Morphew's husband Barry has also put out a $100,000 reward for his wife's safe return, 'no questions asked', according to FOX 31.

He declined to make a public plea when asked by the local news station, saying it was simply 'too soon'.

Mr Morphew, a firefighter at Chaffee Country Fire Protection District, was reportedly out of town on trip to Denver when his wife vanished.

Noel says her bike was found that evening, but Morphew was nowhere to be found. Sheriff John Spezze has told CBS4 it was “probably not” animals. Noel urged people to question the sheriff about the condition of the bike.

So we do know the bike was found that evening. That may point to LE actually finding it in the area where the searches were going on. Im not sure if we know exactly where the searches are taking place.

If we know where the searches are taking place then I am taking a guess that is where they found the bike.

Right. They are thinking that she will be found near the bike, or at least pursuing that lead thoroughly, which makes sense.

But if the bike was planted there as a false lead, she could be in an opposite direction. :(

Are campgrounds in CO even open for camping right now? They're all shut down here, until further notice.

Additional rando-thots:

Not intentionally sleuthing hubby but, hypothetically, in some situations where a single source of income doesn't explain million dollar home(s) and access to large amounts of cash for rewards, it's entirely possible someone's name is on multiple different businesses, and therefore there are multiple revenue streams. Hypothetically, of course.

Definitely not getting a Wendy and Marty Byrde (Ozarks) vibe. Or a Papini vibe.

BBM:

Agreed.

There's a word that keeps popping up in my head when I see the home info, SM Foundation info, etc.:

"Shady."

I can’t find a MSM link to the HS kid camping. It was apparently mentioned in SM so......

I don’t think it really matters. I only thought it relevant that she went missing while alone and happened to be Mother’s Day.

I always lean toward accident in these type of cases b/c surely that’s more likely than something nefarious. Bike/hiking/jogging accidents happen all the time. It’s really LE’s statements and FBI being involved and the fact that her bike was found but she has not been that make me suspicious. Of whom I do not know yet.

Sounds like he might indeed be serving as the family spokesperson.

which may mean they don't really have a "last sighting alive" date
IMO
BBM:

Man, I sure hope that's not the case.

If LE doesn't have the time of the last verified independent sighting of SM nailed down by now, they really need to prioritize that so that they can get their timeline narrowed as much as possible.

I think it was said that one of the early searches was at the base of Monarch Pass. I’m not sure if this is where they were searching on Sunday evening though?

Colorado is currently using the 10-mile rule for outdoor recreation/camping.

Camping and the coronavirus: CPW recommends keeping your plans flexible

If you
live within 10 miles of a state park, you’re welcome to participate in outdoor recreation there, like hiking, fishing and boating, as long as you follow social distancing guidelines, she said. Kochel said any state park visitors are also asked to wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth and to avoid crowds.

Chaffee County Sheriff's Office

Stage II Fire Restrictions Are Currently in Place.

Stoves, lanterns, cooking, and Heating devices allowed.

Man, reading some of these comments makes me wonder if I'm a terrible person for not spending every moment of every Mother's Day at home with my mom...

Do we even know that she was alone all day? Maybe they had spent the morning with her. Maybe they all celebrated on Saturday instead of Sunday. Maybe they don't like all the commercialism around Mother's Day so the day just isn't a big deal to them even though they love their mom.

I also don't think it's weird at all that Sheriff's Office isn't getting into details about how much contact she had with family that day, and I don't assume that their silence on it means that they didn't visit or even call her. I'd actually be surprised if they did talk about that stuff at this point.

I feel like some are being a little prejudgmental towards the family here and flirting with blaming them.

Purely speculation at this point, as it has not (yet) been reported on MSM, but there have been multiple comments out in SM that one of the daughters contacted the neighbors because mom couldn't be reached.

LOL about your terrible person comment. I've got a med student out of state that I haven't seen since Christmas, another away at college, and my own mother usually gets a small gift and phone call from me on that day. I was blessed this mother's day to have my college student return home for a visit. Who knows, you may be right in that she had contact with her younger daughter earlier in the day, or they were planning a nice dinner together that evening.

Rest assured, fellow mamas, any speculation about Mothers Day is not a reflection on how we ourselves recognize the day!

It only is a factor, imo, in regards to what Suzanne felt about being alone that day....and we have no idea about that. She might have welcomed it for all we know.

Surely by now LE must have established that damage to the bike was caused by a vehicle, and also dusted for fingerprints. If there are stranger fingerprints, this could be an opportunistic crime. If there are none, it could be a targeted one with the perp wearing gloves......or another scenario.

However, I don't really see this like the Jennifer Huston case, since I would think a person contemplating self harm would do so further away from home where evidently the bike was found, and Suzanne wasn't. But one never knows.....
