Yup, $40.00 seems too little

Does anyone know why the 2nd woman arrested wasn't charged with murder?

Bcause there wasn't an intent to murder, it was a straight up robbery that went bad. Besides I' not sure DJ wasn't aware a murder had taken place until later that night or the next day. Will be interesting how she first heard of the killing.

Ah, so it says Gallmon is 5’ 10” and weighs approx. 170lb. That’s equal to the size of a medium build man. –She appears deceptively small and delicate in some of the photos. With her military training I am beginning to see why he didn’t stand a chance and why, I would wager, he is the only one with defensive wounds.

Yes, this doc has much info - thanks for finding and posting it, popsicle.

Yes, I agree. When looking at pics of her, I thought tall and very thin.
And they have video of them buying the twist ties, together

Its hard to wrap my head around the fact that she would kill this poor young man for $40.00
Did they discuss more? Or did she go there expecting $40.00 only?
So many lives destroyed

…Would this second arrest be a potential accessory to murder? - After the fact? I think the autopsy will reveal the intent, and viciousness of the crime. This imposter man / woman really knew about a certain vulnerability and how to play it. -And she had help? -And concealment afterwards?

Despite how tragic this is for this young man’s family, I hope this case goes to trial and gets national attention.

-Shine a light on the perils Craig’s List. To be targeted in this way, I think the LGBTQ community should be very concerned.

The LGBT "community" don't need to be any more concerned than any other group of sexually adventurous people who use classified ads to seek partners. These robberies occur every day in town and cities all over the US and are carried out by people posing as sex workers or interested in no strings hook ups. Those two young women thought they could profit from arranging to meet men and then rob them...it back fired spectacularly.

This Craigslist woman in San Antonio was shot and killed by the john she tried to rob.

This customer was killed by the boyfriend of the prostitute he hired.

How did she stab this man so viciously and remain blood free?
How could her girlfriend not notice blood?
She must have cut herself as LE found her blood on a door

I think girlfriend knew exactly what happened when it happened.. more than it went bad

I understand where you are coming from, but I see a much larger picture and my sympathy and empathy for David and his family will never falter. It is so not our place to judge!

I have really appreciated the posts here touching on the complexities of human sexuality. David, being a successful, prominent attorney at a huge international law firm was under so much pressure to represent the persona expected of him by our society. He certainly made risky choices, but those are choices he probably wouldn't have had to make if the LGBTQ community was accepted in the US (especially in professional careers). He was likely faced with the decision of losing everything he had worked his whole life for just to be himself. I see closeted people every single day in the legal world, some quite literally hiding the existence of their same-sex spouse because they feel they have to do that in order to have any progress or success in the field. I guarantee it's the same in other work environments, whether professional or not. I would bet there are an exponential number of people just like David who hide things about themselves, live a double life of sorts, in order to make their families proud, to earn a living, to achieve the stereotypical "American dream."

More than 1/3 of the LGBTQ community has attempted suicide (http://www.healthyplace.com/gender/...y-and-suicide-lgbt-suicide-–-a-serious-issue/). 1 in 5 LGBTQ citizens has reported a hate crime against them in the past 3 years, and it is estimated 75% of incidents go unreported (http://www.care2.com/causes/10-alarming-statistics-about-gay-hate-crimes.html). 40-50% of bi and gay men have experienced sexual violence (not including rape) (http://www.nclrights.org/sexual-assault-in-the-lgbt-community/).

So while we can certainly learn from David, to be cautious and responsible in our choices, to be open minded and accepting of others so they don't feel pressured to hide, we certainly have no room to condemn him. Everyone has their story, their issues, we are all going through something that puts us at risk. We all make bad decisions. David and his family paid the ultimate price and it is not our right to start dishing out blame.

David, I'm so sorry for the battles you had to face on this earth, and I'm sorry for the ways society let you down. Rest in peace, David. :candle:

Apologies for being long winded.

