I would have looked at her and said, "Maybe in the country your from shouting is ok in the emergency room, but us Americans find it disturbing."

You're not someone who believes it's better to be with anyone than to be alone.

Is <mod snip> the new :censored: ? :waitasec:

I think he's being sarcastic. I think he's peeved that people automatically assume it must have been him for holding up the conviction.

Still, if that's true, meaning if he thought he saw a gun, you can't let him off. We can't kill people because we "THINK" they have a weapon.

No offense to a lot of gun owners, but I thought that was just common sense. I'd read an article about that a month ago. Unfortunately, a lot of gun owners own them because of paranoia. I don't know anyone who's ever had to use a gun for self defense. One of my best friends was almost killed by his father because he went downstairs for a midnight snack. His dad heard him downstairs and when my friend turned to come up the stairs his father was holding a gun pointing down the steps at him. Fortunately, his dad had enough sense to ask who goes there.

BBM ~ MD did not have to chase after the SUV, shooting like a vigilante. That instantly turned it from self-defense to premeditation. :moo:

Perhaps this is why the juror would not budge on her decision.

Yelling and screaming....

Yoikes!

I was yelled at by a guy on my jury. He started giving us his theory of why we should find certain defendants (It was a multiple defendant trial) guilty or not guilty based on sentences, you can't do that. You are not allowed to consider sentences in deliberations. When he finished I told him we can't consider sentences. He screamed at me that I was always putting down his opinions.. Later on he said the same thing and another juror told him we weren't allowed to consider sentences too. He didn't say anything to her. What's weird is that we ended up convicting just the way he wanted us to, but we did it because it followed law.

I sincerely do not agree with the recent idea that Dunn was overcharged. On what grounds are people saying this? It seems after a disappointing verdict this is the complaint dujour. But how does what Dunn did at least not qualify for premeditated first degree murder? And how is overcharging even an issue at all when the jury still has the option to convict of a lesser included if they too feel that the defendant is being overcharged?

Lol. She wasn't yelling but she was talking in that passive aggressively loud way people do when they want you to hear what they're saying without actually having to address you directly. Ugh. I think if people are going to assume something about you, they should make sure of it first before making their ignorant comments.

Or shooting you.

I worked with a girl of Mexican descent at the hospital. She was born in this country. She got on the elevator one day talking to someone and another passenger told her she spoke English very well. :banghead:

Lol, I'd be like, "I know, right?"

I actually used to get discriminated against at work by other Mexicans because I was Mexican and didn't speak Spanish. It was like cultural limbo.
