No wonder you are disturbed. That is very disturbing info. I have to wonder if the mother ever asked the father about that and what his replies might have been. That poor, poor little girl.

Hey Opie - since this is part 2 of a thread that has run for a couple of years now, I will go back through all of it to check, but I do know that Dale confessed to the child *advertiser censored* :furious: the day CoralRose was found, but it was a while after that before Ellen split from him.......so anyone's guess is as good as mine.

Interesting that the quilt was covering her head isn't it! Usually the face is covered when the killer knows the victim....like a dad.

Hmmm - Dad and blankets....reminds me of this earlier news report on this murder.

Family of slain girl may live forever under the veil of suspicion

SARASOTA -- "Do you see what they are doing here?" attorney Debra Salisbury said after the visitation hearing of the Fullwoods.

"I think to myself, if somebody took one of my children out of my house and murdered my child, don't take my other child," Salisbury said. "You don't leave me under the veil of suspicion like in JonBenét Ramsey's case, forever. And that's where (The Fullwood family) may be heading."

Salisbury compared what is happening to Ellen-Beth Fullwood, and her client, Dale Fullwood, to what the Ramseys were going through in the death of their child.

Ellen-Beth and Dale Fullwood are the parents of 6-year-old Coralrose Fullwood, who was found slain on Sept. 17 in a construction site two blocks from her Calabash Lane home in North Port. Police have not made any arrests in the case, nor have they ruled out the family members as suspects.

Ellen-Beth's parents, Saul and Doreen VanderWoude, of Fort Myers, were given temporary custody of the four Fullwood children on Sept. 19. At a visitation hearing Wednesday, a circuit court granted Ellen-Beth her motion for unsupervised visitation of her remaining children. The court denied Dale's request.

The Ramsey case

On Dec. 26, 1996, 6-year-old JonBenét Ramsey was found murdered in the basement of her Boulder, Colo. home after a ransom was apparently demanded.

In that case, police, media, experts and the parents had different theories. Boulder Police believed that her mother may have accidentally killed JonBenét in a fit of rage after the girl had wet her bed on the same night.

Another theory was that John Ramsey, father of JonBenét, may have sexually abused her and murdered her to cover up his crime. John Ramsey's young son, Burke, was also a target of speculation. However, police never suspected anyone outside of the family. And yet, according to public records, JonBenét's parents showed no signs of aggression or suspicious behavior towards their children, nor did they have criminal records.

The Ramseys stated repeatedly that an outsider committed the crime.

The case is still unsolved, and even after the death of Patsy Ramsey, JonBenét's mother, her father has not been dismissed as a suspect.

North Port's Coralrose case

Based on what little information has been released, and testimony heard at Wednesday's hearing, Salisbury said she is frustrated by the NPPD, because the suspicion of her client, and that of Ellen-Beth, may never end.

Four months after North Port Police Chief Terry Lewis said there was no evidence that Coralrose was sexually assaulted, he announced that she was, based on subsequent analysis of evidence. Lewis also said police found DNA and it was not from a family member. Lewis also came up with a DNA profile, claiming it was that of an "unknown white male."

Lewis would not say where the DNA sample came from. However, in the JonBenét case, police found DNA samples in a mixed blood sample found on the child's underwear.

"Ellen-Beth Fullwood cannot escape the agony of losing her little girl.

Fullwood spoke up this week about the latest evidence revealed in 3,587 pages or court documents released recently by the State Attorney's Office in Sarasota. Among the information in those pages and pages of information was testimony the alleged killer of 6-year-old Coralrose Fullwood knew the father, Dale Fullwood, and had joined him in watching child *advertiser censored* on a computer at a North Fort Myers bar where Fullwood worked.

"I'm not happy this (information about suspect Patrick Murphy) is coming out," Ellen-Beth Fullwood said this week. "It hurts my children."

"I did not know him," Ellen-Beth said of Murphy. "I have not read the large file from the State Attorney's Office. I wasn't aware the media would be allowed to see it. All this brings back bad memories for my family and me."

Ellen-Beth said she is doing her best to prepare for Murphy's trial.

"We will all go back to the counselor," she said of her family."

Of course she's not happy this is coming out....:banghead:

That's exactly right and that thought has never left my mind during this case. How could a woman stay with a man like that for even one day? I'm sure most wouldn't! That little girl never stood a chance in this life. I am so waiting for them to be able to put the dad away as well; no doubt in my mind he was the second person!

Huh-interesting perspective. I guess she feels all of this is an invasion of her privacy.

Ellen-Beth may not have known this monster but her husband sure did. Hasn't it crossed her mind that Dale may have been involved in this little girl's murder? Dale could have brought the monster home with him after the bar closed and Ellen-Beth probably would have been asleep. Somehow this monster got ahold of that little girl along with her quilt. I wonder if she woke up when the monster was at her house and he watched where she went when she went back to bed. He could have snuck back into the house and carried her out after Dale went to bed.

Even if Dale wasn't involved in the murder I'll bet he brought about the murder by bringing that monster to his home to watch his dirty pictures on his computer.

That is just horrible. I believe Dale is involved too if nothing else he must have taken that killer to his home at some point and somehow CoralRose met him or he saw a picture of her or something. I hope LE find every single movie and picture that was taken of these kids. I wonder what happened to the other kids and who they were. What was CoralRose doing at that killers house? Had he already kidnapped her or did Dale hand her to him for an amount of money? Sounds like this couple is involved in this horror too. That poor little girl.

