Interesting note (this is what I hear):
"...I was over exhausted that morn--that night when I laid down. I just laid down. I went to sleep."

Wow I just now got to watch that. How sad. Misti looks awful. She is pale, her eyes are all sunk in, she looks like she hasn't eaten since last week. I don't know, She doesn't look like she is hiding anything to me besides guilt for being the last person to see this little girl.

Or maybe I am just gullible, I don't know. My heart and prayers go skyward for Haleigh and her dad and all involved.

yup.
She is exhausted, and doesnt seem to want to be there, or answer questions.

I would question why she was so exhausted.
The kids? Ron? housework? partying?
At 17, kids usually have allot of energy.
Is she pregnant? ill?

So, according to news reports, LE has additional leads that they missed when first canvassing the neighborhood. Any interpretation on that?

My understanding is that they were back out at the house, maybe they found additional leads there?

I just watched the Early Show interview and still feel the same way. There is just something "off" about Misti. I believe she is the key to solving this puzzle. Her body language is so strange to me. I think she feels incredibly guilty about something and is trying to cover up everything she can. I know that some people just aren't as emotional as others, but it's her entire "aura" (I know that word sounds a little funny). There is something wrong there.

I feel that Ronald has nothing to do with this. Unless he is an Academy-Award-caliber actor, I believe his emotions are raw, honest and true. His demeanor and body language speak volumes to me. I think he is truly devastated and does not know what happened.

I was hoping to have some answers to this case by now, this is a strange one.

In my snooping around last night I found Tommy Croslin had been in trouble with the law in Volusia County. Did anyone find out what it was for? I have so forgotten a lot of stuff from the beginning..

No, you are Christ-like and kind. Keep praying and I will, too.

I was thinking about Misty last night (how wierd is that?!) She is nearly 18 and doesn't have kids yet! That is great for a girl in that town and that family! She is young and healthy and if she could go to Tech school and get a skill, she has her whole life ahead of her. A better life. I hope there is someone in her life to encourage her to reach higher than she may be now.

Does anyone else recall a video that was done within the first couple of days in which Ron was making comments as to the possibility of Misty's involvement?

I believe it was taped the day that Misty returned to the scene. If you will recall, the first night (Tuesday night, I believe), Misty had gone back to her parents' home. She only spent one night there and then was back with Ron, walking arm in arm with him.

In that video, Ron states VERY strongly that Misty did NOT have anything to do with Haleigh's disappearance, and kept bemoaning these sentiments.

It was almost OVERKILL.

He supposedly was not even at home when Haleigh disappeared, so how could he possibly know that Misty had nothing to do with this baby's disappearance?

For whatever it is worth, I am still very much on the fence as to whether or not I think that a sex offender is involved, if Misty is lying, if Ron is involved, if it is a custody-related issue, or any other scenario. I simply cannot make heads nor tails of all the discrepancies in the stories and with the almost total silence from law enforcement, I have no idea in which direction to turn my sights.

Obviously, someone is either lying through their teeth or there is a completely and totally unrelated scenario that none of us has been able to figure out.

Yeah, I wonder if that was a Freudian slip... or if she's just exhausted.

I was surprised in this interview when asked about the ?'s LE asked her for her polygraph -- she says that she doesn't remember the ?'s they asked because it's been a week. Does that sound weird to anyone else? Or am I being just totally not neutral with this girl.

You have a missing child that you're the last one to see -- you have nothing to hide -- you have no idea what happened to her -- and you forget what ?'s LE asked you. Maybe I'm just thinking too much here.

I think the word "exhausted" is odd too. What immediately comes to my mind is all-night binges, partying, raves, that sort of thing. She's not in school or working so I am not sure why she would be "exhausted" at 17.

So, according to news reports, LE has additional leads that they missed when first canvassing the neighborhood. Any interpretation on that?

I read this morning that LE went to the neighborhood yesterday afternoon/lastnight to ask anyone who would usually be in that area (neighbors, delivery truck route, etc) if they remember seeing anything out of the ordinary around there on last Monday.

I wonder if maybe someone remembered seeing something or someone.

I don't remember being exhausted untill I hit my 40's. However, I do remember being extremely tired...3 times. But that went away after the first three months or so.

From the Early show clip...

Misty looks tense and as though she doesn't want to be there, now I can understand fully not wanting to be there guilty or not, but the only time she seems to be emphatic (god, my mind is not working right today, I hope that is the word I am looking for...) is at the end of the interview when Haleigh's G-ma is talking about it not being possible for her to wander off on her own due to the fact that she was scared of the dark and that if she had of tried to wander off she would have used the front door where there was a light, since the back door was never used. The whole time the g-ma is saying this Misty is shaking her head in agreement, but to me it seemed as if at that point of the interview she was excited (for lack of a better word) about that being said.

I hope what I am trying to say makes sense because I am having a hard time right now trying to convey what I mean...;)

No, I am on the same page as you. I immediately grew suspicious of her in the Greta interview from last week. I was stunned at how clueless she was. She routinely didn't know answers to basic questions and mixed up simple things. She first said Haleigh was sleeping three INCHES away from her, then changed it to six feet. She didn't know what the house number was on the 911 call. I am surprised the police have not gotten her to crack yet, I think it's just a matter of time.

Probably because they have not been able to confirm yet one way or the other. May be talking to neighbors/friends to find out if she was seen somewhere else that evening. The AC guy has already been checked out and cleared. He is not a POI.

Little info about taking LDT's. LE will not usually tell someone immediately whether they passed or not. And if it was not conclusive, they are not going to say at all. I don't think they would tell them they passed if they didn't, unless they want them to feel comfortable and slip up somehow.

AFAIK, they do not suspect the bio mom at all, simply because she was an hour and a half away, and can prove her whereabouts, and because the little boy is still there. If she were going to take one child, she would take both. I don't think there is any hurry in giving her a polygraph, because she has been ill, and they are satisfied that she had nothing to do with it.

I know the AC guy is not a POI. I'm just asking if he saw her while he was there. I'm trying to establish the last independent sighting of Haleigh.

I don't think my post addressed LDT's or the bio mom? :waitasec:

My take on the part of the interview where asked about the polygraph questions was that by the way she answered it was as if she was saying in a polite way, I'm not going to tell you. And a little that she just didn't want to talk about it. JMO

Police follow new leads in search for missing girl

-- Investigators are pursuing several new leads in the case of a missing 5-year-old girl in Florida, they said Tuesday.
Haleigh Ann-Marie Cummings, 5, who vanished a week ago, may have been abducted, police say.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office on Monday night searched the neighborhood of Haleigh Ann-Marie Cummings, who vanished a week ago. Deputies also searched surrounding neighborhoods.
Authorities said the girl may have been abducted.
Officials wouldn't release any details on the leads.
"Those leads, like I said, are as a result of doing the neighborhood canvass last night, and we will be following up on those leads today," said Capt. Steve Rose of the Putnam Sheriff's Office.
