Oh, dear God. Her parents advertised for a babysitter PUBLICALLY and included a PHOTO of their babies? What better way could there be to put your child in danger....
I wonder if they had any reponse, or had anyone at their home to discuss?

I thought the same thing about the woman not reporting the screams--
I once called 911 because I heard a woman repeatedly screaming and I just (thought I) KNEW it was the neighbor down the road - I lived in the country, who else could it be?

.... it was the brand new peacock I bought for the barn. Durn things sound EXACTLY like a terrified woman. :banghead:

I know I thought the same thing.

So freakin' scary!!! I know we don't know all the details yet, but if it was indeed a stranger.......WTF!!! Once again, snatched out of her own home!!!!

As far as her not being found for so long with her being so close to home....reminds me of Jessica Lunsford. Kind of reminds me of Sabrina Aisenberg also, although she has never been found.

Sometimes I feel like reporters must think the readers are idiots...they keep reporting that "Police feel her death is suspicious." Geez, ya think??? Of course it's suspicious!!!! How could it NOT be?

Poor baby.

A few blocks from Coralrose's home, a homemade poster was stapled to a tree at her bus stop. The sign offered $5 an hour for a babysitter, along with a rain-soaked photo of Coralrose and three of her siblings.

RiverRat I read this and thought that my heart would stop. How awful. Knowing that makes me believe that this was an outside job. I would never hang a poster for a babysitter. When I was in college I posted a note at a local grocery store for babysitting. I got a call the very first day from a single mom who wanted to go out. She wanted to know nothing about me. She came and dropped her kids off with me, they were filty and hungry. She was to pick them up at midnight but did not show up until the next day. Needless to say I took that sign down. That was the end of that for me.

Could you imagine taking your kids pic and hanging on a telephone pole or something for the whole freaking free world to see, and then have one of them call to actually babysit. What is this world coming too, I mean seriously. I dont get it. Its like putting your kid on craigslist or something.

I used to do that when my kids were small...Every once in a while, I found them on the floor....

What's with Florida lately, or has it always been like this? But hasn't gotten across the states as news...
Pharlap, I don't know what is with Florida. we moved here from Indiana 5 years ago. We live in Naples and have 36 convicted sex offenders within a five mile radius. Naples happens to have a very low crime rate though I am not under a false security that we are immune. John Walsh and AMW have been here in town several times over the last couple of years. I have been told and don't know details but they are expected to start some type of a safe kids pilot program here. I will see if I can find more info.

That is how I understood, the father checked all the children sleeping at 2:00 am-
Thanks for clearing that up. I couldn't imagine having kids up at 2:00am. Checking on them yes, as I check mine all the time.

This is just getting down right strange. She was found close to home but searched for hours, no dog barking, sex offenders in the area, and the ad for a babysitter with a photo.

Poor baby.

If I read correctly, he came home from work at that time and checked on the kids before going to bed.

My kids have the dogs in their bedrooms at night. If the girsl snore too loud the dogs bark. It's not likely that anyboy is coming into my home...day or night. Heck, those two dogs even bark like that when somebody they know is at the door, once I let you in, then they know it's okay. When the dogs bark, I get up and check on everybody and then go back to sleep.
That's how my dog is. She barks if someone walks past the house at night or if the dogs in the neighborhood bark. She will especially bark if someone knocks on my door, day or night. More often at night I think because we are all settled in and things are calm...anything that happens in the middle of the night or at night period, is alarming to her. I hope they find whoever did this to this poor little girl. It's just getting ridiculous!

Police following 20 leads in girl's homicide

http://www.sun-herald.com/breakingnews/bn_165.cfm
Mr. Lewis retired from the Sarasota Police dept soon after the Carlie case was over, he was so emotional thru-out her investigation...now here he is again- I cant imagine 2 cases like this and being the lead in both--
I am having trouble with the K-9 dogs not locating her, but someone randomly walking their dog discovers the little angel? How very sad this is........

on another note, I cant decide my feeling on the poster looking for a babysitter- my gut reaction is how could a parent do that- but we dont know the exact details- I hope there was no address- just a phone # to call--- remember they were new to the area...day care is so very expensive....I just hate to see the parents being bashed right now for what maybe alot of us would consider irresponsible....lets wait and find out more about this...imo-

That is true, we should wait before forming opinions. Even if the poster didn't have an address, it could easily be found be using the phone number and reverse number look up.

I thought of that as I was writing- maybe they didnt know you could do that-- again, jmo-- I feel so very sorry for them right now, and hope my gut feeling they were not invovled plays out to be true-

parents have to pick the kids up and show ID??? wow, what has the world come to. it's ad when sex offenders have more freedom than regular citizens,, and to keep the kids safe, WE have to be treated like criminals!

what's next, are people going to have to hire armed bodyguards to watch their kids all day, and while they sleep in their own bed?

it would be interesting to hear more details in this story... was there a forced entry? window locked or unlocked/open?

if that lady didn't call the police after hearing a child scream (which, in her defense- we don't know for sure),, then i hope she feels like the idiot she is. anyone have half a brain cell would know to call the police if you hear *anyone* scream-- if you cannot connect it to kids playing, or someone laughing. most people can tell the difference between a playful scream and cry for help. what the heck was she thinking,, "oh,, it's 6 am, there's a kid behind the building over there screaming bloody murder. just another day in the neighborhood!" people are so stupid sometimes,, they don't THINK and they don't question things.

I wonder. Did the poster have their address on it? Had there been any inquirie to the poster where they gave their address? I'm sure the LE is following up on this. How horrible!

I am so sick and tired of this crime against children. To me, this is Jesse Lunsford all over again.

So okay.
Which one of the local perverts was visiting someone in her neighborhood?
Which one of the local perverts worked at her school?
Which one of the local perverts delivered parcels to her neighborhood?
Which one of the local perverts picked up trash in her neighborhood?
Which one? I demand, we should demand, to know WHERE, HOW AND WHEN, one of these perverts had an opportunity to harm her. If the perverts can't provide an answer as to where they were, then they should be jailed and treated as guilty.
I really have had enough.

Does any one know if the are focusing on the parents or if they are pretty sure it was stranger abduction/murder and was she molested....I just hate this S...!

The reverse look-up only works for listed numbers. And even then, it is sporadic at best. My number is listed and I cannot bring up my info on the reverse lookup---same thing as some of my friends.

It also doesn't work for cell phone numbers.
