I'm also wondering since he ran to Texas could he have been involved in the murder of prosecutor Mark Haas in Kaufman Co.?

Colorado governor a friend of paroled inmate's dad

http://centurylink.net/news/read.ph...ion=5&lang=en&_LT=UNLC_USNWU00L5_UNEWS&page=1

DECATUR, Texas (AP) — Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper says he's a close friend of the father of the paroled prisoner who may be linked to the killing of the head of the state prisons.

The Denver Post reported Friday (tinyurl.com/d27b2s8) that Hickenlooper says he and attorney Jack Ebel (EH'-bul), father of Evan Spencer Ebel, worked for the same oil company when Hickenlooper was a geologist.............

The most tenuous connection is to another slaying, that of prosecutor Mark Hasse in rural Kaufman County, 100 miles east of the crash site. Hasse was gunned down as he walked through the courthouse parking lot the morning of Jan. 31. Authorities were already probing whether white supremacists assassinated Hasse.

Now they are starting to question the parallels between the Hasse case and the Clements slaying.

"Everybody is wondering, why did he run to Texas?" Kaufman County Dist. Atty. Mark McLelland said of Ebel in an interview. "Those things happen up there (in Colorado), and all of a sudden he's here where something like that already happened, your imagination runs wild."

A federal law enforcement official confirmed Ebel's white supremacist ties to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity, because he wasn't authorized to speak about the investigation............

Shell Casings in Texas Shootout Match Those Found in Colo. Prison Chief Home

Shell casings found at the scene of a high-speed car chase and shootout in Texas match casings found at the home of the slain Colorado prison chief, according to a Texas police search warrant affidavit obtained by ABC News.

"Hornady 9mm shell casings were recovered at the [Colorado] scene, which are the same brand and caliber used by the ... suspect in the Wise County [Texas] incident," the affidavit read.

Anybody got an ID of the weapon used in the Hasse Murder??

Here is the thread on the Haas murder. He was killed by someone in disguise and who got away. As far as I know no weapon has been identified publicly.

What are police saying might have been the motive for the gunman to kill all these people? How does a delivery man fit into the picture? Maybe just in the wrong place at the wrong time? Hmmm:what: And dead men can't speak as I still wonder if the 2 killings were some kind of "hit".

The pizza delivery driver was sent on a run to a location in the middle of nowhere, to an intersection that has no homes or business right there, in the country in open space area so to speak. The call for the pizza was made from a nearby truck stop from a pay phone for the delivery. (Sapp Bros). I think either there is a connection, or perhaps the shooter was hungry and life means nothing to him.... have not figured out a possible connection otherwise yet....IMHO

Gun evidence links Ebel to Clements Death.

I guess I expected this. I look for things to get really rough for the 211's in prison. I don't think Ebel did this on his own. Plus, it's not like Clements' address was publically listed. He had someone giving him intelligence on Clements. IMO

JMO, IMO, :moo:, and all other disclaimers.

Authorities are also investigating why Ebel was in Texas, and whether he might have been involved in the Jan. 31 slaying of Kaufman County prosecutor Mark Hasse.

But Wise County Sheriff David Walker said Monday that investigators have so far found "no firm ties" linking Ebel to the Kaufman assassination or Texas.

Kramer said investigators are looking at who Ebel's associates were in prison and outside of prison.

According to a Department of Public Safety search warrant, Ebel's car contained maps, bomb making materials, bomb building instructions, letters from a person named "Nate," a home security video system, zip ties, and a blood-stained pair of pants, among other items.

Media outlets appear to have the Texas search warrant return.

Wounded deputy talks of encounter with suspected Colorado killer

He was trying to do a traffic stop on a black Cadillac sedan last Thursday.

Little did he know at that time that Evan Ebel was behind the wheel and police say on the run — having just fled Colorado, where he is suspected in two murders.

[Montague County Deputy James] Boyd said something just didn't look right with Ebel's car, and then — all of a sudden — he was shot, knocked to the ground after approaching the car.

But without Boyd's initial, gut feeling, there is no telling how long Ebel might have remained a danger to others.

Nevertheless, this young deputy doesn't consider himself a hero.

"It puts it into perspective," he said. "I got lucky."

Deputy Boyd says he will undergo physical rehab but hopes to soon be back on the job.

Wise County Sheriff David Walker said the bomb materials make it clear that Ebel, a suspect in the fatal shootings of a prison executive and pizza delivery man in Colorado, wasn't just passing through Texas while trying to flee to Mexico.

"This guy obviously was on a mission and not only in Colorado," Walker said. "... Quite honestly, he wouldn't be driving into another country with a pipe bomb in his car. He had a plan. We have to work backward to see what that plan was."

Walker said authorities have determined that the Cadillac, which had different Colorado license plates displayed on its front and back, was not stolen but had apparently been purchased off Craigslist by some of Ebel's acquaintances.
