There's been lots of speculation that WA's purchase of Bulleit bourbon the day of DM's murder was some sort of inside joke referring to the bullets used to kill her ex, which supposedly proves that she knew in advance of the killing. Now Mentour Lawyer has posted what appears to be the actual invitation to the "stock the bar" party instructing WA to purchase "BULLEIT BOURBON" or her "favorite wine or spirit," which I don't believe has been made public before.

There are pieces of evidence that raise legitimate questions about WA's position that she was not involved and had no foreknowledge of DM's murder. But I don't think her purchase of Bulleit bourbon is one of them; it seems pretty clear that she was just following the invitation's instructions.

Here's the clip: What?? Is Charles Adelson starting to suspect Wendi Adelson? What about Donna?View attachment 468610

CA just has one note he has fixed on to say why he's in jail, but never goes through the other important reasons. He never cites the #1 reason- after he joked about getting a TV instead of hiring a hitman, the biggest coincidence he's not mentioning is that his ex brother-in-law ended up with his face blown off from two hitmen! That's the biggest coincidence in this case that he magically never mentions. Then again, the only reason we know that is because his sister told anyone who would listen.
I thought I heard him mention the hitman joke in one of the calls, when he was talking about the purchase of the TV. He said something like that kind of joke is very common when spouses are divorcing. If I recall correctly.

Definitely agree. She is a loooong way from telling the whole story. Unless she has early onset, dementia, and has committed so many other murders that she's confusing them, there is no legitimate reason that she would not remember most of every detail of what happened. She yada yadas the whole murder.
Also, Rivera mentioned that Katie said this to Sigfredo (on a phone call), "don't do anything stupid" on the 2nd trip. I don't think Rivera made it all up (or maybe Rivera was taken out of context by that statement that he heard)

I think Katie is still not telling the whole truth. In the retrial, the state pointed her involvement as she was present (via pings) in the rental car on the first murder attempt which Sigfredo had rented. Also, what about that owl instagram post that Katie ordered Garcia to tell Rivera to take it down? I don't think Rivera is lying about that.
I agree. And she also gave them the money each time and went with them to rent the cars, according to cell tower records. I believe one of the car rental places was right near her house. She was asked about this in one of her trials, and I believe she tried to justify being in the area of the rental car agency (this one was by the airport) by saying she had a friend who lived near there.

Imagine being WA, taking the stand in DA's trial, and now Cappleman is armed with these jail calls. Wow.

"Are you aware your own brother said there was a 1 in 10,000 chance that you were telling the truth about your trip down Trescott?"
Oh brother @Elfwoman and @opt...almost spit my coffee on my computer screen reading your tete-a-tete first thing this morning. Too funny!
Has anybody ever mentioned that SigGar was arrested at Hallendale gas station driving HA's old Lexus?? Or why doesn't CA ever say, "I should have called the police when I was being extorted by the Latin Kings?" It is almost as if he has forgotten his own defense story.

Messy messy messy. Listening to the latest release from Gigi labeled “4 days before Donna’s arrest.” I think this call was already posted up thread but I’m listening to it now from the beginning. Rashbaum communicates with Donna a lot. Why is Donna the one advising Charlie about his suicide watch terms etc? Why isn’t Rashbaum telling him this directly on the phone?

Rashbaum is also telling Donna some other things he’s “working on” before he tells Charlie. So Donna is the intermediary between Charlie and his lawyer. The co-conspirator who has a lot to gain from Charlie keeping his mouth shut is passing communication between lawyer and client. Doesn’t surprise me at all that other more competent and ethical lawyers passed on this case! JMO

Probably late to the jail calls discussion but finally started listening.

These people have lost the plot. They thought it went well for him?? He gave away his commissary thinking he was going to be found not guilty?

Sorry I have to laugh because what?

So at one point on the 11/8 call Charlie basically says “I should’ve fled like my gut told me to do, do you agree with me now?” And Donna says “I agree with you now.” And he says, “ but no I was told it would be OK and other people talked me out of it.” He repeats this refrain towards the end of the call. Who talked him out of it? Harvey? Wendi? Rashbaum? He doesn’t seem mad at Rashbaum so I don’t think it was him.

