:oops::oops: "I don’t have a bad image of Tim and Tracy. They just made a mistake. They were just acting out of frantic surprise of my actions. They were, I believe, they weren’t trying to do any harm," the teen said. "I believe that people should recognize that was a mistake and forgive them and move on.":oops::oops:

The damage is clearly deep. jmo
This brilliant young person is most likely scared, he doesn't know what the outcome of the trial(s) will be and also has low self esteem. Agree, the damage is clearly deep, tho, forgiveness is important, in order to move forward, otherwise you lose your power and stay stuck and unable to move forward in your life and do great things, imo. I wonder who advised him to forgive, if anyone did? All moo!

All the credit in the world to this child who endured this kind of abuse and still manages to be in AP Calculus and AP Chemistry.

I wonder how many kids who have severe "behavioral problems" are able to maintain attendance and grades in these kinds (level) of (very demanding) classes. My guess would be little to none. It doesn't match up. And, their defense is "believe us" because this kid is nothing but a violent problem?

Some of us become high performers and forever wonder if it was in part because of the abuse.

I'd like to know if they have any pets. We know their other children did not suffer these abuses.

If they had a cat or dog in the house, I bet the pet was free to go in and out as it pleased, ate regular meals, had the freedom to sleep in any bedroom or on any couch, was free to interact with the family, and was nowhere near as abused as this child was.

He made a remark about his intelligence more than once. This man is sick.

WHO ELSE thinks the Ferriter’s need to go live in a box?! How about a box with bars!?

HOW?! Is this guy not embarrassed to have the jury hearing all this?! What a maniac!!!
[snipped by me]

Jealous of the kid, jealous of the teacher, and they can't be the only two he has issues with due to his insecurities. This man is sick. Opinion only. [But, I wish I was on this jury]

Moo, I think these tapes change everything. I think they eliminate any doubt they'll try to sow. And, the body language on these 2 "parents", they not only have no remorse, they almost seem annoyed at the fact that they are even there (especially her imo)

WATCH LIVE: Imprisoned Son Trial — FL v. Timothy Ferriter — Day Four

Florida man Timothy Ferriter is accused of locking up his adopted son inside of a room he had built in the family’s garage. Ferriter faces charges of aggravated child abuse, false imprisonment and neglect of a child. Court records out of Jupiter, Florida show that the door to the room had a deadbolt on the outside, along with multiple other locks. Investigators also found video from a ceiling camera that showed Ferriter allegedly punching, throwing, and beating the son multiple times. When Ferriter's son wasn't in school, he allegedly was locked in the room — only allowed out to eat or sometimes use the restroom.

I think most of us agree with psychiatrist that described the parents actions as malicious and cruel and ill add traumatizing for boy and most likely the other children- they both need to be held accountable.

With that being said, there’s much that we don’t know, we’ve only heard from the Prosecution and for me personally along with others who have commented, I’m concerned with the proper care of the boy associated with claims of tendency for violent behavior and reported trauma connected to abandonment issues with his abortion. There’s really two issues here, one the parents responsibility for protection and care of a child and the other is the mental health of the boy.

The parents may argue (and fail miserably) that their actions were not as punishment but protection for the boy and other family members as well as the community in response to the risk of his violent behaviors but they obviously crossed the line with the verbal and physical abuse along with the neglect in his living conditions. There’s obviously issues regarding the parents methods of not providing support in a positive manner in fostering a loving relationship and an overall caring family environment. With us not knowing certain details of his mental health issues and the complete history of his behavior, it’s difficult to have a clear understanding of the seriousness of the risks involved. He seems extremely intelligent with his testimony during trial proceedings and some have questioned whether possibility of indication in his ability of manipulation. The fact he’s adopted shouldn’t be but it’s a factor in my mistrust of the parents’ intentions (too many foster and adoption failures, like the twins in Bakersfield CA) so it may cloud my judgment and make it more difficult to understand their actions plus the fact I’m not a parent having been unable to have a child so I lack the experience of parenting and caring for a child with mental health issues. Maybe we’ll learn more as the defense presents their case.

My posts keep getting longer and longer in this case, I hate child abuse cases.

Edit: Sorry, this was meant as a stand alone comment and not a reply to your comments, my iPhone is wacky.

Prediction only: He'll be convicted and she'll plead out because of it - *if* she is even offered a plea

ETA: I bet the "have to strike a plea" wheels are churning in her attorney's head (who I'm guessing is the woman sitting next to her).

I’ve had to mute CourtTV, too disturbing to hear so can’t imagine the trauma for this boy.

I definitely agree and wish this case would inspire change in our society but that’s wishful thinking, children deserve to live in a positive loving and caring environment.

Reading this morning the story out of Kansas about a child named Zoey is just another example of individuals who are incapable of parenting and of a broken system that continues to fail in protecting children in the United States.

I haven’t been able to watch more than a few clips yet, but I would say while his Defense may be able to prove a lot of that “bad behavior” leading to what they say was “bad parenting”, it definitely seems like their treatment of him would be very, very unlikely to result in any positive effect, let alone something “better” than that “bad behavior”.

So extremely sad. And from what I’ve heard of the son say about them, some of his comments made me feel like he may still be worried about going back to them, him chalking some of it up to their “bad choices” and talk of wanting to move on worries me that he still - understandably- feels fear from them. So very sad.

Don't quite understand the logic of these parents. The boy supposedly suffered from abandonment issues. So, then he is put into a box, no windows, no light (unless the parents decide to turn the light on from the outside), no food except whatever they decide to throw him, no bathroom just a bucket. Is this the treatment that was suppose to help him not feel abandoned?????
