Great questions! I'm also curious as to why he still had the white bucket. He had several hours to hide the money (and any other possessions) and dispose of the security tape. Did he take the bucket to the S house, or get the bucket, from a friend or relative's house, after the fact? LE were photographed leaving his dad's house, carrying similar white buckets, during search. The bucket is odd, in that if he brought it to transport goods from the crime scene, why a bucket? A large backpack, duffle bag, or something similar, would be much less conspicuous (easier to transport, as well). Also, if he had accomplices, how did they flee from the scene of the crime? If he had accomplices, why wouldn't they have stolen one of the other vehicles? IMO, a white RR would not have been so noticeable. They are everywhere, especially in a prominent neighborhood. They could have moved those vehicles out of there, during the night...and taken to a chop shop, long before anyone had reported them. Sadly, the security tape is probably sitting in a landfill, at this point.

But if he was trying to blend in and look like a worker in green vests when he went to the door then a bucket would look less suspicious than a duffel bag.

Random thought: what if DW worked for the builder or subcontractor. He'd know the property, know any routines, know it was SS house.

Also he may have needed a bucked for the gas if they did siphon vehicles.

Got a reminder last night about Wint hanging out for some time after the crime. Thanks

Wint must have thought he pulled off the perfect crime and wouldn't be caught. A witness places Wint at his fathers steps after the crime had occured.

<snips> The story is worth a re-read.

"As police continued their hunt, JB, 31, a neighbor of the suspect's father, said he spotted Wint 'a day' after the slayings sitting outside his father's home.

Mr B, who lives opposite 57-year-old DB in the DC suburb of Lanham, said: 'I saw him just a couple of days ago - possibly just a day after it all happened.

'I was in and out and I saw him just sitting on the steps for an hour or so. He was just being quiet.

'He looked like he was just sitting and thinking. He had on a white-cut off shirt and black pants. He's a big guy and he's very strong.

'To see him sitting there after everything that had happened, it's very scary. I hope I never see him again.'

From another story

"DZ, who lives on the same street as Wint’s parents in Lanham, said she would occasionally see Wint sitting on the porch steps but that it didn’t appear he lived there full time. She said Wint’s father and his wife, Pamela, moved in about a decade ago. Wednesday night, police searched the split-level house."

So there's another SW we haven't seen.

So correct me if I'm wrong please. It was 23-25 miles to wints fathers location and the Porsche supposedly left the SS home around 1:15pm. I don't know how long it would take to get to the fathers home location. I'd suspect the Porsche arrived in Lanham, MD around 1:45 - 2pm Thursday.

I'd further speculate the Porsche contained the loot from the robbery and possibly the security system DVR. Plus the 40k blood money. That gives DW almost 3 1/2 hours to secure the 40k, whatever valuables before the car is burned to destroy whatever evidence exist in the Porsche.

Then wint gets confident and coy, hanging around his Dad's home as if nothing ever happened. Until the heat got to him and he fled for another state.

Sorry for the rambling and run on, speculating here. News story links contain names of others not involved.

So how did wint get to the bus station while fleeing?
Where did DW live if he didn't live at his fathers home?
Were those other locations (if any) searched?
Was he identified on the bus to NY?

No way would he get to Lanham in less than an hour. Traffic here is god awful. Might have taken 30 minutes just to get to New York Avenue from S house.

But if he was trying to blend in and look like a worker in green vests when he went to the door then a bucket would look less suspicious than a duffel bag.

Which begs the question - were the green vests already in the garage? Did DW wear a green vest to the house? Did he bring the ones in the garage with him? Were there vests in the garage AND DW wore won to the house - coincidence or plan? Did he only wear it when he left in the Porsche?

I think the contractor had a really small crew, hired as needed per job. Do you think SS would know if DW was working on his house? Even if SS didn't know about the machete at the shell station, if he was as difficult an employee at AIW as has been reported, SS might remember him even after 10 years.

Somebody works for a builder/contractor. Somebody VERY close. Don't know if this person's company was contracted for Woodland Drive or the dojo. But the connection is very interesting, to say the least.

Contracted for both per AS's voicemail to NG and sign shown in S driveway.

Maybe but if the contractor who "of course" was running late on dojo and garage picked up day laborer or random as needed folks that weren't regulars, SS wouldn't know as he's not sitting home managing the work on the daily. This might have reminded DW of his hate for SS. The contractor's address is DC---not based near where DW lived. Not sure if day laborers commute very far or not or how that all works.

If we run background check on DW would employment history show up? Or do contractors pay in cash / under the table?

I agree, someone had to drive him somewhere at some point. They may have been unaware of what he had just done - pretty cool cucumber if he can just hang out on his dad's porch a day later enjoying the breeze. I'd think he'd smell like gasoline, though, if he poured it on the victims, the house and then the car, after driving around with it inside the Porsche. When we have a plugged can of gas in our garage, it makes the whole place reek! I think it's also likely someone who knew him/could identify him saw him driving Porsche between the house fire and the car fire.

Looking at several pieces here and don't have an exact address for DW's fathers home in Landham, md. I do have a route listing 15.1 miles on google earth and from a news article posted earlier there's this snippet.

"Police have appealed to the public for help finding Wint, who is from Lanham, Maryland, which is about 15 miles from the Savopouloses' home." That seems like a long way to be walking if you're alone.

Who knows w DW? Might have showered and changed into SS's workout gear!

DW could have known someone very well who was working that job.

Contractors usually go to the nearest Home Depot/Lowes early in the morning to pick up folks on an as-needed basis, and usually not for skilled work but in cases where they really need an extra set of strong hands. They also have a 'regular' crew of skilled people with whom they have a long-term relationship. I think the day laborers usually only travel as far as the closest place they can to connect with contractors. It's doubtful that such work would show up on an employment history, and day laborers here are largely immigrants. At least that's the way it works down around where I live.

IMO if the contractor knew Wint he most certainly would have spoken to police about it and if he did not, police would have eventually spoken to the contractor as they followed up on all their leads including employees at AIW Chantilly, the dojo and AIW Hyattsville.

I would really like to know what JW bought at Lowe's and if he went to the dojo when he left the hardware store. Seems odd that MSM hasn't published where he was specifically, from the time he left Lowe's. It appears he was in Virginia when he called AS' phone. Do we know anything else? Do we know for sure that he ever arrived at the S house after the fire? Do we know for sure that's where LE picked him up?

<modsnip>

Lastly, why did US Attorney Cohen unseal these particular warrants? He's the one who asked that they be sealed initially. There must be dozens of other warrants, so why unseal these particular ones?

This is a great post rkf, I've been thinking about it ... and believe there must be some strategy behind it. IDK, are there any Lawyers on this thread with a opinion?

Hopefully it was sent to a cloud but DVR's require a number of locks and keys (metaphorically speaking) to make them work properly. Not to mention server addressing information can change with resets or power outages, disabling a number of features. I wouldn't hang my hat on that DVR sending to a cloud until they say.

Anyone have any pics of SS home that might show an alarm company sign in the yard or window? You know..."protected by xyz"

He was seen on New York Ave at 1:30, 15 min after departing Woodland Dr. From New York Ave. to Lanham is a breeze at 1:30, a half hour to drive about 13 miles.

Not with all the construction going on on NY Ave. How do we know exactly what time DW left Woodland Dr?

Fire reported at 1:24 He would have left only minutes before because the fire was started with accelerant.
