The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office was gathering evidence from a wooded area of North Port on Thursday after someone tipped authorities off Wednesday night, according to a press conference by the agency.

Chance is still missing, and a spokeswoman confirmed there are no other scenes, but would not share what investigators have found.

Still no news and no explanation for the City of North Port Fire & Rescue truck being at the scene. WINK says they'll have a live report at 4.

creepy.. like a whole planned neighborhood that never got built.

This is from google maps. The article is right about there being no homes in the area. It's empty.

There are literaly hundreds of places like this in SWF. Usually accompanied by illegal dumping. I rode my bike a lot in an area like this because I could go hours and not see a car or person. I never went off road because I always thought I would happen upon a body. And this was long before I found WS.

Maybe the Fire and Rescue have divers?

Praying for some answers that can lead to justice for Chance.

I wonder if they got phone ping info that brought them there

I'm not sure if there's news to come:

Officials say on Wednesday, detectives arrived to an area near Wylam Drive and English Circle and have been on scene ever since. Eagle 8 HD saw numerous deputies and forensic teams exploring the area.

Sheriff’s office spokesperson Wendy Rose said, “There is no new information. This is just another step in our investigation to explore all leads in this case.”

Rose said there hasn’t been anything found at this time and it’s unclear how long detectives plan to be at the site.
