They obviously want to catch the virus and beat it to defy Satan. Will they wear masks and practice social distancing? Will they be arrested or is it allowed?
I’m from Louisiana...this is so disheartening. Most churches are offering virtual services since the stay-at-home orders went into effect. This pastor has already been arrested. I believe that not only the pastoral staff but the congregation needs to be arrested. Many of congregation is bussed in for church services.

The link is finally up - Canadian province of Alberta donating supplies to other provinces:

"He said Alberta had an excess capacity of equipment because planning that began early during the pandemic.

"Part of that preparedness was the excellent work done by Alberta Health Services procurement division," he said.

Ontario will receive:
  • 250,000 N95 masks
  • 5 million procedural masks
  • 15 million gloves
  • 87,000 goggles
  • 50 ventilators
Quebec will recieve:
  • 250,000 N95 masks
  • 2 million procedural masks
  • 15 million gloves
While British Columbia will receive:
  • 250,000 N95 masks.
"This is the right thing to do," Health Minister Tyler Shandro said at the press conference, adding that their first priority is Albertans."

High-Risk COVID-19 Patients Show 100% Chance of Survival After New Israeli Medical Treatment

Seven high-risk patients in Israel suffering from COVID-19 are recovering after receiving treatment from a plant-based therapy product.

The Jerusalem Post reports that Pluristem Therapeutics Inc., an Israeli medicine company that specialized in cell therapy products, treated patients at three different Israeli medical centers for one week.

God willing, let this work. It would be a wonderful Passover and Easter miracle. Of course it will take quite awhile to establish it with certainty, but that's great news right now for those seven patients and their families.

I agree that the church board should be arrested, and if anyone dies as a result of this gathering, the board should be charged with murder, in just the same way that one would be charged for intentionally spreading HIV. The pastor is just a hired lackey.

China somehow manages it, and it has a lot more people. When I look at photos there, I see people wearing masks, and those masks don't look homemade.
Years ago my daughter was a preschool teacher with my granddaughter in the same class. It was cold and flu season. And yes, parents did and probably still do or did drop their kids off sick to share. Maybe not so much in our future. Anyway, I went to EBay and and bid a quarter for every China made baby/child mask I could find at the time. It was back in the day of the little Monkey craze. They were definitely homemade from cutesy print materials with the ear elastic loops sewn in. Nothing really special sewn into them. My daughter used them for all the kids and also taught them germ safety letting them practice with their dolls. OT: You’ve not seen maximum adorable until you see eight little highchair seats made together in one circular table with eight little adorable faces, bibs, sticky fingers and food all over their faces at the same time!

eta: I’m not saying this is what is in use now. My intention is to say that at least 13 years ago, probably much much longer - factories, skilled workers, materials and systems were already in place to address China’s pollution. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to amend the mask making specifications needed to combat COVID-19.

Is this the same guy who had 26 buses last week? How many from his congregation last week are now ill?

you missed the point of the article
the angle of the bottom pic does not reflect the reality

There are other problems with those pictures. Not just the angle.

They aren't even the same people in both pictures. Nothing about the article works for me. And it's obvious, regardless of lens, that the grocery cart people are standing exactly 1 grocery cart apart with very little room beyond that.

Not the same street trees, no one in the second set has a grocery cart at all - and not the same neighborhood. Not the same Costco.

Amateur pic was likely taken with a cell phone. Professional photog went to a different place at a different time of day. I don't see how this piece about "angles" if the second photog doesn't go to the same place and stand in a similar place. Camera "angles" do not produce a 100 people with about 60 grocery carts.

In both pictures, people have some distance between them, which is great. And in the first picture, almost everyone is wearing gloves and masks - very cool.

You are my role model in this self-isolation. Really, you have taken it seriously and stuck to your resolve. You sound in an okay mood. Glad you keep up with others here. Being here has helped me a lot.

I keep track in an odd way... like this... Day 5/28 - 8 hrs. total to shop food. So, I've been home 28 days, but 5 days ago I left for a couple of hours, and the total I've left the premises is 8 hrs. I don't count if I stay within the building just to get my mail or start my car in the underground garage.

