GUILTY FL - Five teens for video beating of 16yo girl, Highland City, 2008

Are any of these girls going to jail for this beating? I am just browsing through the thread here.

Well they have to plead out or go to trial and get convicted and all that pesky carp first.

..... Believe me, I'd like to slap them all around a bit myself, and what they did was VERY vicious and NO WAY do I want to be on the record as defending them, but I would like to think they wouldn't be in jail forever and that they actually MIGHT get rehabilitated.

But I sure would like to dish out some justice 'Brefie style!'

But Philamena, dontcha know that the victim is no angel either, so I guess that justifies it eh?

I can't believe Garcia hasn't been told to shut up. She just makes it so easy to see how her daugther turned out the way she did.

from what ive read i doubt victoria's ready for anything like that yet. she JUST showed her face for the first time. and she seems to be very untrusting and to have become introverted. i doubt she's ready to appear on tv.

A Polk County circuit judge on Wednesday lifted the order that had been issued by another judge earlier this month. He did not explain the decision but wrote that all parties agreed.

Sheriff Grady Judd applauded the action, saying it's important to raise awareness about these kinds of crimes.

Eight teens have been charged as adults in the beating, which deputies say they videotaped and planned to post on the Internet.

WOW River, thanks so much for this link! I wonder if the sh*ts going to hit the fan now.....I think we'll probably get a lot more inside scoop. Especially from Gloria Allread, she loves the camera. She was hilarious in the Peterson case. She was practically the only one not under the gag order, and boy, did she take advantage of it!

Beating Details Revealed

In the hours before the now-notorious video beating, in which a group of girls are seen hitting another girl, there was a spat over a borrowed hairbrush and razor followed by a string of threatening phone text messages, court records show.
The victim of the beating, 16-year-old Victoria Lindsay, told a detective that the girl seen punching her repeatedly in the video, Mercades Nichols, sent the text messages to her while Lindsay was headed back to Polk County from a day at Cocoa Beach

She also said she was beaten in three rooms of the house and forced to pose for a recording of her injuries.