He’s BIG MAD at Wendi! He keeps talking about that drive down Trescott over and over. Someone on Reddit said this is him trying to get a morsel of condemnation towards Wendi from Donna. Donna doesn’t give it! She protects Wendi and wants to shut down the convo. Charlie is looking for emotional support from Donna that Wendi effed this up. That she threw him under the bus. He’s also blaming Donna indirectly and she knows it - that’s why she’s shutting it down. Someone on Reddit also referred to Charlie as the emotional support family accessory and that’s why no one takes him seriously. Charlie is waking up to this, I think. And now he knows Donna had her parachute ready during these calls and was planning to never speak to him! JMO and speculation.

I'm wondering if it will come out someday that Markus would not represent CA with his double-extortion narrative.
In one of the jail calls, Charlie claims that David Markus was set to rep him at a trial in April 2023. He then claims that because the trial was pushed back to October, he couldn't rep Charlie.

Pinch of salt & all that

Good article. It says that Rashbaum should not be representing both Charlie and Donna, (alleged co-conspirators), because the conflict of interest is not something that they can waive. I don’t know if it’s true, but it’s interesting. It also seems to indicate that Rash represented Harvey snd Donna FIRST, before Charlie hired him after Markus quit. It is strange to me that Harvey and Donna didn’t get a new lawyer once Charlie retained Rash. Hmmm…

Re your bold above.
Imo, Harvey often does the same thing.

Also, there's loads of weird subtexts in the calls
eg

1hr 31 Charlie: ' Wendi might know an appellate lawyer with good advice....' ( IMO he’s insincere, he's having a dig at Wendi who still refuses to speak to him or help him)
Harvey replies & seems to put a block on asking Wendi. Harvey says we have to work on the two juror issues first. ( That this is the higher priority than CA getting a good appellate lawyer, even though The parents have just bought their plane tickets.)

Another one
1 hr32 CA : 'I appreciate you guys helping me.' ( IMO This is a Charlie style code for wendi doing nothing to help him. Mum got the subtext and immediately covers for & protects Wendi by replying that her silence is only for legal reasons.

Source:
Final call of 8th, maybe around 10pm.

Another weird subtext statement, different call, is Charlie saying he saw a hot chick at trial and didn't realise it was actually Wendi. He didn't recognise her. IMO he's having a dig at Wendi again, it's so long since he's seen her, he doesn't recognise her.

Yes! Completely agree - naturally him saying he was attracted to his sister seems creepy but I also saw it as a dig at Wendi. He has to speak this way so as not to trigger Donna too much. I believe this is the pattern between them as he’s the “family accessory” and not allowed to talk ish about the princess. And him saying repeatedly ‘I should’ve trusted my instincts and not listened to anybody else’ is him saying he should trust his instincts now and not listen to anybody.

I also wondered whether the person who got Donna to work on him, to prevent Charlie fleeing justice, was Harvey.
I just get a bad vibe about him during the calls. He's mostly silent and it would be easy to imagine that he's a non-participant but then he pops back up and you realise he's been monitoring every word that Donna and Charlie have said.
Patronising and insincere too.

Also he said he was attracted to his own sister. He never expresses disgust or shock or “eeew” that this happened, not at the time when someone told him who it was (as he describes it), nor on this call.

Seems Dan has been the family attorney and they trust him still.Donna seems enamored by him.The A’s don’t trust anyone. How did Wendi end up with John Lauro?.She seems to have the best one.
Say what you want about Wendi but she might actually be the only one with brain cells left I decided after listening to these phone calls.

Atleast she isn't spending 12 hours out of the day talking on a taped line when you're also considered a suspect...and clearly isn't trusting Dan with her livelihood.

Am I an *** for being happy that Charlie can't spend all damn day on the phone with his mom now. Wonder what he's doing with his time now, ha.

Also Charlie seems very annoyed with Wendi in these phone calls..maybe it's only a matter of time before he flips on her
