I strongly disagree with you. I was bullied in elementary school for 3 straight years. It was NOT deserved. There is no other side to a bullies' story that deserves justification.
You cannot say that I was mentally unstable, or moreso because I didn't commit suicide. I highly doubt Rebecca Sedgwick committed suicide to be a martyr, she was only 12 years old!!! She just wanted the pain to end. Rebecca was no longer dating the boy in question- so there was no reason to bully her other than the meanness of GS and the girls she recruited to bully Rebecca. Just because Rebecca didn't turn off the social media and walk away doesn't mean she has any blame for her death!!!
And even if her mother or the school could have done more- the person responsible for Rebecca's suicide is GS- she is the one to blame!!!

I couldn't agree more. Even for someone with very strong emotional health, repeated stalking, attacking, ridicule and constant invasion can drive that person to extreme, tragic ends. (Probably why the CIA uses similar methods to break people down)

You don't have to start off mentally broken to end up there after being bullied. And factor in that this victim was 12-year-old girl. Gah. I would NEVER want to be 12 again and my experience was not even an especially bad one.

And LinasK, I am sorry you were bullied. I wish we'd have been school chums. i'm not a fighter, but I'm pretty scrappy when it comes to protecting my friends. (Hugs):loveyou:

Is she charged with assaulting Rebecca or her own evil spawn? Neither would shock me.

I read it at first that she was being charged as an accessory in Rebecca's death. Then I slowed down and read it again......:facepalm:


ETA: holy cow! The spawn's mom is only 30???????? No offense to any teen moms here (I know we have a few!), but this may explain sone of the questionable parenting.......

According to the sheriff's department, Vosburg's charges stem from a video posted on Facebook. In the video, she was reportedly involved in a physical altercation with kids.

Today, Vosburg has been charged with 2 counts of Child Abuse with Bodily Harm and 4 counts of child neglect. Her charges aren't related to her daughter's charges of felony aggravated stalking.

I know! I used to watch her all of the time when she covered these kinds of cases, but after she got more political in her theme, and away from crime beat, I quit watching.

She is so much better at asking pertinent questions than is NG. And easier on the ears.

She then admitted to punching one juvenile in the face and another juvenile several times on the back of his head and in between his shoulders.
She said she continued to hit one juvenile after the other fell on the floor, because he was attempting to get up from the bed.

I like this Sherrif. I just do. He feels for the victim. His people probably saw the child lying dead under a bridge. She is DEAD.

I bet the mom DID monitor the Facebook. And I bet she had no problem with it whatsoever. My daughter who is 17 has a classmate, who in 7th grade had a whole album titled "weed" on her FB. Now her twitter is full of pics of her pipe, talk about suitcases full of weed, that is all she is still talking about. She tweeted that her suitcase for vacation smelled like weed. I wondered how her parents could not know about all of this, until my daughter told me the girl smokes WITH her dad. I think we see these kids through our own perspective. A lot of these delinquent kids have parents that could care less.

I get that, I do: but I was an OLD mom, and I think that although it's probable that many criminals come from teen moms, as many come from "average" or older aged parents. But I have no data to back that up. Just a hunch.

I guess I meant in general that a young, teen mother is less equipped to make good parenting choices and is, in effect, a child herself.

Recent brain research suggests that human brain development is not complete until about age 24, with the cerebral cortex (which controls executive function) being the last area to become myelinated, and therefore firing on all cylinders, so to speak.

And as with everything on Earth, there are exceptions to all rules. I know many amazing women from this forum who became moms as teens and are the kind of parent I only hope to be. :loveyou:

But in this instance, yes. It appears that mom is still living through her own tumultuous adolescence. Explains why her bully of a child is as she is.

Even worse than their(NG and JVM) grating voices, rude manner and incessantly inserting their own personal lives into EVERY SINGLE CASE, is the fact that they get all the facts wrong. And before I joined WS, I had no idea. Now, I am stunned at the lack of research and fact checking done before they go to air.

Greta just seems real. She ASKS questions rather than screams her own misinformed zingers.

Sorry for the OT, just glad to see Greta back doing the stories that she does so well.

Greta covering a case is usually good news for the victim or their families.
