It think the "Amy is going out tonight" comment was part of an everyday conversation the two had when they were in person. That's how I originally took it. I'd like to see a friend or associate's of Amy's speak up and confirm s/he had plans with Amy that were canceled Wednesday night. I would think that if Amy were indeed going out (which seems to fit her social reputation), she would go out with someone and not alone. So, did that person receive a phone call or text from Amy to cancel or was the person stood up?

We only know this info because NG said the conversation happened. It's possible Amy had no plans to go out and NG concocted the story. At this point, I'm still believing NG but the schedule of her week is nagging at me.

I didn't think so before, but I now think SS saying Amy was in bed all day Wednesday is a clue, either for NG to be concerned or later for LE to figure out the happenings of the day. If he says Amy was in bed all day, maybe that's a clue to LE that any withdrawal from the bank on Wednesday was NOT by Amy. ???

I do not suspect SS and NG were having an affair.

I thought what she said was that SS told her Amy was going out Wednesday (not Wednesday night), so that when he later said Amy had been home sick in bed all day, that struck her as strange because it was inconsistent with SS's earlier statement that she was going out Tuesday (daytime). MOO

On Wednesday night, Savvas Savopoulos left a voicemail for one of the housekeepers, saying she should not come in Thursday because his wife Amy was sick, ABC News reported Monday.

Savvas Savopoulos had told Gutierrez on Wednesday that his wife had plans to go out. But in the voicemail that night, he said Amy Savopoulos had been sick in bed, according to The Associated Press.

NG has thrown in a lot of irrelevant details in her narrative. Whether Amy had plans to go out or not on Wed. has nothing to do with the housekeeper's job.

I think he burned it to erase any possible evidence, but I also think he burned it because he's a jerk.

The perp "overkills" and burning the car fits the pattern of going overboard with the violence and destruction. I think he is destructive and cruel simply because he can be.

I really do agree with you. At one time if the murders were what is considered overkills and sadistic it was thought to have been done by someone known to the victims. That is no longer the case. It doesn't matter if the victims knew their murderer or not. Even strangers are doing heinous depraved overkills on victims they don't even know from rapes, to torture wanting the victims to suffer in immense pain before death.

And I agree with you on the reason its happening. They know the victims are at their mercy and these people, known to the victims or not, have no mercy at all. They do these horrible twisted things just because they can. Its really frightening to think about.

The mom/wife, Amy, was an attractive woman and I have even wondered if the perp or perps raped her repeatedly right in front of her husband and child? I know its a terrible thing to even think about but it sure has happened in other cases of home invasions.

At least Jennifer took advantage of the opportunity to let the bank know the family was in danger. I have to wonder why SS was so vague and the only logical reason would be that he was told what to say.

Yet it seems SS was a puppet in their hands as he obeyed their wishes about who to call and what to say. Yet, we are led to believe that for all that time, he had the fortitude to withhold that "certain something" that would end the nightmare?????

If the police know what they wanted, they know why they came. That's a big deal. If they know they were successful, they know a lot more of the story at this point then currently revealed.

But then again, this could just be an assumption or a careless turn of phrase. Too much of that these days in journalism.

In the Clutter family murders of 50 years ago, the killers were told Mr. Clutter kept large sums of cash in a safe. That turned out to be untrue and they killed the family anyway. We'll probably never know what really went down unless the killer gives an allocution in exchange for a plea.

The reporting has been absolutely atrocious, in person and in print. It's fascinating how much different "gave them whatever they wanted" is from "gave them what they wanted". I firmly believe, at the time the statement was made, LEOs and reporters did not know what compelled the suspects to burn the place and depart.
