Otherwise known as the "Moorer Defense" used in the Heather Elvis case.

Seriously, nearly SOP in every trial. It's called reasonable doubt, if a defense attorney can sway one juror ...
Good point.
In some cases LE won't reveal a poi as they don't want to target someone without enough evidence.

In Suzanne's case, LE may be silent so as not to tip their hand.
They've been remarkably quiet about everything including the bike !
Imo.

Disparity:

In the plea video BM is allegedly talking to a kidnapper, saying "we'll pay anything.."

In the video that youtuber TD recorded, BM is trying to sell the "mountain lion /cat got her and dragged her up the hill."

Throwing out theories and seeing which one gains more support on social media?
It does seem awfully strange that a couple weeks ago he seemed sold on the idea she was being held for some amount of money.
Now, even though the CCSO made it perfectly clear they do not believe it was wild animal related, he's all on about wild animals.
Oh, and making sure folks know HE doesn't approve of the handling of the investigation.
Because, he probably has loads of experience in crime scene processing and evidence collection.
Ahem.

Hmm.
Interesting speculation !
I never considered that at all.

Theory : That would only happen (Imo) if TD knew BM from before or had lived in IN close to the Morphews.
Wonder if there's any connection to TD or others with that name where they lived in IN or in CO ?

In a criminal investigation, a total stranger who claims to be from Arizona approaches a family member near the family's home under the guise of wanting to help search for their missing family member. If BM or his mother didn't report BM's encounter with TD immediately to LE, I'll eat my hat.

Thank you for this, worth a listen (sinus noises from DWP withstanding)!

Even that, though -it still seems impossible to have done at this point. I can’t decide if the guy is clueless or a blow hard.
If LE used a drone, then it is not entirely impossible. Granted that is not the same as an eyes-on ground search, but it would meet the definition of a search.

BBM. Why would BM do that by stating as much on that video? If LE had truly told him he was cleared, but wanted to keep it quiet because they don't want to tip off the real perp, shouldn't he not go around telling strangers that information?
Sure he would tell him. Don't perps often return to the scene of the crime? Or ask many questions trying to find out what LE knows?

I thought BM's demeanor was very wary and he had to be thinking, why would a complete stranger come from out of state to offer to search for my very attractive wife?

JMO

I don't see it that way at all. He is definitely not happy with the way the investigation is being done and he's saying it!
To complete strangers, that right there is suspect. Trying to coalesce doubt from passersby regarding the investigation. What if the police/investigators said they have searched ALL the mountains in the area and everything within a 200 mile radius. And that a friend, a searcher, had 400 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan? He would be the first to call them out on bizarre statements like those.
At least this is a tape so we can hear how disoriented, and unbelievable he sounds. IMO.

I so agree and why would be BM be criticizing LE if he killed her! It's ludicrous. He seems very PO 'd at them for not doing a very good job.
Sometimes perps criticize LE to set the stage for
incompetence when they go to trial. Also LE
is probably pointing their fingers at BM, IMO,
and he's just getting defensive.
I'd guess BM is not being the most forthcoming or co-operative subject, right now.

agree w/ your last statement.
I think the stress and pressure of being under the microscope is getting to him.
Wonder if he's drinking heavily or popping pills cause he sure looked like a mess.

He is very sad. I can't begin to imagine the heartache he and his daughters are suffering.

Some of the lyrics:
I had a dream the other night, when everything was still;
I thought I saw Susanna dear, a coming down the hill.
A buckwheat cake was in her mouth, a tear was in her eye,
Says I, I'm coming from the south, Susanna, don't you cry.

I soon will be in New Orleans, and then I'll look around,
And when I find Susanna, I'll fall upon the ground.
But if I do not find her, then I will surely die,
And when I'm dead and buried, Oh, Susanna, don't you cry.

Oh! Susanna - Lyrics

He made the video with abduction in the back of his mind. Would be a weird opening to do. Abductors don't usually allow people to watch video's on the internet.

Oh, yes, I was agreeing with you.
Sorry if it wasn't clear.

Imo --- When listening to what BM was saying, he seemed to reference them obliquely.
Almost like he has another thought pattern circulating in his head even as he's speaking to TD (video guy).
It's as if he's orchestrating events.
MOO
I honestly dont think it's that big of a deal. I don't usually refer to my kids by their names to strangers. I feel like it would have sounded more awkward had he said their names. Even when he was talking to Suzanne he probably said, "the girls are coming today" and not mention their names

IMO, at the same time and to a degree I think loved ones get a pass for this - they are critical of LE because they are desperate for the missing to be found, a resolution (I don't like the word closure). They are usually left in the dark. LE probably won't return phone calls for updates, they feel like they are being blown off. Other people are in their ears about LE should have done this, should have done that. You could show these poor families an itemized list of all the resources used and man hours working the case but they still don't have their loved one at the end of the day.

Right around minute 10:30, she is talking about the last time Suzanne was seen. She says she was told it is part of the investigation, but that is why they are asking for tips from the public. “Perhaps someone has seen her more recently than previously thought.”

The question and answer is repeated for the last time anyone spoke to Suzanne.

MOO......that makes me wonder just how long it’s been since anyone has seen her. LE may believe she was gone before Sunday morning.

On the other hand, maybe they are looking for people who saw her on a bike ride?

I’ve been thinking a lot about this case lately. Many big happy smiles of this handsome couple , lovely homes, lovely children portrayed as the perfect family in many photographs. I think behind those photos there was a lot of dysfunction going on behind the scenes. This case makes me think of the Jennifer Hart family and all the beautiful photos and vids of a happy family.

JMO MOO
What about this case is remotely similar to the Hart case which was a murder/suicide that followed child abuse allegations?

We do not know where the daughters went camping in Idaho, AFAIK. So we do not know how many hours away they were, nor when they left Idaho.

And we are not to sleuth the daughters.

Interesting thought. I like it.

Perhaps BM was suspect of this guy and wanted to keep him around to talk to him, stall him. Meanwhile LE is being called. Everyone is side eyeing everyone. Anyone can be a suspect. If you didn't mean this by your statement, then I apologize for taking it off track.