Sounds like the authorities are getting to the bottom of what all took place. Reminds me of that saying "the noose is tightening".

What a bunch of disgusting, and evil people. Poor little Coral Rose. Who and where are those other children??? Why did it take this witness so long to come forward?? This case has always saddened and sickened me.

How heartbreaking this cases continues to be....this latest news is really hard to digest and it just sickens me, so I will just stick with providing one more local link.......

"NORTH PORT -- Police raided a storage unit containing explicit videos, including one that a confidential informant says likely includes footage of the 2006 rape and murder of 6-year-old Coralrose Fullwood.

According to documents filed by the North Port Police Department, Florida Department of Law Enforcement agents and police obtained a search warrant June 10 for Edward Chinnici's belongings in the North Port Self Storage storage unit. The informant told police Chinnici often kept videotapes as well as illegal narcotics at the storage unit on Pan American Boulevard.

Police removed numerous tapes with pornographic titles mixed in with R- and PG-rated movies. They also found cameras, nine cell phones and computer discs. Police are working with the informant, who told them Chinnici liked to videotape everything.

According to court documents, the source told police that on the night of the murder, Chinnici was with three young girls and a young boy in a wooded area near where Coralrose was later found raped and murdered on Sept. 17, 2006. The site was near Coralrose's Calabash Lane home. Chinnici allegedly paid a young girl $10 to perform a sex act on the boy, the informant said. He allegedly told the other girls to watch, the documents show.

The informant said he witnessed Chinnici videotape Patrick Dwayne Murphy "smack around" one of the girls and made her perform a sex act on him. He said Chinnici also taped the murder, adding he later bragged about having it on tape, court documents show.

The informant was "positive" that the girl was Coralrose." :( :( :(

Who the He!! is this informant!!!! :furious::furious::furious: Whatever immunity they granted should be revoked in spades. I mean, My God!!! How can someone be in the posession of knowing what happened to a LITTLE GIRL and that there was FREAKING video of the monstrous act, and NOT run to LE the first chance they get? Oh never mind.....if they were present, and "saw" the act (of rape/murder) and did not DIE IN THE PROCESS OF STOPPING IT, then the witness is a piece of scum taking up resources on the planet too!!! These people just sicken me to death. Animals are better than they are. I like animals. I HATE these people!!! :furious:

/that has to be one of the most sickest things I have read in a while. Who could video tape much less watch someone rape and murder a 6 yr old.
I feel for the officers who have to sit and watch this violation of children on video and pictures just to catch the perps, and find the victims.
I hope if this is true and this horrible crime is on video that everyone invovled is viewable on that video, and that Coralrose gets the justice she deserves.

The fact that Coral Rose was raped and murdered is horrible, but it's beyond what I can put into words that it was videotaped. That poor, poor child and those horrible monsters. She was humiliated, disrespected and harmed enough without the further humiliation of these b*stards filming it and bragging about it. Hell is too good for these people.

SARASOTA COUNTY - The death-penalty trial of the man accused of raping and murdering 6-year-old Coralrose Fullwood of North Port has been pushed back to July.

The trial for Patrick Murphy, 29, was originally scheduled for April, but has been delayed because all of the evidence is not in.

Prosecutors said they have now tested every suspicious spot on a critical piece of evidence — the comforter wrapped around the girl's body.

But the official results from all those tests are still coming in and the defense needs a chance to study them and depose witnesses. Murphy remains in jail awaiting trial.

Note: I am still looking for an exact trial date, just saw this delay story and wanted to post it. I have not yet seen any further information regarding the video tapes found in the storage unit, but am still checking on that as well. It doesn't appear that anyone else was ever charged in connection with Coralrose's murder.

SARASOTA, FL. - An accused child killer was in court Wednesday to enter a plea in the murder of Coralrose Fullwood. Patrick Murphy is accused of raping and killing the 6-year-old girl in North Port back in 2006.

On Wednesday, Murphy pleaded guilty of first-degree murder in connection with the killing to save himself from the death penalty. The judge accepted the plea and sentenced him to life in prison without parole.

Both family and authorities say they hope it's just the first conviction to come. DNA evidence found at the crime scene was linked to Murphy; but he may not be the only one.

Outside the judicial center, North Port Police Chief Terry Lewis said it's not the end. "Anybody that was involved with this incident and this heinous crime should be sleeping with one eye open. We are still actively investigating this case and it certainly hasn't been brought to conclusion."

SARASOTA — Patrick Dwayne Murphy was sentenced Wednesday to two consecutive life terms for the 2006 rape and murder of 6-year-old Coralrose Fullwood.

Murphy, 29, was scheduled to go to trial July 6, but instead pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and capital sexual battery at the Sarasota County Courthouse.

Twelfth Circuit Judge Charles Roberts sentenced an emotionless Murphy, dressed in a bright yellow jail uniform and sporting a buzz cut, to two life sentences on the charges, and said he would be labeled a sexual predator.

“Do you understand that means you will die in jail?” Roberts asked Murphy during the sentencing. “You understand you are not eligible for parole, and there are no provisions for early release.”

Earlier, Murphy had answered “Yes, sir” to most all of Roberts’ questions. Then he said, “I am guilty in my best interest, your honor” to both charges.