I'm at risk and shouldn't go out at all. I don't think I'll survive getting a bad case of the virus. I've got to keep strong and stay home. Not sure about another month though. It's going to be harder.

I live near quite a few grocery stores that tempt me to want to get that one more food item, but I actually have plenty.

Thankfully, I was paying attention to the news and talk on WS, so I started stocking up on food and TP ahead of many.

I did a whole "shop" on line at our Harris Teeter, that always has had an excellent express lane for drive up pick up. So I spent a long time putting the shopping list together....and then went to sign up for a pick up time. And there were NONE. So I called the store, and said the first pickup time would be April 19...and the signup started at midnight the next night. And all the sale prices for THIS week could be totally changed by the time I got a pickup after April 19. So screw that.... I just decided to go directly into my Winn Dixie in the first hour of opening this am. The first thing I saw as I walked in was a package of 30 rolls of White Cloud TP, at a ridiculously good price. I wore a mask, gloves, and got a number of wipes as I entered the almost empty store... SO much more accomplished by going inside and moving very quickly. AND all the registers had the plastic barriers between me and the cashier. Sooooooooo...my feeling is now, that with all these precautions, I feel it is truly very safe to do shopping as usual. I am fortunate to be in a relatively low population area...so know that that makes a huge difference. So i will count my 14 days....but truly loved my visit into the store!!!!!!

as an ethical vegan, this makes me very very happy

Amen to arrest!

The size of the crowd was huge, and left many wondering why so many Londoners would converge on a single, albeit large, shopping venue. But the apparently crowded nature of the line also shocked the eye, with hundreds seemingly mere inches from the person before them.

When we went to look ourselves, we saw something quite different.

Shooting a photo straight on with a telephoto or zoom lens compresses the distance between objects in the photo. If you stood a fair distance away from the line, and shot down it, as in the first photo, it will make the people look much closer together than if you shoot it from the side, as in the second photo. It's one of the effects of telephoto lenses.

This reminds me of the people who restrained a man on the ground at the grocery store who was coughing all over the produce on purpose, iirc. I saw the photos and wondered if those patrons had now sadly and certainly exposed themselves with the physical contact, if he is indeed positive.

Which reminds me, so just off the top of my head, I can name 5 instances of idiot crazies purposely coughing, spitting on things.

There was the woman who coughed all over the produce and it all had to get chucked, thooousands of dollars worth.

There’s also the man I mentioned above. I think that was a separate instance from the woman.

Then there’s the amazon guy spitting on packages...(I didn’t watch the video, so not sure if he was being malicious or if he didn’t mean to do it/wasn’t thinking.)

Then there’s...I forgot the rest of the examples, but I counted them the other day in a phone conversation and it was 5. And that’s only the ones I’ve happened to hear about.
The two guys in Morecombe, Lancs who were licking their hands and rubbing them all over produce and plastic covered items who were shown on CCTV were probably the ones you were thinking of. What makes people such A....s?

ETA good news. The asshats were arrested. :-)

"Coronavirus: Arrests after men lick hands and wipe supermarket food - BBC News" Arrests after men lick hands and wipe shop food

(Also this is a good reason to use antibacterial wipes to clean off your groceries just in case they have been spat upon by covidiots like these)

To me, that's really extreme. No point in violating people's rights.

The Church Board is negligent, let people bring civil suits and sue them out of existence, or into another state - which is what usually happens.

The parents, though, could be charged with a crime if their child fell ill and died. Which is really unlikely and if we reacted to all meetings where one child could catch a disease and die (while other the other children were okay), that would repress all social life for eternity.

Why go to that extreme? Send in CPS if the state deems it necessary - but in this crisis, putting any workers into harm's way for that reason is wrong.

Let the hospital call it into to CPS if a child ends up being admitted.

In the case of HIV, it's the specific individual involved in deliberate transmission who gets arrested, not every single person who facilitated the meeting of the individuals involved.
