Please consider more signage. Maybe require that people call first?

I feel for you. It's very likely you've been exposed BUT keep us posted (most people don't get super sick - but you might want to consider closing for a week, sleeping, more sleeping, and lots of sunshine, Vitamin D, relaxation (who can do that right now?), hot baths (lowers blood pressure), etc. etc.

This kind of thing p's me off so much.

Paraphrasing from an interview I heard with Gov. Cuomo on the radio, station 740, on the way there. (Apologies if already posted, wanted to post while fresh in my mind.)

When asked about the president saying they found thousands of ventilators stockpiled in a New York warehouse he said “The President is wrong and grossly uninformed.”

Then he said “We have ventilators in a stockpile and they haven’t been sent to hospitals yet, because the hospitals don’t need them yet. They have enough ventilators.”

Then something about “Just because we have thousands in a stockpile doesn’t mean we won’t need more, that’s ignorant.”

Do the New York doctors and nurses tweeting, giving interviews and posting videos about not being able to properly treat patients because of lack of ventilators know there are thousands available in a warehouse stockpile?

So the pulmonologist, Dr. Ahme who said they were fine in New York was correct.

Well, because at first this was conceived as a Chinese problem. Not a problem for anyone else. Someone didn't understand what a CoronaVirus was. I would think it had to go through several layers of governmental decision making, but the US often reacts pro forma, instead of assigning some study to the problem.

If this is a major concern then the damned FL beaches should have been shut down. I’m pretty sure the feds could have at least attempted to cajole the governor into doing that. But nobody cared more about our lives than the tourist income. Nobody. Did. Anything. And now they’ve brought it back all over the country, including my state. So we can hunt down New Yorkers in this country to send them home but we couldn’t send a bunch of drunk kids home from the beach?

I’m just sick of the nonsense.

grocery store one had a line outside around the front of the building, limiting access and sanitizing carts before you went into store. Did a slow drive by. People were in line with carts prior to sanitization so I’m not quite sure how they thought that was working. Armed guard at entrance. This is the big store, swung by after picking up our amazing takeout from my favorite small restaurant. Opted to wait and go to small store with understanding they may not have much.

Small store was its usual Sat afternoon quiet. They even had individual wrapped toilet paper rolls for sale. You could only buy 2 but at least it’s something. I didn’t need any. Meat selection was fine, none of the kielbasa I buy for sauerkraut soup and the frozen veggies were pretty much gone but they seemed to have everything else. I bought enough for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the next two weeks supplemented with the pantry. Brought some chlorox wipes with me in zip lock bag so I was able to wipe down cart and hold it when I opened doors and such. Wiped down cc machine before I used it and wiped down my card.
Only troubling thing was a small child with her finger so far up her nose I couldn’t see it, hanging out in the produce section. Her dad was oblivious and on the phone. I didn’t see her touch anything but gross. No coughing or sneezing that I noticed anywhere. Baggers wore gloves. DH waited in car.

have to get gas tomorrow and will follow my one glove protocol before heading into work quick. Swinging by a friend to drop off duck eggs, will leave them on his porch. My girls are laying like crazy and no one wants to buy them so I give them to a friend who gives them away to church members. I easily have 36 dozen eggs to give away. Even giving away some goose eggs. Going to keep a few but I cant eat all that we have.

Anyone who hasn't tasted the delicious richness of duck eggs is truly missing out! I'd love to have a source here. I've never tasted goose eggs but I love roast goose!

I spent some time in the local park today. The bathrooms are now locked but the sign said the park will remain open for now. It's a big area and allows much room for people to walk without getting too close. It's mostly people walking their dogs. I go there to play Pokemon and get some fresh air.

We have a bit of a wind storm right now but it doesn't keep people from walking along the side streets. I saw a number of parents riding bikes with their kids. I feel bad for them as having kids home must present some challenges. And I feel for the single people. At least I have my husband who happens to be my best friend. I'm keeping in touch with friends via Discord.

To be perfectly clear, if this virus were equally killing babies and children, the response would be quite a bit different (and tourism would still be an issue because no one does anything about their health until forced, apparently).

Hunting down New Yorkers is obviously based in previous bias and the Spring Break Jabronis bring $$$ (in the short run, to some and not to others).

Florida is a mess (sorry Floridians, but most of you already know it).

Big cultural changes in future, I think. But nothing is gonna stop Spring Break. All those elderly in FL...I wonder if when they are gone, anyone will want to snap up their properties. Will their grandkids inherit? Will it be permanent Spring Break in FL?

At any rate there are likely to be vacancies in FL, due to deaths of the elderly.
