Being a notorious killer has been a lucrative deal for jodi. I had wondered about the money that she is sent to her inmate acct for commissary. I know there are limits on what she can get and what she can spend but I don;t have those figures right now. But I am really interested in knowing of the prison can garnish/confiscate a percentage of that money to pay any restitution. here is what I found.
Q: Can the Dept. of Corrections deduct money from an inmate's spendable account that has been sent to him from his family or friends on the outside to pay for court ordered restitution? In other words, can they deduct money for restitution owed from anything but a prisoner's earned wages? Previously; no. Now, a statute allows them to do so. Under A.R.S. 31-230, it now permits the DOC to deduct a minimum of 20%, up to 50%; of all monies in a prisoner's spendable account in order to pay court-ordered restitution. Once you send money to a prisoner's account, it becomes his/her "property," and is subject to court-ordered and other deductions. It isn't your money anymore once you deposit it to a prisoner's account. (

So I sincerely hope that the Alexander family sues jodi and is awarded a monetary judgement that comes from her commissary acct.. That would mean that jodi would get less money to spend on her commissary.
Also, jodi may think she is she will be little popular in her new home but very often notorious prisoners and/or those with a healthy commissary balance are targeted by those who are bigger than them. I think jodi is going to be in for a rude awakening. I know the loss of phone privileges has to be driving her nuts.
