David is not familiar with the area, being from Georgia; he came to Hernando County, Florida to visit his brother Carl.

Coming upon a fallen tree is why the brother (Carl) left David and Snoopy (dog), wanting to return with a tractor to move it.

8:30 am David missing
10:04 trail cam sighting, walking south in woods near Batten Rd

12:00 Snoopy came home, alone

David went up to a home in the neighborhood and said he was looking for a specific oak tree in an open field that looked up to the heavens to plant flowers near it. He was carrying wildflowers with his left arm.
(I am unsure of the time or location of this home)

One shoe, one sock and glasses were recovered near the first camera.
(I am unsure where this “first camera” is.)

Fox13 Tampa Bay article mentioning WeAreTheEssentials, a nonprofit search and recovery investigators group involved.

We Are The Essentials FB page, where info above was gathered from. Several posts there about missing person David Brown.

The shirt rip looks very uniform, almost as if it was cut with scissors.
I don't think so, you can see a torn piece of shirt hanging down in the still above, and he's got a wound on his arm.

I have wondered if he does not want to be found; he just wants to be alone in nature. If that is the case, and they find him, does he have the legal right to do that? Or will they force him to the hospital?
I don't think he's been walking around for 12 days in heat indexes up to 103 F with stage 4 prostate cancer.

Red: Thank you. I had not seen that previously.

Blue: I was asking hypothetically, but there is a chance he is alive.

Indeed the sheriff was hinting at this in the video posted under thred 11

He may be attempting to hide from LE

"I'm holding out hope that I find him," Amy Brown, David Brown's wife, said.

Described as someone who is loved by all and makes her feel special, the couple have been married for 27 years and currently reside in Georgia.
Amy Brown said she brought her husband to his brother in Brooksville to make time for each other. She said her husband had been struggling both physically, and on a personal level as well after receiving a cancer diagnosis.

"He is sick. He's terminally ill. I know he didn't want to face that," she said. "But if I could, I'd like to bring him home and just help him through it."

We Are The Essentials, a local private non profit organisation, is helping family and LE in the search for David Brown.
Their FB page provided some info update in the last two days. See also below the two posts.
The absence of media coverage is a shame IMO. This poor man needed all the help in the world.

He is from Georgia and was just visiting his brother in Florida. Depending on what drugs he is on for his cancer, this could give him memory lapses. Plus he is missing his glasses. If he is extremely near sighted, then he is just walking around blindly. He might be trying to get home to Georgia and has no idea why or how he ended up in Florida. My guess would be, if he is not dead, that he ran into someone who is now trying to help him get home and they have no idea that his family is looking for him.

I hope so too, but he was without shoes and sock(s) and with his tshirt teared up, and a cut on his arm. I suppose they checked hospitals…If anyone has picked him up, the normal reflex would be either a hospital, doctor or police station IMO
Let’s hope he is really safe somewhere

At last some more details on what happened when David went missing !!!

One of the things David Brown wanted to do with his brother was visit an oak tree on the family’s 194-acre property. The tree had limbs that stretched up to the heavens and Brown and his brother had prayed there on a previous visit.

When the pair went out in a golf cart, they found a fallen tree across the trail
. Brown’s brother went to get some equipment to move the tree.
..
….when he was seen on that cam, he’s missing his glasses,” Croft said. “The glasses, one of his shoes and one of his socks were found in that location of the initial trail cam.”

There was a barbed wire fence nearby and bloodhounds tracked Brown’s movements there. Investigators believe he climbed under the fence, ripping his shirt. They found dog hair caught in the fence as well.

Brown made his way off the family property and wandered over to a neighboring house, where he stopped to ask for directions to the tree.

Amy Brown hopes her husband may be lost somewhere in a homeless camp, in a place where someone will be able to help him find his way back home.

“I think he got a ride. He is a salesman and he can sell ice to an Eskimo and so he may have convinced somebody to help him,”

Well climbing under the barbed wire fence can explain the mark on his arm that a poster previously thought was a dog bite. Could also explain the lack of shoe and the shirt rip.

Dog hair caught on the fence as well corroborates them climbing under a fence. Pretty athletic for a man of his age and his condition.
