In my apt. complex Marshall's car is around at least once a week, if not twice. Management wants tenants in or out, they want that money.
So when The Marshall says on this interview http://www.wusa9.com/story/news/local/2014/04/09/kahlil-tatum-dc-eviction-relisha-rudd/7502837 - he
believes police had checked facility before he is incorrect, correct?
So it's possible that (3500 Hayes) could have been searched while Tatum' was still alive and not 9/10/11 days after his death? These are MPD very own court records.

That is a good question.
The list of warrants that was listed on the Washington Post news article dated March 31 did not include this address, so that could mean one of two things. LE didn't know about the address on March 21-22 when they processed warrants for the other places, or the news station was asked not to include that one in their report.
Considering all of the confusion with the family giving differing answers, finding AT dead, and the changing vehicles in the Amber Alerts, all in a very short time period, it is very possible that this place was missed first time around.
I have not been able to find anything on-line where you can see search warrants that have been issued. If its there it is well hidden. I found where you can view individual arrest warrants but not for property searches. Possibly, warrants are only viewable if you go to the court house in person and I although I dont know for sure, I believe that you can only view them once they have been executed and returned.
Your phone call may have been the catalyst in the search at this location.
As far as the comment about "believes police had checked" doesn't really tell us anything except what the person thought happened. So, yes it is possible that this place had been search before, but unless LE went in under emergency situation or the complex owner let them in I think that without a warrant, the question is still very much an open one.
In looking back at what LE did find at the various places they searched, the Tatums also had a storage unit. It was in ATs name but he was allowed access. According the search warrant, executed on March 23, the auto pay was good through the month of March for this storage unit. The warrant, covered basically anything that would provide evidence or possible clues to evidence, but the actual inventory of what was taken was extremely sparse; mail matter and photos. The cost of this unit, according to the facility website, was $205.00 per month. It was a 7.5 x 10 space and climate controlled. It also was not the smallest space they could have rented. Of course just because the warrant only shows mail and photos does not mean that was all that was in the unit. They dont have to do an inventory of everything in it, only what they remove.
It might be that in looking through the mail matter from this search LE found information about the Hayes Street location, they may even have found that it was scheduled for eviction and where able to do a search without a warrant so that is why it wasnt included in any warrant list reported in any news article. The only reason we may know anything about this at all is that a news crew caught wind Marshals were at this location and it had something to do with Tatum.
Without legal knowledge or a comprehension of local laws this is pretty much just all speculation on my part.
