the Morphew Soundtrack if @al66pine is keeping up.

That is actually an OLD (1800s) bluegrass/Appalachian song. Seems there are a few old songs about murdering women, like "Pretty Polly". It's disturbing actually that that was subject matter for songs.

But for beautiful Suzanne, "Go Rest High on that Mountain" by Vince Gill needs to be on the playlist.

I feel so much better after reading the Prosecution's response. Justice for Suzanne.

Grusing is a profiler, and he had Barry fill out a questionnaire developed by the FBI's behavioral analysis unit.

Barry told SA Grusing that he thought Suzanne was abducted by someone. SA Grusing explained that the last similar violent act that occurred in the Salida area happened in 1980. Barry was informed of the time of day Suzanne was riding, the low-traffic area, her minimal exposure in the community and other low-risk factors and stabilizers in her life. SA Grusing told Barry this looked like an "intimate partner homicide" and Barry did not object.

There's this funny episode of "The Office" when the CEO (Kathy Bates) is trying to figure out who a leaker is. She questions people, knowing that those who recommend the harshest punishment are probably innocent and those who recommend something lenient are guilty:

"When Mamma was working as a prison guard, and something went missing, she'd ask one question. What do we do when we find the guilty party? And if they said come down on them with that swift hammer of justice. Innocent. A clear conscience don't need no mercy. But if they said, Officer Bessy, well they may have had a reason, blah, blah, blah. Well nine times out of ten, that's the anus they check."

Barry does something similar:

SA Grusing asked Barry why he only wrote "Convict" for his response on what should happen to the person responsible for Suzanne's disappearance. He replied, "It should be 'convicted and held responsible.' I mean that's not what I wanted to write but, I mean I, inside me, I feel like I would like to physically harm them if they did this to my wife, that's, but."

It looks like profiling might not enter the trial. I'm OK with that. I'm a huge fan of profiling when trying to solve serial murder cases, but much less so in individual cases since it relies too much on things that may not be fact based and too much on generalizations about behavior that may not be true when someone is under stress or in crisis. I think it can be helpful tool for investigators who are trying to solve a complex crime, but doesn't have a place in trials. My opinion only...clearly others may have differing opinions.

It's been allowed in countless serial killer trials, but yes, I agree that in cases like this it shouldn't be admissible.

Its value here was that it helped Grusing figure Barry out, and guided his actions and questions later on.

Earlier than that I think, it's a very old folk song that made it's way down to the Mississippi Delta and back up again. It's also recorded under the title "Where Did You Sleep Last Night?" Nirvana covered it under that title for the Unplugged show.

There have always been songs about killing. Going all the way back into ancient history, songs were recounting battles and great deeds. Killin'. I think it's along a similar vein of the original fairy tales (seriously disturbing stuff by modern standards.) and what we do here, stare evil and horrors in the face from a place of safety.

I don't think Suzanne can rest until she's found and her girls know what happened to her.

Agree, it's a good investigative tool for sure. Like said earlier, defense is dotting the "i" and crossing the "t" on this case clearly from the list of all the motions in the court document...the trial is just around the corner in legal timelines. I saw one motion regarding the use of certain words like "murder'....they are, if nothing, thorough in their legal documentation. They must have someone that generates motions 24/7 LOL for them on an active case. The writing alone! I noticed two typos in dates on the prosecution motions response yesterday makes me kind of feel sorry for them and I saw Dan Edwards asked to be removed. I've lost count of the prosecutors on this case.

Did some work on the Prosecutions exhibits. Any relevant info from the PH where the image was admitted has been added as a caption. Mostly the texts and hotel images. One of the admitted images never made it into the PDF, #24.
The pics are still huge click the not an X but looks like one on the pop-up and the huge original will open.

Fresh eyes on the exhibits. I know I’m gender stereotyping here, but I’m looking at MM1’s bed. If you were going to wash sheets, would you just pull the duvet/comforter to a corner and off the bed? Or would you sort of fold it down to the foot of the bed, or even just fold up the stuff and put it on the ottoman or somewhere? Maybe it’s me, it doesn’t look like someone who is used to changing sheets or making beds did it. Seems like a lot of extra steps if you do it that way. This comes from someone who throws towels and sheets in with whatever to wash stuff, and never met an iron that I liked.

Nice! Much easier to look at the images. I'm not quite sure where they got "journal" in that fireplace image...I see what looks like pieces of a Christmas box-not thin paper and hanging folder metal hangers.

If I'm not washing the duvet cover I throw it and the all the pillows on the floor at the end of the bed while I wash the sheets. IF I'm doing the duvet cover I still throw the down insert on the floor. Probably not the most hygienic thing to do but it's what I do in all honesty.

a few posts back posters were saying they couldn't see cuts on BM's hands. I can see them clearly in these photos.

Nah mine goes on the floor, but neatly lol. I wonder if they had a cleaning lady-the house was super well kept. Did Barry take his work boots off or stride through the house tracking all kinds of crap in? I look at the order of the home, everything in its place, and I feel like Suzanne took care of that stuff. By contrast, Barry’s garage, and his truck…

That conversation was about the body cam raw footage. You can get a really good look at the back of Barry's right hand when they are at the closet door. I can't make out any marks there, but the footage is pretty low res.

I sort of fold up the blanket and comforter and put it on the rocking chair. I'll wash the sheets with towels and face cloths, but not with jeans, shorts, shirts, sweatshirts, etc. I think Barry saw Suzanne's note and washed the sheets with his shorts. We'll never know for sure, but that's JMO.

I agree that they do not form part of the case against BM

I suspect they may be bad for the defence theory about the abductor - e.g if the RR has no data for saturday and sunday morning.

Oh that would be good because don't all abductors get in your car at some point before they take you and leave their DNA on your glovebox.. Then they just hang around waiting on you to go for a bike ride without the things you usually bring so they can take you and throw your bike down a hill and then LE will frame your husband because he is acting sus that day.
