I just want to throw a question out to all posters. When is the right or wrong time to ensure a child is not being abused???? I do NOT care if it makes Ron or anyone else uncomfortable about the timing. It is what it is. There are allegations on the table that need investigating to protect Jr and Haleigh should she return. NOW is the time to investigate. If the charges are unfounded, what does RC have to fear??? Let the child be interviewed by forensic experts. Let the witnesses speak as to what they have seen occur, let the evidence be brought the court and let the best interests of the child be what we are concerned with. To h** with someone's discomfort. The child comes first. That is abuse of his own children. They are privy to this sleeping in the same room. It is RC's fault that he and his companion have associated with a RSO and brought his children into that enviornment. It IS Rc's fault that he associates with known drug offenders and brings them into his child's enviornment. So my question is...Who would like to send their children to visit RC and Misty for a few weeks?

She reported what SHE saw at the time. These reports now are what others have brought to her attention since she arrived in Satsuma after Haleigh's disappearance.

Is this really that difficult to understand?

Yes! If other people saw it...why didn't they report it at the time, too?! I am not going to let someone smack a child in the face and onto the cement without calling LE immediately! Why would anyone? You do not "save up" child abuse reports. PERIOD.

And so when Crystal hears about it upon her arrival in Satsuma, and brings it to the attention of DFS, we can agree that she is doing the appropriate thing! Thank god. I thought no one would ever get that point.

I understand what you are saying, but I have a hard time believing that many people just ignored that there was abuse going on. Crystal has changed her story about the children being abused so that to me makes it even tougher to believe that there was abuse going on.

Very true. Any time you have a war of child custody going on...I think abuse charges from out of the blue are suspect. She didn't just change stories...I believe the interviews are quite clear...she lied in one or the other. So which is it?!

If someone saw abuse last year and waited until Crystal arrives in Satsuma when she becomes embroiled in a child missing/child custody issue and people want to enact whatever revenge on Ronald they so desire...they conveniently take it to Crystal after waiting all that time?! No flipping way!! I am pulling the BS handle on that!! :furious:

She has reported it on more than one occasion prior to Haleigh's disappearance. She can't force DCFS to do something.

Crystal had an obligation to report what she'd been told, regardless of what motives or reasons these other people may have had to withhold this information. Crystal acted appropriately, and if these new allegations prove unfounded, that will clear up the issue. But she cannot take the chance that they are true and do nothing.

And frankly, there is no child custody issue in play yet. This is about whether the children in Ron's care have been subjected to abuse of any form. These allegations were delivered to the authorities to investigate and that is the appropriate course of action.

I hope when they are finished with their "investigation" with the ER docs, teachers, Principal, and others who appear to have been in a professional position to be required to report the abuse and did not...they only allow supervised visitation with Rj for Crystal, if that! They may want to take a second look at her having Chloe, too. It is very serious when you are charging a man whose daughter was abducted in the middle of the night of child abuse and the charges are bogus. It should be met with some serious repercussions.

Crystal originally said Ron did not abuse the children. She said on more than one occasion Ron would not hurt Haleigh. Then all of the sudden people came out of the woodwork and told her of abuse, she was upset because she did not know that was going on. Then we have pictures of injuries that Crystal and family members have been taking for how long is anyones guess documenting abuse and she knows there was abuse going on. It kind of destroys your credibility when you change stories around, same reason Misty is the key to the investigation changes in stories.

It was the other way around, since Geraldo was just last evening, and Art's article was earlier this week.

But why should she be held responsible for the alleged lies of others? If they're lies they'll be found to be such. As far as lying about the school accident, I have heard them say Ron told them she fell at school. I'm not sure how that's a lie.

We have no idea how people would respond that we don't know. For all we know everyone fears everyone. Maybe they play the "it's not my business" card...who knows? But, should they keep silent now if they do believe they have information? Maybe it took this child to go missing before someone stepped forward. We just don't know what their rationale is. IMO the authorities need to be involved because these are obviously not normal circumstances and if somehow it leads to information that pertains to what possibly could have happened to Haleigh then I say...go for it. JMHO

No. It wasn't the other way around. It was the first time that Crystal and Maria were on Geraldo with the photos of Haleigh and the school incident. At the end of the report after they proclaimed the alleged "abuse", Geraldo's staff had to recant because they found out the truth of Ronald taking her to ER twice etc. (IIRC, this was the weekend after Rj's birthday.)

I heard something interesting yesterday on the radio (believe it was HLN). They said the nurse reported a scratch...what was seen at the hospital was not just a scratch. They also pointed out a discrepency as to when RC said he brought her in to the hospital and when she was actually seen there. These were things I hadn't heard before.
