"mercy is something we give even when someone doesn’t deserve it" Schlax tells jurors. Not all are making eye contact with her @FCN2go #DonaldSmith

With all of his medical issues, he'll just be a further drain on society.

yes she is

Thanks. I'm at work, trying to remember the time difference in Florida from Atlantic Canada (I think it's an hour, but I need to keep checking lol) and I can't always check twitter

I'm going to say - Jury will take a first vote - all voting DP - have lunch, and come by with their verdict!!

They brought lunch in for the jury. I'll bet that nobody is leaving the courthouse because they anticipate the swiftness of the jury's decision.

Those poor alternates haven't been able to discuss any of the trial yet

The reading of the instructions are taking more time to read than it will take to get the death sentence, JMO

I really hope I can be watching when the sentence is read but I need to make lunch for my son. Hope I can at least watch a replay!

Will someone let me know when they go to deliberations please?

It will take them a little time to get through all of the inquiries but I don't think the individual decisions will take long, just the fact that they have to go through and vote on every part and sub part to every issue.

ARGHHH I missed the closings.

I expect them to be dutiful, take their time to go over each little thing in the form, and come back with death. Though I am strongly against capital punishment, I can see where the law will point these folks.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. You'll be back in plenty of time :).

They have pages to go thru but unless a holdout I expect a verdict this aft. IMO

I'm trying to figure out why DS is sitting on the end of the table, rather than in the middle. Maybe that is closest to the door that he will have to pass through once the DP verdict is rendered.
