LE did recover an axe from FDs garage at 4Jax when they arrested FD on Tuesday for murder and kidnapping charges. FD allegedly borrowed the axe from a friend or neighbor a month before JD disappeared and told the friend/neighbor he needed it to chop firewood. The axe was sent to the forensic lab for analysis. It is not know if the axe is related to the kidnapping and murder of Jennifer. Nothing has been said about what was or was not found on the axe itself.

Beyond a reasonable doubt does not mean no doubt. Defense attorneys LOVE to confuse jurors on this, IMO. I've sat on too many juries (IMO) from the Superior Court to the Federal Court and in the case in which beyond a reasonable doubt was required, someone in the jury was "hung up" on the phrasing and meaning and could not get past this dilemma, especially when the defense was successful is muddying the definition in the jury instructions. THIS person is the juror that NP will be looking for during jury selection, IMO...MOO.

Without a body, this could be a difficult decision for many people. Huge sigh....

Possible NP defenses for FD:
1. Gone Girl: Jennifer disappeared herself and is hiding. And did this to frame FD. Or committed suicide. Don’t even get Little Bitty started on how ludicrous and ridiculous this defense is. Using purple for Jennifer.
2. Someone killed JD to frame FD.
3. FD hired someone to scare JD but something went terribly wrong.
4. Someone entirely random killed JD.
5. FD killed JD in self-defense.
6. FD accidentally killed JD.

I don’t really care which one (1–6) NP decides to run with. Each one can be absolutely obliterated by the wealth of circumstantial evidence that has been collected. There is so much LE has we do not know. They put the bare minimum in the Arrest Warrants. They have so much more than what we have been reading. We have yet to even see the Search Warrants. Not to mention read the entirety of any of the interviews LE has conducted. They have cell phone and computer data on MT, FD and KM we haven’t seen. Not to mention camera surveillance footage from NC to Farmington and so on. It’s a ton and I mean a ton more than what we got with the AWs on Tuesday and AW1 and AW2 for FD and MT.
NP may be eager to take this to trial and have FD get on the stand. Please do it! By the time the state chews up and spits out any of NPs theories or defenses FD will be banished to prison where he belongs.

Actually this video was from today and he says that they found an ax with blood on it and are testing it now? He would be pretty stupid to have a bloody ax left in the garage?

welcome to WS! It makes sense to me. FD thought he cleaned the ax real good, but like in other evidence FD and MT disposed of, their DNA was found on the items! The two of them were not real careful at all. Also, he may have kept it as a trophy. Time will tell if this is murder weapon or not.

He’s eager to take it to trial so he stops wasting his time on FD. Bet money has dried up so no reason to keep working for free. Or he’s realized he’s become the laughing stock of CT and the world with his media comments. Needs to erase as he rewinds, then re-record a better line of bologna.

I don't know where Dr. Baden is getting this info or if it's accurate. He has alot of connections. I do know that personally, I find him many cuts above Lee, Spitz, Wecht. My first ex sometimes worked with him when deaths occurred in a state run psychiatric facility for people charged with crimes. A facility that housed David Berkowitz, Son of Sam. Ex told me he is sharp, sharp, sharp. I hope his inside info is correct and that they find the blood to be that of JD. Sensing this may be a stunt on the part of FD though. MOO.

According to above link NEITHER are US citizens. Who paid for MT hospital visit? If she was bailed out first then she should pay for ER bills.

The Daily Mail does not always get all the facts straight. For instance in this article it says FD went home to New Canaan - obvi an error. I think the non citizen conjecture comes from when the judge was reading them their standard rights language "If you are not a citzen of the US etc etc ". I believe that was also read tp Mawhinny in court. So IMO I still don't know whether they ae citizens or not by info in this article. MOO

Agree with you. the BMW is not MT's either, it's clearly Bowman's. About the citizenship thing, it's sort of a disclaimer. I think FD and MT are both citizens. FD is a citizen from neutralization since he wasn't born here so he may be stripped of his citizenship but that rarely happens.

I think it may be a mistake also. I don't think it would be too soon to do a presumptive test, IMO. This case is most likely a priority. MOO.

Sure thing, it's from 2012 and was presumed to be a meteorite. Here's a link... Unfortunately though DM and a couple other news sources picked it up as a "UFO" story because that brings in more clicks and ad revenue. Whatever it was, it was big enough to be seen from ten miles away but was never found in a lake that's only 25ft deep.

An unidentified motorist who was near Bantam Lake called State Police at the Troop L barracks in Litchfield to report seeing the green, whale-sized object fall into the lake.

Such a report doesn’t necessarily suggest credibility—given that the motorist didn’t stick around and apparently didn’t call back—but an on-duty State Police trooper some 10 miles away in Warren also called the barracks to report seeing a large object fall from the sky over Bantam or Morris.
