Dylan Redwine's father arrested in connection to son's death 22 July 2017

I think the photos may have had an impact because , IIRC, this was the first time that poor Dylan was going to be alone, spending time with his father since they had discovered the pictures. And I do believe that this horrid man may have tried to discuss the situation, explain or justify things, and that cannot be done easily---especially with a young teen. It had to be incredibly confusing and horrifying for him.

I remember learning about my father's cheating ways, when my parents were divorcing. My Mom never told me but my Aunt and uncle did and I was very angry at my Dad. I was so mad at him when he would try and 'explain' himself, and would bring around his new girlfriend. I did mouth off at him and said cruel things to hurt him because I resented the situation.

Luckily for me my father was a kind and loving man, and was not homicidal nor violent.

But I can see Dylan reacting in a similar way. I think he just wanted to go to his friends house and probably said so, which angered his nutty father even more. I think the pictures were just the straw that broke the camels back.

Why did it take this long for this day to come with that much evidence?!?

That is a very good question. It seems to me the evidence has been available for a while, it makes no sense. I have in the past had LE tell me that certain DAs are only willing to go forward with slam dunk cases (in my area) so maybe that was the issue.

Maybe not first but he got around to it quickly. Seems there was ample evidence to have indicted sooner and why the previous DA did not is anybody's guess.

I always thought he was a horrible liar. I defended him and thought Elaine was being extremely cruel by coming out of the gate swinging at him until his first press conference. I switched sides in a hurry.

Again we see another "court ordered Daddy-time" (sanctioned abuse, in my opinion) in the guise of maintaining parental rights?. WRONG!!! I feel so badly for this beautiful, strong Mother who tried to cut ties with this monster. But, the court system allowed him to hurt her anyway he could....via the love she had for her child. My heart is breaking, and breaking, and breaking....

I'm struggling. My son is the same age as Dylan and when I first heard this story (up until the part where Dylan went missing) there was so much about Dylan and Elaine's journeys that resonated with me because of our own experiences.

There are so often giant waving red flags in cases like this, and safe parents attempting to protect their children are sometimes hamstrung by the same system that is charged to act in the best interests of the child.

It doesn't have to be that way. Dr. Joan Meier at Georgetown just last week I think released the results of a preliminary study that the government has now agreed to fund further. I just got home from my son's graduation party. Dylan should have been having one too. I want justice for Dylan as much as anyone else here, but even more than that I want to work toward solutions that stop this violence from happening to our families.
