CNN Anderson Cooper says they are waiting press conference.

And so it begins...:( Sad shame because a tragedy should bring people together, not rip them apart.

My prayers to all that suffer, may God lift your burden.

In Jesus name Amen (JMVHO)

From your post:

This was obviously terrorism, the objective was to "terrorize" random individuals in order to have an impact on the masses or possibly the government. They weren't on a spree kill, they weren't settling grudges, it was terrorism.

I agree. I was just posting a news link :)

News on TV reported nearly 45 minutes that Saudi National did not take credit for attack. He did mention how he felt good for the poor? Strange statement to make.

Then again that is a TV report. I'll try to get another source online to reconfirm.

That would be consistent with some past terrorist activities. Al-Qaeda did not take public credit for 9-11.

See you guys later. Going to try checking in with my friends and family and take a brief break from the news. I hope all of your loved ones are accounted for tonight. Don't let it get too ugly-- remember why we are here to begin with -- we care about people, we hurt when they are victimized, and we want to see the evil killers brought to justice.

G'night

The swat team has arrived at the hospital (per CBS) regarding a person brought in after the explosion.

They kept the families OUT and AWAY from the hospitals all this time because they thought they might have the suspect as a patient?

Going out on a limb here...but could it be possible that due to it being Patriots Day (which marks the first military engagement, Lexington and Concord, of the American Revolutionary War) this has to do with the start of something bigger...or maybe commited by some sort of militia group. IDK...maybe too far fetched.

Time's interview with Boston Globe photographer John Tlumacki, who was at the finish line when the bombs went off (along with several of Tlumacki's pictures):

Tell us about the photo of the runner on the ground with the police.

That’s probably one second after the explosion. He was blown over by the blast and fell on the ground. The cops are just reacting as cops. They didn’t know what was going on. They’re pulling their guns out, looking left and right. They were pretty close to where the explosion went off and could have been killed or injured also.

You try not to get your emotions involved, but there was this man who was kneeling over this woman. Obviously she was injured pretty badly, and he’s just comforting her. He’s whispering in her ear. From a photographer’s point of view, you’ve seen these pictures before. I made it, and then I moved on.

Please don't fight with each other on the thread. The mods don't have time to delete all those posts.
It is against TOS and is going to get the thread shut down and people on time out.
If a post angers you, ignore it. If you are tempted to call someone a name, don't post.

If it isn't about the case of 100+ innocent people who were bombed today... please don't post it.

Someone just sent this to me in regards to today...

There were over 2000 Canadians in the marathon today and the big Ottawa marathon is coming up on our Victoria Day weekend in May with about 44,000 runners expected:

and from:

Canadians in Boston are urged to call the Consulate General at 1-800-387-3124 or 617-247-5100. At home, Canadians can search raceday.baa.org for the whereabouts of their loved ones during the blast.

Big shout out to those who ran towards the chaos. I don't know if I would have the courage to do that.

UP-date: :rocker: Forensic evaluation of VIDEO is NOW underway by the MASS STATE TROOPER SPECIALISTS after they got permission to cross the BPD crime scene tape (Ya gotta LOVE who folks RESPECT protocol!):rocker:.... comment was made that it's going to be a long night~

wonder if Nurmi would lend Jodi Arias' "I see "stuff"" expert to the BPD???:floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

It's instinct as much as it is courage, for many people.
You see injured people, you want to help.

I don't think I would have the time to process that it was a BOMB...
Or that there might be further danger.

I would just run into help and then later freak out at what I'd done. :twocents:

Remember in the first hours of the Newtown shooting, people thought that Adam Lanza's brother in Hoboken was involved and people were sharing his FB page, that his mom was a teacher at the school, etc? My point is that when you have huge breaking news like that, so many different stories end up being reported.
