Hello! I'm a newbie, brought here quite obviously by the Ingram case. I've been lurking ever since the first post on the first thread and I decided to come out of my "lurkdom" and start posting ever since I saw the more concrete evidences of autopsy and the tox. report. First of all, I have no medical or law background. So I'm hoping to mostly brainstorm out here, ask questions, and hopefully not sound too stupid when I use any jargon. I must admit that I was quite convinced by the parents when I started out, but the posts here have made me look at things a lot more rationally. I thank you for that. Right now, I'm trying to keep an open mind and see what makes sense and what doesn't.
On that note, I have a question or two about the tox. report. It seems like the only new sample that was tested in June/July was the gastric content. The ami. and its metabolite was found in the Dec report itself. (If I remember right, the parents went for a second opinion with Dr. Dobersen only based on the first report.) Why was the case not declared a suicide or undetermined right then? If the ami. was found at a lethal level in the first round of testing, why were the gastric contents not examined till a much later date? Any thoughts on this?
I am not ready to diss the parents' opinion that the coroner and the ME didn't do a proper job yet. I would really like to see the original reports that caused the parents to get upset and seek a second opinion. I'm not saying the WS should get it from the county, but if someone can bring this up during the call and ask the mom to share it, it would be awesome.
