I wonder if ol Nancy is still defending him and claiming those pics are of her. :puke: I also wonder if she knows more.

The fact that she was trying to tell that SAME story tells me the answer to that! :) My opinion. But, it does lead me back to the same thing---- why are other people trying to cover his tracks. I think it is more than trying to protect him. I mean, who protects a man who was molesting your step-daughter/ daughter? It's the one thing that keeps me from thinking that he acted alone by kidnapping and killing her. Also, the fact that she has not been found and they know his movements, due to his phone pings. So, I am still leaving a big option open that she was sold or handed off to someone else. They need to check all numbers that he sent photo texts to. I also think there is a reason that he took photos and I also think that was for more reasons than self-pleasure. Again, the places this case can lead scare the bejeezus out of me.

LCSO looks in Osceola County, finds no new info in Diana Alvarez case

Published 10:25 a.m. ET April 13, 2017 | Updated 12:33 p.m. ET April 14, 2017

The family of missing Diana Alvarez said Lee County Sheriff’s Office detectives searched an area in Osceola County this week but turned up no new evidence of 9-year-old Diana.

LCSO detectives were in the Yeehaw Junction area on Wednesday as part of an ongoing investigation into the girl’s disappearance.

“Our detectives are continuing their active investigation regarding the Diana Alvarez case,” a public information officer for the LCSO confirmed and added that detectives had concluded their activities and were not there on Thursday.

A pretrial conference for Guerrero-Torres is scheduled May 9 with jury selection and trial scheduled for May 11.

Second search for Diana Alvarez turns up empty

POSTED: 9:22 AM, Apr 14, 2017 | UPDATED: 9:24 AM, Apr 14, 2017

New developments in the case of a Lee County girl who vanished nearly a year ago. A second search in central Florida has led to a dead end.

[...]

This second search was launched due to dry conditions in the area, since the initial search was done when the area was very wet and covered with underbrush.

Child *advertiser censored* case proceeds for man suspected in Alvarez disappearance

A federal judge will allow lewd photos of missing 9-year-old Diana Alvarez to be shown at trial in the child *advertiser censored* case against Jorge Guerrero-Torres.

U.S. District Judge Sheri Polster Chappell on Friday denied a motion to suppress evidence of pornographic images that investigators say they found on the defendant's smartphone.

[...]

Guerrero-Torres said in court that on a day in early June when detectives contacted him for an interview about Diana, he threw his phone away in a ditch near an apartment complex in Orlando, where he had moved for work, after heavy rains made the phone wet and rendered it useless.

[...]

Case law states that when a person voluntarily abandons property, that person's expectation of privacy is lost and he or she can’t seek to suppress evidence seized from the property.

[Prosecutor] Casas additionally argued that Guerrero-Torres didn’t intend to get his phone back even after learning that someone found the phone and that it was functional. The prosecutor went as far as to call a witness on Thursday who testified that the defendant was planning on fleeing to Texas or the Mexican border.

Oh thank goodness! :happydance: I was worried the evidence might get thrown out.

From the news story posted above at:
http://www.winknews.com/2017/04/28/...etween-authorities-and-diana-alvarez-suspect/

(article includes 3 videos of him speaking to the detective)
In the videos, which were recorded on June 4, 2016 in Okeechobee, Guerrero told detectives why he tossed the cell phone.

“The (Guerrero’s) girlfriend sent him a picture on the phone saying that he was a suspect and that he had Diana,” the interpreter said.

“He’s saying before he was locked up, he went to the bank to take out money in case he would be in jail for a couple days,” the interpreter said.

Calling our Spanish speaking members! I need you again! LOL! This dude is raaaaattling off some stuff! There is no way the translator translated most of it. I can see where this would be an almost impossible task for a detective, to go through a middle man in an investigation like this when tiny words or inflections or "slip-ups" would be so important.

He looks and sounds nothing like I would have expected! As much as I looked at his face, I would have let him pass me on the street and not realized. He sounds like a fast talking liar, to me. But, also very immature. I said from the beginning that he seems like he might have some sort of learning delay or cognitive deficit. I'm still sticking with that. Not that it makes ANYTHING better! It's just an observation.

If he was sleeping on a bench, where did he wash his clothes? That was passed quickly through translation. In English, that would have been hammered on, I am guessing. I wonder who he was meeting that he talks about in the last video (the one that he says he got money). They could be the next leg of this mystery, I am guessing.

Probable cause existed for arrest in Lee County girl’s disappearance

Lee County Sheriff’s deputies had probable cause to arrest a man on kidnapping charges after the disappearance of a 9-year-old girl from her San Carlos Park home, court documents show.

But Jorge Guerrero, who was named in the AMBER Alert for Diana Alvarez, was instead arrested in a child *advertiser censored* case. Graphic images of Alvarez were found on a cellphone belonging to Guerrero.

The lack of an arrest related to Alvarez’s May 29, 2016 disappearance could be a strategic move related to a possible plea agreement, said Lance Dunford, a Fort Myers attorney who isn’t connected to the case.

Has it been published if Guerrero is in this country illegally? I'm concerned he will end up being deported instead of spending time in prison in USA. If that happens, we will never know what happened to this little girl.

I think we already know what happened to her, unfortunately.

But prosecutors will be allowed to show interrogation video of Guerrero, who is accused of possessing lewd images of the nine-year-old girl, admitting to a sexual relationship with Diana.

Jury selection for Guerrero’s trial begins on Thursday.

A "relationship". Right. She was 8 or 9. Dude is sick. We are probably about to find out a lot of stuff we never want to hear.
