Earlier in this thread, I posted that I thought that Cindy was "bargaining with G-d". I also think that Cindy is relying on "magical thinking" to help her deal with the reality of a major crisis. Both suggest to me a person who is mentally unstable and unable to cope rationally with overwhelming grief and guilt. In many ways, I'm angry about Cindy's ongoing efforts to defend Casey's behavior, but I'm also sad that Cindy won't seek the services of a caring professional who would help her through this very troubling experience. Until she admits that she needs help in dealing with this life-altering situation, Cindy will never have peace of mind, body, or soul. jmo
You don't find narcissists visiting counselors for themselves...one reason why it isnt easily diagnosed. A counselor will come across it when the client is there to help them handle/control another person and THAT person has problems.
