To me when favorite toys and blankets are missing along with the little ones i think someone familiar to the child.

Jessica Lundford's case was similar. She was taken from her home by a RSO that was living across the street. She had a purple dinosaur with her that the RSO let her take with her. So now I don't always think of family or friends any more. He was living with friends and never registered and they had no idea that she was across the street when they were searching and interview family.

I agree. I don't want to judge because stressful situations fry your brain but it seemed as though he sobbed because he couldn't get his stuff. He did not appeal for her safe return. Instead he implored us to go ahead and ask his neighbor's what a good family man he is.

I dont feel very good about this at all.

Remember he's likely on the defensive after being grilled to death by LE (playing devils advocate for the moment).
All I'm seeing on him are prior misdemeanor traffic type charges, he had a warrant for one out of county which I think LE may have honored today (and subsequently released him?).

I've been looking, hadn't found anything yet due to many similar names, but while he has not been named as a POI, I think that if there are any violent criminal charges since his name is mentioned in msm it can be posted? Not sure...

Sorry for the late response: If you are referring to Diana's step father, his record is off-limits for now. Obviously, this could change in the future...

Praying for Diana, she's been on my mind all day!

You are of course correct. I almost didn't even post because I know how easy it is to "go there". Sometimes lately though I get so jaded, and I'm like "ok Mr, we watched this show last week" (and the week before, etc) and I want to yell and throw things. These are all very good signs that I shouldn't be posting. Sigh. I sure pray this ends differently.

How many times have we heard in a case from neighbors in specific, ' i had no idea . they were a normal nice family. i'm in shock. that doesn't seem like something they would do '' ??
I lean towards wanting to agree with earlier guesses that this sounds like Jenise Wright. But I'm trying to remember another case where the family was not allowed in the house with their vehicles towed off
within the first 24 hrs of a reported missing.
LE has not used term ' abduction' have they ?

Thanks for asking :)

You can discuss the content of an article but sleuthing family members that have not been named as a suspect or POI is not allowed. That includes any criminal history.

It falls under the following WS TOS:

VICTIM FRIENDLY

Websleuths is a victim friendly forum. Attacking or bashing a victim is not allowed. Discussing victim behavior, good or bad is fine, but do so in a civil and constructive way, and only when such behavior is relevant to the case.

The "victim friendly" rule extends to the family members of victims and suspects. Sleuthing family members, friends, and others who have not been designated as suspects is not allowed. Don't make random accusations, suggest their involvement, nor bash and attack them. Posting their personal information, including names, addresses, and background data -- even if it is public -- is not allowed. That does not mean, however, that statements made by family members and other third parties cannot come into discussion as the facts of the case are reported in the media.

I'm a local here in Fort Myers. The command center is at one of the grocery stores I use. One thing to consider is that this family can't go in their home and their vehicles have been confiscated. Our temps have been in the high 80's and we just had a torrential down pour complete with high winds, thunder and lightening. In the clip I saw they were sitting out on the front lawn. I doubt they got much sleep last night...since their entire world has turned upside down in the last 48 hours.
I hope they find her soon...so stressful for everyone involved. Glad to see they are searching in earnest today...

As the good sleuthers everyone here is, it only takes a little bit of looking around to find out why "it's all about me" sometimes.

I had to go back and listen again, but he is wanting cloths or something to wrap his 1 and a half yr old in. I don't think he is upset that he can't get cloths, it is about his baby not having things that he needs. His English is a bit hard to understand and that may be why he sounds off to some. I have seen so many parents on here under the eye of suspicion but in the end it was an someone else how harmed the child. I will wait for other things to develop before I comment on him. I don't think this will end well but we can hope.

Yay (thank you Mods for making sure the family is protected). You know, I was thinking, you know how when a woman disappears, the husband (or boyfriend) is always the first in line to be grilled? It seems this way with parents now, that when your child goes missing, the family is the first to be suspected. Is this the new norm?

IMO LE seems to have been covering their bases extensively with the family, as well as hopefully not implementing tunnel vision, as they have been searching with dogs and helicopters simultaneously. And I'm sure doing everything else LE and the FBI, etc does (canvassing, analyzing digital footprints, etc). As Foxfire always says, you have to "collect the dots before you can connect the dots".

You start with the closest people to the victim and when they are cleared, you work your way outward.

It's definitely not the new norm. It's the 'always-been-norm'. LE starts from the inside (people closest to victim/MP) and work their way out.

Lol thanks Skully--GMTA!

Absolutely, indeed!

I'm expecting to hear that the parents have been cleared, we will see...jmo.

Agreed. I meant "is this the norm as far as people (the public) automatically suspecting the parents", I wasn't referring to LE's approach when investigating, sorry if that came out weird.

I'm not necessarily talking about the victim's family here. I'm talking about any local , neighborhood perp who may be the one responsible. No one wears their child predatory skills on their sleeve or their forehead. No one seems to be able to predict who these monsters are when they live among the regular population. In Jenise's case, it was a neighborhood teen who the family knew and trusted and who many in the neighborhood were familiar with and talked to almost daily. He played with and hung out with many kids and families and no one sussed him.

I won't quote as they'd be big posts but all of tlcya's posts above have really taken the wind out of the sails right? Looking at the family's vehicles ( presumably)?

Well, the vehicles of somebody behind the crime tape anyway. Could even be an abandoned vehicle they found in the woods.

In the Latin background, there's very little faith on LE. Not all but most. Most of these people could come from countries where LE is not to be trusted. Not saying this is the case here. Just something to consider.
I think they are just exasperated. Past that point of where you wanna crumble and cry. At the end of the rope, so to speak.

Either way, I hope she's found.

I hope and pray Diana's case doesn't turn out the way other tragic cases have here under similar circumstances. Any news updates are much appreciated.

I did read from one of the news articles that Diana's mom doesn't speak English, so someone was translating for her. It also said she was due very soon with another baby. I can't imagine the stress she is under. Hopefully there will be good news and information soon. Diana needs to be found.
