Gosh, I'm sorry to hear that. Can you get your mother a telehealth appointment if you need to? Every specialist I've ever been to, it seems, has been bombarding me with emails about the option for remote appointments via smartphone, Skype, etc.

Can you believe they just called me? Lol.

She has an appointment May 7. There's no way she can do telehealth. She can't hear and will randomly answer questions thinking no one will be the wiser.

ITA. The "wet markets" should have been banned a century ago.
I had a dream that I was having to wrestle a woman at the wet market to save my Bichon!
She was screaming at me and trying to cook my dog.
I didn't know what a wet market was before this!
In my defense, I had a 103.7° temp an elevated white blood count and was getting tested for COVID the next day. NEGATIVE!
MOO

I am trying to convince Mrs.22 that making me a fried eggs and cheese sandwich, is a new CDC Virus Fighting Control Measure, that I read about here on WS......It may be working.........:D.......moo

Fever dreams are crazy.

Hope you're feeling better.

All of the additional deaths are confirmed cases of coronavirus. As previously reported, there were also many other people who were said to have died of coronavirus but were never tested. They are not included in the death toll.

ADAMS: "The thing I'm most concerned about... is that I want to make sure each of these states is looking at their public health capacity and understands that they've got testing in place and they've got the ability to contact trace, again, so that you don't have a big blowup."

I'm hearing challenged due to loud 1960s music and construction equipment. My Audiologist recommended CaptionCall due to my poor hearing even with hearing aids. You read a screen display of what the person you're talking to is saying. Free in US. Requires an internet connection.

Haha, you can also try what my daughter says to convince me to make her something.

"It tastes better when you make it because it's made with love."

You're not alone! Every time I type in my info, I'm thinking: Another opportunity for hackers to get it! (You just know that's going to be the next news we hear about the Portal, lol). I think my issue is I forgot to file for 2018 (getting a refund, so I look at it as forced savings). I did file 2019.

For those in the UK waiting for Small Business Grant's from councils, check your bank account. I know someone who received £10k today.

In case I get accused of spreading fake news again, here is the link.

Financial support for businesses during coronavirus (COVID-19)
My sister (USA) just got approval on her small business loan today. She applied a week ago and was scared when it was reported yesterday that the money had run out. I'm so relieved for her.

Do it. Last time I had to go in to renew a prescription, the dr. called me several days later to say that patients behind me had tested positive for the virus. Quarantine myself for 14 days. ?????
There was only one man in the waiting room when I left at 8:10 am. After he described them as a couple, I realized I had seen them. They pulled in right next to me as I backed out. I just missed the potential deadly infection by a few minutes. Seconds, really.
Absolutely. Video appts. Do it.

Number of hospitalizations across New York continues to decline, governor says

[...]

"Net change in total hospitalizations is undeniably on the decline. The three-day average, which is more accurate than any one-day number, also says the same thing. That's not that telling to me because, as I said, the entire hospital is now basically an ICU ward," Cuomo said as a news conference Friday.
Cuomo also added that intubations are down and "that is very good news."

"Because intubations 80% of the time wind up in a person not recovering. So that's really good news," he said.

630 people died from coronavirus on Thursday, New York governor says

The number of deaths “refuses to come down dramatically,” Cuomo said in his daily briefing.

It is “breathtaking in its pain and grief and tragedy," the governor added.

Coronavirus pandemic and grocery shopping: No need to wipe down food packaging, FDA says

“We want to reassure consumers that there is currently no evidence of human or animal food or food packaging being associated with transmission of the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.”

“This particular coronavirus causes respiratory illness and is spread from person-to-person, unlike foodborne gastrointestinal or GI viruses, such as norovirus and hepatitis A that often make people ill through contaminated food,” it added, noting there are currently no nationwide shortages of food, though some stores may be out of certain products. (Speaking of, what drives people to panic buy?)

The FDA also provided tips on how to protect yourself, other shoppers and store employees when buying essential items.

I needed to add bank info but it kept saying my information did not match their records. I waited the 24 hours and tried again this morning. It worked for that, I don't know about it working to check status. Sorry :(
Oh I'm not destitute, I can wait I guess. I notice that the results of that site are browser dependent, ie I get a quite nasty error message on Brave, something like Paraphrased "you do NOT have permission to access this page", in black and white letters squished up in the corner. Different results on FF, Edge, Chrome.
