You have to read down to the end of the article but snipped for convenience:

Christina Baez, a college student who works for her father, said the recordings may contain information that might obstruct the search for Caylee, but she wouldn't elaborate

I personally have always thought that was the connection.... or how Casey "knew" of him. Imhoo of course.

Hiya nursie. :)
Yeppers, I remember that.
The answer we all got tho was that casey asked some of the other women in the pen who a good attorney was. Maybe when someone said baez, she recalled knowing Christina?

While I wholeheartedly believe that Casey Anthony murdered her daughter Caylee in a clearly evil, emotionally detached and deliberate manner, I also believe that she is entitled to receive a fair trial. I fail to comprehend how she can receive a fair trial when she has an inexperienced buffoon serving as her attorney and a convicted felon churning out PR on her behalf. At the very least, Casey requires the services of a highly reputable, qualified and greatly experienced criminal defense attorney.

what would be wrong with a public defender. Like other indigent accused?:waitasec:

:cow: moo

That has been my opinion all along. It almost looks like he is doing some of this stuff on purpose - anybody who watches TV knows better.

EXACTLY! YES, JB:mad: is doing ALL this on PURPOSE....pushing all buttons so kc can have appeals. :boohoo: JB knows kc will get a guilty verdict and this will make JB a hero for the appeals...........:furious:

*No* to a new lawyer... a real lawyer might plead her out to manslaughter claiming accident & she'd only do 3-5 yrs in prison (atty Daniel Horowitz gave scenario like this on NG).

I think she'll be convicted no matter who the lawyer is, & an appeal will not be granted based upon ineptitude of counsel because of the infamous legal team Baez has assembled.
:gavel:

I voted that Casey needs a new attorney for one reason only. I believe Casey will be convicted no matter who she has for an attorney. But, an ineffective attorney, like JB, is going to give Casey the grounds for an appeal. It will cost taxpayers a lot of money if there's lengthy appeals.

HECK YES SHE needs a new lawyer!

I don't want her to have any outs after she gets LWOP..

I voted don't care, because I dont what happens to KC. Let her keep him, he's inexperienced, maybe he will ruin her defense and the prosecution will win. JMHO.

Casey won't get rid of Baez but even if she wanted to I don't think it is that easy to fire your attorney at this point. He's probably as good as some other defense attorneys that we've seen. Look at the bull that ole "Hollywood" pulled in Scott Peterson's trial. He pulled things...the boat...that I really thought he should have gotten taken to the cleaners for. He didn't have one defense but several. He was a real loser and he was supposed to be such a hot shot attorney...ICK. I'm sure that Scott has an appeal in but it won't go anywhere.

Baez has a lot of people to help him with this case like LKB. I don't think it will make any difference who represents her...she is going to be found guilty.

I wonder just how many people who are found guilty say it was becasue their attorney was worthless? You rarely hear of it working in an appeal.

Does anyone think that, just before this case goes to trial, a high powered attorny will step forward as the lead and JB will co-chair the defense. With all the well known names for the defense so far, money seems to be no object?

I voted Not Sure because when you think about it he has accomplished some things. He has certainly got KC to keep her mouth shut. No more lies out of her. Also, by some hook or crook he has managed to assemble quite an impressive team. I still think she will be found guilty no matter where the case is tried.

Also, does anybody know or has it been revealed whether or not JB has gotten the secure server he said he would get so that the autopsy photos could be released to him? I have heard no mention of it, but maybe I just missed it. He's certainly had enough time, but I wonder if he's had enough money. I think that every one of these silly motions he files has to be accompanied by his check for the filing fees so he has been putting out some money up front for quite a while.

Casey sees Baez as her Knight in shining armor and there is no way she would let him go. I don't know why he even considered taking her case as she lied to him from the very beginning when she told him she had $5,000 and didn't. Right then should have been a red flag for him. But he wanted the media exposure and good or bad, he's getting it. I think that is the only reason he took the case. He expects big things in his future and in my opinion no one will want him for their attorney after this case is over.

I really don't understand the constant touches, smiles and things that happen between a lawyer and a client. I don't feel in my heart that there is nothing going on between these two. I have had a couple of lawyers (not the criminal kind) and cannot imagine one hugging on me to giving me little looks and smiles. Well, maybe when I paid him I might get a handshake.

I think this might be a real possibility. I hope it's not Tom Meserole(sp); she might walk if it is. For now, JB is fine, but I think all concerned would be smart to let a more experienced attorney take the lead.

I think so! I have never thought JB would handle this at trial and have stated that with all the money for forensic experts - it is ridiculous to assume there is not money for criminal defense specialists!

I agree and think there will be probably more than one. Any ideas on who they might be?

I really don't have any ideas on who it might be - wish I did, but don't. I think when we do see who it is - then it will be a clue as to what the strategy may be. Like if Alan Dershowitz shows up:eek: then it would be a long trial for LE and etc..

Snipped by me

I don't think he cares who he alienates because he doesn't intend to actually practice law, locally, after Casey's trial. I believe he thinks he will be able to catapult himself either into a Geraldo, Nancy Grace role or onto another high profile defense team. Realistic ? I don't think so.

A shows longevity is based on ratings. Really cool content can be destroyed in ratings if the host says Uhhhhh, or Ummmmm before every sentence. The hosts bumbling becomes the focal point instead of the brilliant research and material. JB, while not particularly unlikeable, does not have the likeability needed to capture an audience for future episodes.

I also do not see high profile attorneys wanting to bring him onto the team. He brings little to the table besides his new BFF's, Geralso and the dream team. Once the income potential from him has dried up, they may not be inviting him over for boat rides and Dom anymore.
