I just checked the vid of her in back of car...seems to be the shot of her when she went to give interview to police last year.

:banghead: Thats what they keep replaying here in SA . I give up , time for a bex and a lay down or a few wines I think lol

I wonder why she was escorted by police? Why does she get special treatment?

Star witness?? Me thinks there may be more to come from TM when things go to trial.. Makes me wonder about the talk some time back of the possibility of immunity being sought for someone..

Thats normal, like they keep playing the same one of Gerard.

They dont exactly has a lot to choose from with Toni as she has kept herself well hidden away since.

Some forums & FB sites were very aggressive, for her own protection-was OW there?

Yes she was. Thinking posted this earlier.

3:26pm Marissa Calligeros: (Live from the Baden-Clay hearing) Investigative accountant Kelly Beckett has told the court Mr Baden-Clay owed $1.197 million on April 20, 2012.

He owed $330,000 to family and friends, and $840,000 to third-party creditors.

Yet his assets had a net equity of just $74,000.

"His business was in decline," Ms Beckett said.

"From January 2011, after the floods hit, his revenue severely depleted and he's never recovered.

"He had little ability to raise funds ... as he had very little collateral to offer as security."

Mr Baden-Clay was failing to make payments on his Westpac credit card, she said.

At the end of each month he was $1200 short on interest payments.

$25000 in two business accounts, who did he borrow that from? I'm pretty sure to be considered solvent you need to be paying debts as they fall due?

Regardless of what we all think of TM and her apparent lack of morals we have to remember that she didn't FORCE GBC to kill Allison. That was him. Even if it was accidental and the result of a heated argument it was still GBC who decided to hide the body etc and start this whole process. If he had any decency he could have ended the relationship with TM & genuinely tried to rebuild the trust with Allison.
To me the ball was always in HIS court. He can't keep going around blaming other people for how things turned out.

As someone said earlier, if it wasn't TM it would have been someone else. I guess you could say that someone else been saved from all of this because it was TM.

4.01pm: Mr Davis said Ms Beckett had not "bothered" to look at the income coming into the real estate business because she had not factored in commissions from property sales that were yet to settle.

"I suggest to you that if you were doing this analysis properly, you would look not just at the MYOB records ... but you would look also at the sales," he said.

"That would be proper accounting practise, wouldn't it?"

He said it was not true to say business had been "declining" for Baden-Clay since the January 2011 floods.

"Presumably there's nothing untoward about a real estate business fluctuating from month to month," he said.

But Ms Beckett said it was accurate. She said family members had later injected money back into the business.

She said he also stopped paying staff in the months before Allison disappeared.

Hi Strangeworld - I was there this morning and am just getting my notes together now. Wow! I just had to respond to your post - I am no psychologist nor any expert on human behaviour (just merely a very curious person aka sticky-beak) - and from what I saw this morning I sadly think you are 100% right - she still loves him IMO. Not one thought at any point in the past or present about Allison's feelings or fate - to TM, it is all about her and GBC's relationship and how hard it was on her.

Thank you for that Thinking. That was something I was wondering, did her crying seem for her, gbc or Allison, and now I have the answer. These two obviously live in a different realm than the norm.

That's it for today. Back tomorrow at 9.30am. #badenclay

Was it the magistrate at one of the very early court mentions, that was gobsmacked that it was going to take something like 5 months, for the forensic accountant to dissect the voluminous material in order to determine his fiscal position? How is it then, that the defence, (with one or two other small matters to concentrate on in the lead up to the committal hearing), can so simply assure the court that he was solvent? Are they just taking GBC's word for it?

What a day! A big thank you to our Twitter birds for the constant updates. It's very much appreciated.

I'm wondering when KiwiJayne's friend will be called to the stand? KJ mentioned that her friend would be cross-examined last Wednesday, or did I miss something?

OMG!! Guys, I am soooo sorry! My laptop just crashed and I've been desperately trying to get it restart - 4 attempts and I just managed to bring up IE but it's running very slow. So so sorry! I think I've been infected with BC's!!

I'm giong to run a virus check now - I'm sure someone's picked up twitter for today - I'll be back on shortly :)

Ok, I'm back - now to catch up on what I've missed!!

I can't believe the one time I'm on twitter duty and my computer dies - I think it was a memory issue - too many temporary internet files. No viruses showed up in Norton. Seems to be ok now. I am happy to sign on for twitter updates tomorrow - I'll be around most of the day.

I haven't read the latest posts yet, but thank you to whoever realised I was MIA and took over :)

4.11pm: Mr Davis said Ms Beckett had mixed Baden-Clay's finances together into the "one big pot".

"(It) becomes impossible to determine what the real asset and liability situation is," he said.

He said if Baden-Clay decided to walk away from the sales side of his real estate business, there would be very little impact on his finances.

Mr Davis also asked how Ms Beckett could determine that cash handed over to Baden-Clay by family members was a loan.

She said his parents Nigel and Elaine had kept records of money they had leant him, including a $38,000 loan and another for $20,000 from his brother Adam.

regardless of whether she forced GBC to kill Allison, we do know and we know it categorically, that she knew Allison was 'gone', 'missing' at lunchtime Friday.. so she by her own volition did nothing, said nothing, even though the police were asking for ANY information from ANYONE to call, no. Toni had information of the most pertinant , and she , by her own choice, said nothing until the police called her in. On Saturday.. thereby giving the killer a nice little head start. And even then, at that first interview she lied and lied and lied.. extending the killers capacity to hide evidence and collate stories and round up and debrief the children.

on those grounds, I call Toni for what she is.

Paragraph 193 of Kelly Becketts statement says their overall position at the date of Allisons death was approx $58,300 in debit (insolvency) which included money not available such as their super. From what the reports have been suggesting today, they talk about an overall credit of approx $74,000 ( solvency) so I don't know why the difference. It doesn't really matter anyway, whether they were insolvent or slightly solvent, they were in extreme financial distress.

I had a strong feeling that Davis would attack the forensic accountant's evidence with gusto. It is plainly clear to me that Mr. Davis does not understand all of those numbers put to him in evidence. The forensic accountant's hard work has Mr. Davis totally bamboozled. Toni McHugh had already stated that GBC had told her he was in debt for over $1million. Take that one on board Mr. Davis.

My opinion only and not that of Websleuths.
