This is JMO but I think if Schessinger is involved then this was a hit on Annie. People like him have someone else do their dirtywork.

hopefulinca, I am truly sorry for the loss of your friend. Thank you for sharing the things you know about Annie with us. I'm praying for Annie's family and friends.

Not sure if this has been posted.

Bloody clothes found in the lab belonged not to Annie Le, but to the
likely killer, according to sources.

I'm glad they are not Annie's.I think they are critical to identifying the perp.Male/female? Janitorial uniform? Lab coat with a name in it? Can the clothing be identified and linked to someone on the video they have been viewing. So glad that bloodhound alerted to the clothes.Wish we had a video of it.

Wow, so interesting your first comment - I rarely had a first semester/quarter class that wasn't nearly full class time.

My professors always said we were paying for class time and would get what we paid for! We might end a few minutes earlier, but they always managed to fill time with some degree of introductory lecture, etc. after passing out the syllabus, especially in my upper level classes and all my grad classes!

That's actually news to me that that isn't the norm!

We all have different experiences and mine are mixed. For the most part, the first day of class was rarely a full class. If I was the TA, sometimes I alone would show up and discuss the exams, research papers, hand out semesters agenda, and pertinent articles that I thought would be helpful in an upcoming lecture or research assignment. Since being a TA helps immensely with tuition, the preparation for the first week was usually time consuming. Sometimes the Prof would come in for 10 minutes, hour or more...all depends. I can't remember any student saying they felt cheated.

I would think a maintenance worker would figure out a lot better way to get rid of the evidence, as would an older scientist. Along these lines the perp being a student wouldn't surprise me.

In New Haven Sunday, one of the five women with whom Le shared a three-story house in the city's historic district said the last time she saw Le was Tuesday between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. as the bride-to-be was walking to a campus shuttle bus stop with two of their housemates.

Housemate wished her luck
"I said, 'If I don't see you before Sunday, congratulations and good luck,' " said the housemate, who asked not to be identified because Yale officials have insisted students, faculty and staff not speak to the press about the case.

Perhaps they are just waiting on the DNA from the clothes or the crime scene to directly tie to a perp before an arrest can happen. I hope it is very soon.

Yale will do everything within their power to keep things quiet and protect their reputation of being a safe place. Right now, I am sure they are pushing for a swift end to this nightmare. However, parents and students need to know the truth about what goes on at Yale or any college. Annie's murder should spotlight other issues which rise to the surface during this investigation.

Deputy Secretary Martha Highsmith, who oversees campus security, said earlier this week that access to the rooms and labs inside the building is restricted and digitally monitored. Authorities said they know who was in the basement at the time when Le entered.
Robert Alpern, dean of the Yale School of Medicine, where Le was studying for a Ph.D. in pharmacology, said in a telephone interview Sunday night that access to the basement where Le was found is limited to certain people with approved Yale magnetic identification cards, as it is at all University facilities where research is conducted on animals.
“I think that it suggests it was someone who could get into that space,” he said. “It certainly would be extremely difficult for someone from outside of Yale to get into that space. Not impossible, but extremely difficult.” http://www.yaledailynews.com/news/un...e-suspect-it-/

Can someone please tell me about Schlessinger and sexual harrassment? I don't want to wade through this long thread. TIA.

Authorities first learned of Le’s disappearance when a roommate reported her missing at about 9 p.m. Tuesday, YPD Chief James Perrotti said. The police quickly began investigating the matter and learned that she took a Yale Transit bus from her apartment at 188 Lawrence St. to her office at the Sterling Hall of Medicine early Tuesday morning.
Later in the morning, she walked from that office to 10 Amistad St., leaving her purse, cell phone and wallet behind. She took her Yale identification card with her, and the surveillance footage shows her carrying another object as she entered the building. Officials have not said what she was carrying

Indianagirl,

Google his name and the term "sexual harassment," and you will find plenty of info!

Theres a story that someone sued the university because of his sexual harassment. The typical stuff, lewd comments, inappropriate touching, pictures, etc. The typical behavior of an egomaniac using his position of power to be sexually aggressive and sometimes offensive. Hes not the killer

Something just isn't right with Schlessinger. There are too many questions surrounding him and his connection that day to Annie.

And I am sorry - I missed a day here and this thread grew exponentially.

I have one question - do we know Annie was put in the autoclave or is that just speculation?

It is speculation. I had just posted this quote that says it was a "lab hood" that caused the steam and could have been intentional... http://www.yaledailynews.com/

The special agent in charge of the FBI in Connecticut, Kimberly Mertz, said at a press conference Saturday that the alarm was caused by a release of steam from a laboratory hood. She said it was possible that the steam was intentionally released by a person.

My God!
It sure looks like Yale ruined an innocent man's life AND ruined the investigation!

Let us hope that this case is better researched and MUCH more carefully
done..

No justice for that poor girl, and another life in tatters.

Yes, that is true...and something to think about...Since Websleuths is so very popular, and since we all dive in full force, we should all probably be intelligent with how we word things and try to stay away from saying "suspect" and such words...otherwise we're doing the same thing if one of our "suspects" happens to be innocent. Since this is a very popular online amateur detective site, and since every hit to it will boost it's Google rating, please everyone be careful with the words you choose about certain people, because if not, their careers that they've worked sooo hard for could ultimately be ruined - and we would have been a part in making that happen. This is not meant to be taken out of context...just noteworthy to be conscientious. Love to all ~ Jersey

It would have to have come from something in the hood that gave off enough vapour to escape the hood so if you were going to intentionally trigger the alarm I don't think you would do it in a hood (I don't think they have alarms in hoods). Of course if you put the sash all the way up the hood wouldn't work as well but anyway if you wanted to intentionally trigger the alarm the hood might not be the best place to do it.
