The discussion about Trump’s “fleets” is amazing.
In sum: Judge: WTF are fleets? Twitter lawyer: No idea (!) just heard about them today
Special counsel: WTF are fleets?! But also, you better give us all of Donald Trump’s fleets.

Weren't they twitter short videos, trying to copy popular features of IG, etc.? jmo

As part of a criminal investigation into Donald Trump's effort to overturn the 2020 U.S. presidential election, a federal judge asked if the company formerly known as Twitter was trying to "cozy up" to the ex-president by refusing to hand over data related to his account.

According to a court transcript that was made public Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell grilled Twitter's legal team during a hearing Feb. 7 over its delay in delivering the materials to special counsel Jack Smith, who had a search warrant for Trump's Twitter account.

According to the complaint, Shry admitted to Department of Homeland Security investigators she left the voicemail, which began, “Hey you stupid slave" followed by a racial epithet and then proceeded to threaten to kill anyone who went after Trump.

That list included Chutkan, Lee, “all Democrats in Washington D.C. and all people in the LGBTQ community,” investigators wrote.

“You are in our sights, we want to kill you,” Shry allegedly said at one point, later adding, “If Trump doesn’t get elected in 2024, we are coming to kill you, so tread lightly, b****.”

Hope this helps! Hope the links come out right....

Newly unsealed court transcripts reveal special counsel Jack Smith gained access to a number of the former president’s communications on Twitter, including his direct messages, searches, and draft tweets.

Prosecutors asked for “all content, records and other information” related to Trump’s account from Oct. 2020 to Jan. 2021, including location data, details on interactions between Trump and other users, and “all tweets created, drafted, favorited/liked,” retweeted or deleted.

NEW: Special Counsel's office notifies DC federal judge Tanya Chutkan that Jack Smith would like to file a "reply" to Donald Trump's request for April 2026 trial date Smith wants to file response in advance of the Monday August 28th hearing at which Chutkan will set trial date

JUST IN: Special counsel says Trump team is exaggerating the volume of discovery it has to review to prepare for Trump's trial in Washington. A signicant amount of the 12 million pages/files it has produced were already available to Trump, they say.

Special counsel says Trump team misleads when it suggests median duration of jury trial timing is 29.4 months from charges to completion, because:
1) That figure includes post-trial time through sentencing
2) It was drawn from just 22 trials amid height of COVID backlog

GOVERNMENT’S REPLY TO DEFENDANT’S RESPONSE IN OPPOSITION TO GOVERNMENT’S PROPOSED TRIAL CALENDAR

"...the burden of reviewing discovery cannot be measured by page count alone, & comparisons to the height of the Washington Monument and the length of a Tolstoy novel are neither helpful nor insightful; in fact, comparisons such as those are a distraction from the issue at hand."

Thanks! Trump is still going to have to pay his attorneys to review all that discovery. I'm looking forward to the Judge's decision!

I think for some people, Trump gives them a green light to be their worst selves and to them, it feels good. It makes them feel better to insult, humiliate, hate other people. Trump doesn't act the way most politicians do - he swears, he criticizes, he mocks, etc which manipulates people into believing he's 'just telling it like it is'. Every so often though, there is a slip to show it's a facade like "I love the poorly educated". And like any other predator, the most vulnerable are at biggest risk of being victimized, scammed and exploited. And it's sold as patriotism! He hates America, imo, because America doesn't show him due deference. He has always, even while hugging a flag, talked America down. It's actually rather perverse in my opinion.

But for other people, I don't think it's so much how Trump makes them feel as much as what Trump can do for their own thirst of ambition - for their bank accounts, notoriety, careers, elections, etc. Being tangetially related to Trump, clinging to his coattails, has made the right people an awful lot of money, influence and power. It was CBS CEO Les Moonves who stated in 2016 that Trump was good for ratings.

Ultimately, I think Trump offers something to everyone who supports him and for some people, it will simply be the offering of a community of like minded people - a feeling of acceptance.

But imagine how good America's enemies feel watching talk of civil war? When Americans are fighting each other instead of autocracy across the world? Autocracy is really at the core of the DC and Georgia cases - one man wanted unfettered power to overrule democracy itself because if he couldn't win power legitimately, he'd do anything he could to steal it.