What? A bit too much of the hand wringing won't you say? Society did not let David down. A cruel twist of faith led to his demise. There was nothing preventing David from not marring a woman and instead living a gay life. He chose to marry a woman, because I believe he was bisexual and he liked the institution of marriage and all that goes with it. He’s no different from men who chose to marry women but are serial philanderers.

David just preferred to get his “freak on with men”…. Nothing wrong with that, well at least until S**t like this happens.
When I operated an escort service, my biggest requests next to a blonde or mature women (I guess 18 and a firm body aint all it’s cracked up to be) was a post op transgender. Back in the day we referred to my special ladies as transsexuals. And the customers requesting them? Straight men married or single. Some were clergy men, politicians, high flying executives, celebrities and then there was the macho Texas cowboy.

I think it was a hook-up. I think JG was trolling Craigslist that day looking for anyone (which is why LE is asking people to come forward who had contact with her via that email address).

They talked a few times that day via email. I'm sure she was "fishing" for information. I imagine it went something like this:

D: Meet me at the Donovan between 7 or 7:30
J: Woooo..the Donovan! That's a swank hotel! What are you, a politician or something?
D: No, I'm just a run-of-the-mill DC lawyer.

Bingo! Donovan+lawyer must = lots of $$$$!

I agree. I surprised they are not (yet) charging her as an accessory to murder.

I think that's all have on her for now that can stick, that she knew in advance about the robbery and participated in it by purchasing the zip ties and waiting for JG outside the hotel. Perhaps with more evidence, they will up the charges.

Does anyone think that its the GF in the video, near the lobby as JG is checking out the elevator?

Still curious about that 8-minute cellphone call later in the evening. If the two women were together for the crime, I'm assuming they were still together later that night. Who did JG talk to?

I didn't see DJ's twitter account - was it similar to JG's? Was was her mood like in Feb-Mar?

I could see DJ being in denial of exactly how "bad" it had gone until the news of his murder was released, hoping that the victim had only been injured.

I'm not defending their intention to rob somebody, or the murder that resulted, but so far I don't believe they meant to kill or physically hurt anyone. They clearly are not experienced criminals--allowing themselves to be caught on video all around the crime scene, using their own cell phones, using a stolen metrocard (they can also be tracked), and then talking to LE without lawyers.

I really do wonder how/why they chose to turn towards crime. The pictures I've seen don't seem to indicate recent heavy drug use which is often what turns otherwise decent people into criminals.

I think she gained weight from the time she was training to be a security guard and the murder. She is heavier looking in her booking photo and on the murder day video.

Newly married early 30's couple in an intentionally asexual relationship/marriage? Umm, right, okay.

<modsnip>

Do you think that one day when a person is in their 40's or 50's or 60's that they magically become A Sexual? Do you have to be a certain age or married for a certain length of time to one day become an A Sexual? Why is it so strange to you that a newlywed couple in their early 30's might just happen to be in a nonsexual / A sexual relationship??

No. Similar to how a person does not magically turn gay at age 40 or 50 or 70.

We all know now that David was clearly not A sexual but maybe Kim was. Maybe they entered into what would appear to be a heterosexual marriage but they had a secret understanding that no sex was ever going to happen because maybe Kim was A sexual.
Maybe they wanted to have children and pose as a straight mom and dad. A lot of gay couples do not want to have children as a gay couple for many reasons - one being that kids are very cruel and if a peer in their class has 2 daddy's or 2 mommy's they will be tormented. For years. So sometimes gay couples choose to pose as straight and get married for that reason. It is not uncommon at all.

I would disagree... I think they specifically targeted the male on male hook up ads thinking there would be much less chance of it being reported. Yes robberies happen everyday all over from straight hook up ads also but I think they probably felt more safe targeting male on male hookups knowing that there was a much better chance that those men would be even more embarrassed to come forward and report it. So they had more odds in their favor targeting male on male ads IMO.
