Last night during his airtime on CNN, he showed his chest X-rays and the virus' infiltration into his lungs. He sounded scared. He also said his infectious disease doctor told him to stand as much as possible, to stretch his arms over his head, to hold his breath for 10 seconds if he could, anything to work in lung capacity and chest opening. He said the doctor was emphatic about it..saying, "Do it!"
Yes I saw that and it was very good advice. Laying in bed 24/7 is not good for the lungs.
 
241 federal inmates have tested positive for coronavirus

The Bureau of Prisons announced Tuesday that 241 federal inmates and 72 staff members have tested positive for coronavirus.

Louisiana's FCI Oakdale I has the most cases among inmates and staff with 42. North Carolina's FCI Butner has 41, and California's USC Lompoc has 35.

7 NYC Department of Corrections staffers have died
Seven staffers at the New York City Department of Corrections have died after contracting the virus, the department said, citing family members who notified them of the deaths.

As of Tuesday, 287 inmates and 406 staffers in the city's jail system have tested positive for the virus, the department said. The outbreak in the city's jail system is one of the largest at U.S. correction facilities.

Nearly 20% of NYPD's uniformed workforce out sick
The New York City Police Department said that 19.5% of its uniformed workforce - 7,060 people - called in sick on Tuesday. More than 2,000 members of the uniformed workforce and nearly 350 civilians have tested positive for the virus, according to the department.

The department also announced the death of Police Communications Technician Ava Walker, who died Tuesday from coronavirus-related complications. Walker had worked for the department for more than 20 years.

Biotech company's chief scientific officer talks timeline for possible treatments
With no proven treatment or vaccine for coronavirus, the scientific community has turned to a promising near-term solution with the use of antibody drugs. Regeneron is one of several biotech companies developing such an approach.

California governor ships hundreds of surplus ventilators to New York, New Jersey and Illinois

California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced that shipments of ventilators will arrive in hotspots in New York, New Jersey and Illinois as early as Tuesday night, as his state began flying a surplus of 500 ventilators to states in need.

“One hundred going to New York, 100 going to New Jersey, 100 going to Illinois,” Newsom, a Democrat, told reporters Tuesday.

Newsom said the 500 ventilators are being loaned after the state was able to refurbish and purchase sufficient equipment for the states own needs.

The ventilators being shipped are part of California’s own supply, and are being distributed as a loan.

Chef serves thousands of meals to people in need from Nationals Park

Famous chef José Andrés has teamed up with Nationals Park in Washington, DC, to distribute thousands of meals to people in need during the coronavirus pandemic.

Andrés is the founder of World Central Kitchen, a charity that has been serving low income communities battling the virus in more than 25 cities across the country.

He said it is important to help people during this pandemic because there are less volunteers and less resources for those experiencing homelessness. Andrés said his charity is not only providing meals, but also giving people hand sanitizer and educating them about social distancing.

Having a kitchen at the National's stadium allows Andrés to bring food to not just people in Washington, DC, but also in Virginia and Maryland.

ICE releasing detainees on a case-by-case basis

The agency, in an email obtained by CNN, told the congressional staff that it has instructed its field offices to "further assess and consider for release certain individuals deemed to be at greater risk of exposure, consistent with CDC guidelines, reviewing cases of individuals 60 years old and older, as well as those who are pregnant.”
