Neighbors are not usually reliable diagnosticians when it comes to mental illness. But it's entirely possible that the shooter was mentally ill and also developmentally delayed, with autism or Aspberger's. He was an adult, so his parents and other family may have had very little they could do to control his actions. If he knew how to get guns, it is pretty likely that they could not have stopped him or that some of them died trying.

One of the neighbors that did know him said he had Aspbergers and OCD iirc.

I do not think a part time or substitute could afford her home. We are talking 4000,00 a month with current taxes and mortgage.

The website may be wrong, but there doesn't appear to be a Nancy on staff there, and I've looked through all classroom teachers and all other jobs in the school.

Plus, she wasn't killed at the school but at home -

Maybe she was a staff member but somehow not listed.

There is a Sandy Hook Elem in Virginia as well. I made that mistake earlier. Haven't been able to get on the Sandy Hook in Conn yet. Server is down,

Before we had 24/7 news coverage gathering information and verifying it was easier- now viewers want instant information and when events are active and on going that information will change as the facts become clearer.

Other than releasing the wrong name for the shooter the mistakes the networks have made are pretty normal.

Fox News Live, Report from Hoboken NJ: 24 year old Ryan Lanza, living in Hoboken, NJ., was taken out of his apartment in handcuffs this afternoon. Ryan Lanza's girlfriend is missing. Ryan Lanza is now in custody and is being questioned by Law Enforcement in New Jersey.

If she is really missing they need to release her name and picture.
Maybe she hasn't been murdered and doesn't realize she is missing.
If Ryan wasn't involved in the school shooting maybe he didn't kill anyone.

Or maybe Adam killed her too... who knows. But if she is "missing" she needs to be looked for.

If you are looking at the Sandy Hook School website in Virginia, it is unlikely you will find the mother's name there.

Another thing about these parents allowing their children to be interviewed is the fact that 20 parents in their community have lost their children today. I find it extremely insensitive. Let Law Enforcement release the facts in this case. Not a bunch of children who have not even had time to grasp the magnitude of what has happened today.

I have had it up since early today. There is no teacher named Nancy. There is a staff member named that but last name is not Lanza.

I'm not sure she was a teacher there at all...several parents have been asked in interviews about her and stated that they have never heard her name before.
