Here you can see the e-mail exchange that they claim proves they were invited. This link should take you to a page where you can open up a PDF file.

I only skimmed this briefly so may be wrong, but all I see is the Pentagon woman trying to get them tickets but not promising anything, and she never gets them tickets and they show up anyway and get in, sending an e-mail later claiming that they were on the list.

ETA: Okay, there is one e-mail from the Pentagon woman supposedly saying that she is glad they had a great time. ??? I still don't see an e-mail from her that says "you have tickets and are cleared to go."

I've never been to a Whitehouse dinner but I have been to some important events and you get an invitation that says your name and what time, where, if it's formal and most people keeps those as souvenirs. This to me was not an invitation. It says maybe, she would try. It's like going to the airport and expecting to get on a plane when you don't have a boarding pass.

This, my friend, is the post of the day.

They were not confirmed. They conveniently missed an important phone call saying they were not invited to the dinner and showed up anyway. Get your bag, Honey, we're going to a party!

Apparently crashed an NFL cheerleader event --

"Several former cheerleaders said in interviews that Michaele Salahi's presence at a rehearsal drew attention because of the TV cameras, but also suspicion because no one seemed to remember her as a cheerleader for the team.

"Their doubts were heightened when Salahi couldn't perform some of the basic cheerleader routines, including the standard choreography for the team's fight song, 'Hail to the Redskins.'"

i think they knew exactly what they were doing...he is such a little stinker trying to pry her for info. as to what entrance etc.

another thing that bugs me is that a special assistant to the Secretary of Defense White House Liaison doesn't know the difference between "hear" and "here"!

A member of the WH staff for the current and previous administrations appeared on HLN (Nancy Grace?) last night. Apparently, her "eye for detail" and organizational skills were not only unappreciated by WH social secretary, Desiree Rogers, they were abrasive to Rogers' style. The staffer alluded to some animosity, but never stated it forthrightly. She was forbidden from discharging many of the duties to which she was accustomed and consequently found the job completely redefined and dissatisfying. She took advantage of her govt-employed husband's assignment to a different state to justify tendering her resignation (without burning a bridge).

In the Senate hearing today regarding the actions of the Salahis, someone (Secret Svc?) ventured that the party crashing incident likely wouldn't have happened if a certain station had been occupied by a WH staffer as it was in years past. Sounds like he was referring to the aforementioned WH staffer. I think the current WH staff dropped the ball, but the buck stops with the U.S. Secret Service, and they are appropriately and responsibly taking the fall.

I remember hearing in the early days of the Obama administration that they wanted the WH to be more open, more accessible. I wondered then if someone would think that meant they could just stroll across the lawn or pop in at their leisure. I guess at least one couple did. Best to let the Secret Service have the ultimate (and dispassionate) authority in issues of security and the WH social staff can smooth any feathers ruffled in the process.

Yeah, and if I'm not misunderstanding, he was trying to wheedle tickets for the dinner itself, also, by pointing out several people that he knew would not be in attendance (hint, hint, why can't I go instead?).

I have read nothing about these people that gives them the slightest touch of class.
they actually nauseate me.

I am only interested in the breech of security, because it seems to me that is what's most important.

These folks in My book are just gutter that does not look like trash. The difference between a con and a
con is still a con.

"The Indian Embassy canceled that nation's participation in the Polo Cup's 2010 event. The couple has advertised that event will take place on the Mall, but the National Park Service said the Salahis had not been granted a permit."

So, what were they going to do, show up in their polo outfits at the Mall and claim they thought they had reservations?

I just can't stop reading about this even though I know it is giving them attention, which is what they wanted. However, I hope they are realizing that their little stunt shed light into their finances that perhaps they didn't want. I'm just amazed at how aggressive they were in those e-mails to Ms. Jones (the Pentagon woman). Something about it fascinates me...but not in a good way. They are attention seekers.

that is fantastic, I think 'll go knock on the door and tell him every state is short on LE; every state is short on PO, every court house is overcrowded, understaffed and overworked. We are losing our kids to mental cases and we need more jobs now on the force. Well maybe they will let me in if I have my party gear on, I sure can look the part too :furious:
The security is in question but if he cant watch his own house, can he watch ours?:waitasec:

Someone on the panel on the Joy Beher show just said we should send them to Afghanistan since they're so good at sneaking around - they can sneak into a cave and capture Osama bin Laden.

I read that they have had cameras following them since September, supposedly as part of the reality show they want to be on. Mrs. Salahi had the reality cameras with her when she crashed the Redskins alumni cheerleader thing, even.

I am following this just because I would like to see if they are ever subpoenaed or given any sort of punishment for this, at least as a deterrent to others. Most assuredly I will NOT be watching any show they might be on - unless it is of them getting booked!

How could the producers from Bravo just believe their word? Wouldn't they have wanted to see the invitation? Something isn't adding up here. From what I understand they were a no show at a congressional hearing they had for them the other day. I still don't know if the ate or not do you?

They have to bring back a picture and put it on their facebook page right.

My understanding is that they did not stay for the dinner because there were no place cards for them. They had to leave at that point or risk being kicked out right then.

These people are just well dressed grifters.

There are dozens of articles online now about their Journey for the Cure Foundation.

Here is one of the articles. Salahis' Polo Charity under Scrutiny

They have scammed dozens of individual and small company vendors, dozens of people who think their money is going to some charity. They belong in jail, they are just crooks. Its not like they have robbed the rich to give to the poor, they are just greedy, arrogant, crooks.

And, the White House needs to get with it and step up the workings of the house social staff. They should have known who was at their party.

These two simply have no shame whatsoever. Well, if the Congressional hearing does not get them, I think the Donald will...

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/tvblog/2009/12/donald-trump-irked-at-michaele.html

"This is disgusting," Trump said when he learned of the Salahi Miss Universe ruse. He also called it an affront to all the women who work so hard through the "huge process" it takes to become Miss USA.

"This tells us they are total phonies," he said of the Salahis.

Trump said his people "come down very hard" on anyone who tries to pass themselves off as a winner of one of his pageants, in order to protect the franchise.

I can't understand them because they seem to crave attention, yet they have this history of shady doings that they don't seem to realize will come to light once they get that attention. They really don't mind people finding out about the court cases, "charities," and other crashings?

BBM - This is absolutely correct. IMO, it is basic Events 101 - when you have a high profile event like this, you ALWAYS have a master guest list and someone at the door checking people against the list. This is not rocket science. IMO, Desiree Rogers is enthralled with her position as social secretary and has forgotten one of the number one rules of events - you are an employee, someone to make sure things go flawlessly - you are NOT a guest and therefore you shouldn't behave like one. It blows my mind that she would think differently.
