Shakayla Denson pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the 2018 death of 4-year-old Je’Hyrah Daniels.

In an agreement with state prosecutors, Denson was sentenced to 20 years in prison, with 10 years of probation to follow. She will have to undergo a mental health evaluation upon her release.
