In the second picture, there is a bag that seems to have the word "longings" or something like that, off to the left side. Can anyone figure out what that might be?
It sure appears to be a standard hospital issued personal belongings bag that patients are given when they come in through the ER or go into a hospital in street clothes for a outpatient procedure.

Actually, Julia is in the picture. Jessica is the sister who is missing.

Did anyone else see the picture where he photo-swapped his own head for Jesus' in the Last Supper?

IMO, they have not forgotten that she was so ill that they voluntarily took her to BCH, where in fact her condition improved, not worsened --- but they are hoping all their gullible followers have forgotten that inconvenient truth.

Yes, and IMO, that tells any rational person all they need to know about the Rev. I hope Jesus is paying attention.

Oh, sorry. It's sometimes hard to keep the four Js straight. I had thought Julia was the blond one, who is missing from the Rev's photos.

Of course! Sorry I missed that. The word is Belongings.

Justina is undergoing surgery as of about 20 minutes ago.

It is also Passover - a very unlikely time to be having anything but emergency surgery after 5PM!

Did anyone else notice that in the hospital picture Rev Mahoney posted from 3/22 Justina did not have the NG feeding tube in place?

IMO, surgery after 5 pm on any weekend night, let alone Good Friday/Passover, must have been due to an emergency. Seems likely that many senior staff docs (not to mention nurses and other support staff) might be taking a holiday, leaving less experienced staffers to take over. It is not a time you would choose to have major surgery performed, if you had any other options.

But I wish we knew what "in surgery" really means. Fixing the cecostomy port? Doing a major colon resection or a colostomy? Who knows? Looking back at their exaggerations and hysteria over the past couple of years, we sadly see that this family is capable of describing clipping a hangnail as "amputating a finger."

Still, this does sound serious, and I hope it went well for Justina and that she is on the road to real recovery. Being frustrated and irritated with her family's behavior does not prevent us all from wishing the very best outcome for Justina.

Does anyone know in which hospital Justina had this surgery?
One of Rev. Mahoney's tweets mentions seeing the Pelletier family last weekend while in Connecticut, which suggests she may be in one of CTs many facilities.
There are 4 hospitals in Greater Hartford: Hartford Hospital and its affiliated CT Children's Hospital (where she was before going home in early 2014 and then made the midnight ride to BCH) , St. Francis and the Dempsey hospital that is part of the UConn Medical school and center These are all within 5 miles of the Pelletier home.
But of course, she might be back at Yale-New Haven or one of the other hospitals in the state. Or some other state.
That photo of Justina with her sisters suggests the hospital is an older one....the room and the blood pressure gauge look old-fashioned.
People on the Miracle site are begging for a hospital address to send cards to Justina. If the family responds, we'll know where she is now.

The family has a new post. They won't reveal what hospital she is in nor what the surgery was for. Paraphrasing: the doctors say the surgery went well; she is still in hospital; it is hoped that as a result of the 'procedure' her "gi pain will be gone or better"; won't reveal what the 'procedure' was or what hospital she is in. There is a little more. Says she will keep people updated.

I hope it is their much prayed-for (a year ago) Easter miracle. Really, I sincerely hope this cures her.

They certainly are under no obligation to reveal the procedure or where she is.
IMO, the current hospital may have asked them not to do so, as it would be deluged by cards and gifts and visits and other distractions that could slow down Justina's recovery and also make it difficult for the hospital to function normally.
But the level of hysteria and suspicion amongst their supporters has not abated, despite what seems like good news. One poor guy seems convinced that BCH somehow has the power to overrule the new hospital and interfere with Justina's new treatment. Others says the family should keep her whereabouts secret to protect her, but they don't say from what.
"Paranoia runs deep," as the song says.
But wouldn't it be something if the reason they won't name the hospital is because it's BCH, the one place where she actually did get somewhat better last year? I'm joking, of course, but with this case, nothing is too far-fetched to imagine.

Anyway, let's hope this finally does help Justina to get back to whatever is normal for her.

Related news: Beau Berman, the reporter for FOX CT - WTIC Channel 61 Television in the Hartford area, suddenly left the station last week, ostensibly because of "family issues" in Pittsburgh.
It was his reporting -- IMO sloppy and gullible and shockingly one-sided -- that launched a thousand stories about the "kidnapping" of Justina, which were often picked up "as is" by other media and countless blogs, all reinforcing the family's version of events with no corroboration of their wild claims and no opposing points of view.

If that story had never been done, I doubt this thread would even exist.

A new posting today on the Miracle site. Without giving precise information, it confirms that Justina had surgery recently because she had no other options...and that procedure is now reducing her pain and should continue to do that. That is good news.

IMO, it likely was a colostomy, which is not what any 16-YO girl would ever want (nor any adult, for that matter), but if it finally puts her GI issues to rest, it would be justified.

Of course, the family is still blaming BCH and Mass DCF for causing all her problems, despite the fact that those problems all existed before she ever stepped foot into BCH and were in fact somewhat improved immediately after her treatment at BCH. They worsened dramatically after she returned to her family's care. IMO, they are never ever going to take any responsibility for Justina's convoluted medical history or for her long stay at BCH (which was due to the family shooting down any attempts to move her from BCH to a non-medical facility for months and months, before finally agreeing to have her moved.)

A new post on the Miracle site from the two Republican state reps in Mass who got on the Justina train last year. They are announcing that the Mass. House of Reps has unanimously passed their amendment establishing a commission to study medical abuse claims, research and assess the cost of the case and the evidence and reasoning that led DCF to take Justina and research the 51A statute and the families who have been impacted.

But if they really do an honest evaluation of the evidence, they are, IMO, in for a shock.

I'm tempted to send them a message refuting some of what they say in the post....like the old disproven canard that it was BCH that made Justina stay in the hospital for 16 months, when it is well known that it was the family's objections to moving her to a nonmedical facility for a short while before sending her home that caused the 16-month delay.

But really, what's the use. They've drunk the Pelletier Kool-Aid. Deeply.
