So tragic. The comments from this local news site (

From those comments, the poor girl was the oldest child. It appears she had the other younger kids w/her in the store too from another news article I read.
I've been in this Walmart once about 2-3 years ago and wouldn't go back. The place gives me the creeps, thought I've never been able to explain why. It was the scene of a 300-person flash mob in July 2012 (
http://jacksonville.com/opinion/blo...l-video-jacksonville-wal-mart-scene-flash-mob). I won't even go there in the day-time, and it's not a great but not a really bad section of town. I'd certainly never want to take small children there at night, though I recognize that for some people they have fewer choices.
The news indicates that Charish's body was found behind a church on Broward Road. There are 3 churches on Broward Road, where the child's body was found. That's between 4-1/2 and 5 miles from the Wal-Mart, depending on which church it was. They are all in residential neighborhood sections of that road. The middle one is next to a densely wooded lot. The other two have trees and buildings around the main church buildings, but the trees aren't as dense as the lot next to the middle church. Still, it's not like any of them are immediately off the interstate where he was arrested, though Broward Road is often used as a cut-through from Lem Turner to I-95 for people familiar with the area. The Wal-Mart is approximately 22 miles from the Segovia Road address where the suspect reportedly resided.
When I read the local papers' summaries this morning of this guy's sexual predation (before her body was found), it just seemed to indicate escalating behavior and I prayed she'd just be found alive. I was so dismayed to read 15 minutes later that they'd found her dead.
Update: they found her at the church closest to the Wal-Mart, about 4-1/2 miles from the Wal-Mart.

Update: one local new source (jacksonville.com) is saying she was found at the Highlands Baptist Church, but two others are reporting the church is Highlands Methodist, the one near the wooded lot I mentioned above. One of those two shows JSO cars blocking off the eastern and western edges of the wooded lot, which is just east of the church.

Update: I'm seeing revisions to several sites stating it's Highlands Baptist Church, and on a closer look at the photos above compared to the church signs, lightpoles, and turn lanes visible on Googlemaps, that is the Baptist Church in the photos.
