13 Investigates learned her remains were found along the side of the road near mile marker 103 on Highway 17 - roughly 50 minutes south of her Salida home.

Not SH 17 but the untraveled road marked by MP 103 -- see link below!
Thank you. They should have phrased that better. Like “her remains were found along the side of a rarely used dirt road that runs perpendicular to Highway 17 near mile marker 103” or something like that.

Either BM is really, really dumb and didn't realize that there were cameras in the hotel lobby or he purposely wanted to be caught on cam with those tools.
I vote for really dumb. Why would anyone ever carry a shovel into a hotel. And then there are (think Wizard of Oz) mountain lions and chipmunks and elk! Oh my!

I doubt she was wearing anything at all.
Have we learned that yet? I have not been following too closely. Maybe no clothes on the scattered remains, but there should be something snagged on rocks in the grave? Seems like he would have dressed her in the biking outfit; re helmet planted "bait" etc. Naked I don't think it would fit his scenario. I wonder how he planned to show she was kidnapped if no SA. (This being in my theory that he thought she would be found sooner.)

I wish we had a newer image than May 2018. I'd really like to see what it looks like now.
Try Bing maps. I’ve found they often have better clearer images than Google.

From 2020 but not a great image:

I'm not sure the port could have withstood 3 years exposure, they're attached to veins..
but forensic bone tests will tell a lot about drugs... had to research it recently for another case..
If the port is just there in the grave, detached, it could well contain a minute sample of her blood.. it might be possible... just might..
True, the tissue probably returned to nature, but isn't a port silicone?

If they have teeth, they likely also have tooth pulp, since that can last a long time.

Anything less than 6 feet is liable to get dug up
Why i am a little surprised he thought that would suffice. But i imagine he was in a tizzy and didnt think things through. If he did i imagine he wouldve thought to put her in a well or way way deeper than this *advertiser censored* of a grave. So glad he didnt think further. Its not in him lol

Exactly- there is really no good reason to be looking for an older lady who was hiking 30 miles away in that field where the bones were found. Maybe there is but it isn't obvious. I posted the same earlier because I wonder if this wasn't as much an accidental discovery as it is being presented. Remember that it is very common for LE to search an area with a complete intact body out in the open and miss it after multiple searches. But they walk into this random field and find scattered bones from a high profile case on the first try? OK. Maybe.
Do we even have confirmation they were looking for Edna there, though? They could have been working some entirely other case, not Edna, not SM.

Please link if new available. Thanks.
link is above now, and below. I had to edit to include it as it didn’t take the first time! Not a great image though, sadly.

I think so, but it is their choice, how they want to present it. I think LE were just fed up with BM, and the lawsuit. BM, victim of civil rights violation, my back. So the wheels of the law turn slowly, but he just seriously accelerated them. Can you imagine? He invested into a good lawyer, and, given that no body, the case was dismissed without prejudice, enough. But BM couldn't shut up, and the police knew what we don't know, of course. So they spent resources...and found her.

Smaller truck was a 2016 I believe, so I'm assuming telemetrics would have been available? Another thought I have is that Barry attempted to disable telemetrics on the F350 and was unsuccessful...could he have been successful with the F250? Lots of questions and almost no answers sadly.

Those are really good questions. It looks to me like the telemetry on the 2006-7 Range Rovers can be disabled. One can simply remove the battery (not sure if it's so simple on Barry's big new truck). However, I find it hard to believe that Barry could learn how to do that without...google searches.

Intersting section here:

"Eytan and other sources close to the investigation confirmed that GPS from Morphew’s truck and cellphone evidence from his phone show that he was not in Saguache on May 9th or 10 — the weekend Morphew went missing."

Perhaps there is an accomplice
It’s also interesting that previously she wanted to dismiss the GPS data when it showed him near where her helmet was found and near-ish to where her bike was found. So the data is only correct when it’s in your favor, Iris? How convenient.

“Along the side of the road” is strange wording. To me that implies within 50’ or so of a road. How could he have dug any kind of grave without worrying a car would pass and see him? That area is so incredibly flat. The vegetation can’t be more than 2’ tall, either. Or, are they referring to what looks like a side “road” off that main road?
The lone tree is what keeps sticking out to me when I look at the street view. I wonder where in proximity the remains/grave was found to it. If I was searching for someone I feel like a tree would be a logical place to start, as well as it would have provided some sort of cover for the grave-digger. JMO

Yeah but.. he could have left his cellphone at home or was in "airplane mode" and drove a different vehicle. I don't believe there is an accomplice. IMO

Also in case he had to go back, a good landmark at night.

I'm thinking Barry has been all but shocked that she wasn't found sooner. Part of plan; kidnapped cuz she made"bad choices", then discarded in shallow grave near road. Am really curious what she was wearing.

He could have hidden her forever, re Frazee.

Not every year, not every season, you can't set up fire these days in the vicinity of dwellings. Any serious plan needs pre-planning. This is why I think he had thought of killing her, but the event itself was an impulsive gesture. He looked frazzled several days later. It is one thing to hunt for animals, and still another, to kill the mother of your children.

Depends if highway 17 or on the access road to 56.

I think the Mile Post 103 marks State Rd Q.

I think it's telling that milepost 106 is 2022 view, but even if manually driving Google towards MP 103, the calendar begins slipping every .25 mile and by MP 103 you are back to 2018 view! Perhaps not very well traveled and probably poor signal too. JMO
