Wallace has not been charged with a crime, and court documents do not name him as a suspect.

Which is why I think he was mad at SS. The downward spiral couldn't be his own fault so probably blamed SS.

I think his life was spiraling downward. His and his brothers experiences at AIW put SS on his radar. He lived close by. His house seemed easily accessible. Very expensive cars, vacation homes, highly thought of member of the community , a respected man. To DW an easy target. Kick in the door and hold a knife to his beautiful wife's throat and he can get some money

I think the $40 range came from the New York Iron works settlement. Washington DC welders don't make that much.
Here are BLS figures for DC:
State Employment (1) Employment per thousand jobs Location quotient (9) Hourly mean wage Annual mean wage (2)

District of Columbia 60 0.10 0.03 $27.59 $57,390

That's where I got it. Thanks for correcting. Anyhoo, not minimum wage.

With no more arrests, I'm starting to wonder if DM didn't really do this by himself.

We can test that theory. If we go with DW thinking this up, breaking into the house, being able to control those in it for 18 hours, killing all four, setting the fire, driving the Porsche away and torching it---how do the facts as we know them fit? And what questions would we still have? What is difficult to explain if we try to support this theory?

I'll go first:
DW solo matching up to a fact--
1) Despite numerous search warrants, interviews with the convoy gang, a nearly three weeks long investigation involving ATA, Secret Service, FBI, and police, he is the only one who has been arrested (as Kali points out)

Question:

1) Why did investigators maintain that the crimes would have required the presence and assistance of others?
2) How did DW get to the house?

I think reasonable answers could be found.

Any one else want to take a whack at this? Include motive, what the plan might have been initially, logistics, evidence we know about so far, and account for any known facts, witness statements, LE statements while we all acknowledge discrepancies will exist, lots of stuff we don't know yet, and LE well might be revising earlier thinking.

We should be able to put together a good theoretical case between us for DW having acted alone--except for whatever practical assistance he was offered by unwitting pals post-crime.

Posing hypotheticals only (PHO)

If more killers are lose, I hope the citizens of D.C. are warned. No pressers scheduled?
I do think the family was the main target.

Obvious to me this maniac is out of control
I am amazed that he wasn't already doing time for murder
Completely out of control

I think the arrests will come from GJ charges. jmo

I can't see an employee of the family calling LE without something very explicit. This goes for both NG and VF's husband. If they bring the police out to the house for nothing they could be fired for embarrassing the family, or at least that would be their fear.

How would a call to police requesting a welfare check possibly embarrass a family? And why would someone be fired for sincerely caring enough to make such a call? That doesn't make any sense. In this case, I think there are quite a few people wishing they had done just that.

Pamela Brown (CNN) once again elaborated with her story on the case stating there was "more than $40,000 in the truck." This was after she had previously stated that the take from the crime was only $40,000.

Do have a link to this specific story, thanks,

$40,000 was what the take was from SS contacting the bank. I suspect DW did get some jewelry, coins and cash from the home.

I just have to say: Why are those SW returns so sloppy? Why don't they type them up with better details and descriptions? Like what denominations and what amount of US Currency was found...

I wonder how much was left behind? And where it was. Maybe it was accidentally left. Maybe it had been overlooked ?

I saw it on the "to be searched for" in affidavit to search the home. Has the return been unsealed?
TIA

Not what we are use to seeing for sure but maybe it is related to MPD being seriously understaffed. Hiring while maintaining hiring standards has been a huge problem while trying to keep up with just those retiring.
