How in the world can she be missing over a year & no one report her missing? School, family, friends, neighbors etc... none of them noticed?
So hearbreaking.

Mom probably had a ready answer and sibs were told what to say too. " She is with her father/grandparents/CPS/Auntie...etc etc"

For the second time this week, the body of a child has been discovered. Police in Bradenton confirm to us that they believe they have found the body of 11-year-old Janiya Thomas. The latest at 11.

Bradenton police have confirmed that the body of a child has been discovered in Manatee County.

Investigators suspect it could be the body of missing 11 year-old Janiya Thomas. Authorities searched a relative's home earlier today, where the body was found. Authorities are not revealing the location of that home.

I've not read/heard of this case.....I'll have to go look/read it....

It was a heartbreaking case that many followed here. Sweet little Jhessye was cared for by her cousins because her bio mom was in prison for chid abuse. She was very loved and well taken care of.

When she was 5 her bio mom came out of prison and manipulated the system by moving across state lines. The grandmother demanded custody of little Jhessye and then she gave her back to her wicked daughter. Soon, Jhessye was being locked in a closet and beaten. She ended up dumped in a trash dumpster. The only good thing is bio Mom was found Guilty.

Police spokesman Lt. James Racky said a family member called authorities about 7:15 p.m. Sunday to report that the girl's body was in a Manatee County home. The home's address was not immediately released, but he was planning to provide more information at a news conference late Sunday at the Royal Palms movie theater.

Racktiy said investigators were waiting for the arrival of a search warrant to enter the home. If investigators are not able to identify the body by sight, they will have to wait for identification by the medical examiner's office to confirm that Janiya is dead.

A child that no relative loved enough to miss for a year. A child that no teacher worried for. S child that no neighbor wondered about. I'm so sad for Janiya. It seems like this forum may be the most attention that she has ever gotten.
I wish I was exaggerating right now, but I don't think I am. I'm sorry that the world seemed so indifferent to her life. She matters to us.

So, I'm having a hard time with the idea that a relative has had the body of this poor child for that long. They must have known. Are they involved with her death? They must have known. I wonder who called with the information. This is so awful.
