I know. But we will never know if CPS was ever involved. If Maddie didn’t disclose to CPs directly it prob wouldn’t have mattered if someone had called them anyhow. Stupid system protects offenders more than children!!

Even if the CPS investigation didnt turn up anything - dont think would, if MS did not talk, it took FBI level forensic electrinics to unciver the truth.

My 2nd reply because I tried to find the parts on the video I was talking about. The times are a rough estimate of where you can fast forward to hear those parts.

58:00:00 (Josh Part 1) Josh was divorcing and SS then tried to get together or hit on Josh's ex. Josh thought he'd rather his kids be around someone he knows like SS. This was about two yrs. ago, and Josh now realizes he didn't know SS as well as he thought, and that would've been the same times SS was making videos of his SA of MS.

1:02:39 Josh is convinced there's more to the story, and that the more has something to do with the Mom (JS). I think he felt as most of us did that the interviews made him suspicious that there is more to this story. Remember Josh did meet Jen and knew things about the one & off relationship that SS shared with him.

1:02:42 Josh did meet Madeline. He went there with his kids, and she taught them how to play Astro Bot. (an older game I guess) That was the game I couldn't remember. Josh answers that he met Madeline "briefly", then just says "yeah". It still strikes me as an odd not saying something more. MOO though

1:03:00 When Jen was there, Josh says she was all over the place in moods. It sounded like fast cycling moods.

1:15:39 Josh visited them and it was a condo, but family was there and they had to go upstairs to JS & SS room to visit.

1:17:00 SS tells Josh about SS & JS's Bedroom Activities, and that's how Josh forms an opinion that JS is up for some wildness in the BR. That is when Josh speculates if all three...​

If it was suicide, maybe MS left a letter or a text message. SS found it and freaked out because she had blamed him in the message.
He could have told JS it was because of her, and he wouldn't let her read the message because 'he didn't want it to hurt her' (I'm still of the belief that he manipulated JS for years, using her worries against her).

I think they did a deep dive on his phone because when he handed it over he said he had accidentally factory reset on the day MS went missing. If they had no suspicion of him at that point, they did as soon as he uttered those words.

I think they were suspicious when they had him go with them to show them where he said he dropped her off - he told the media about how the cams were not helpful because of where they were aimed. Imagine what he may have said to LE on the drive there and back and whilst looking up and down the road?

I’m hoping that while they occupied him by taking him out to the parking lot that LE interviewed mom and noted any other inconsistencies between the he said / she said.

It's almost like he just wanted his five minutes of fame. I knew him, yeh, he was this and that, (asked about MS), yeh, she taught my kid some game.

He probably spend less than 10 seconds with her, MS was likely sent off to play with the kids, then left when SS left.
He wants his five minutes.

So why didn't he say something more about Madeline like she was a nice kid, or anything about her? It would've been appropriate to say something like that. He got silent as though he didn't want to say what he thought about her. MOO only.

Listen, he may want his 15 minutes of fame, but he knew SS well for years, he did actually meet JS and apparently was her Facebook friend, and he met Madeline, so I'll listen to what he wants to share and not disregard it so easily.

I don't have anybody in Jenn's past wanting to talk yet, but I'm waiting. Hearing from SS's friends gave me some insight into SS's character in all kinds of ways like his relationship with his mother. I don't care if he wants 15 minutes of fame as long as he doesn't make up stuff and shares what he can.

Why didn't he say more about MS? Many possibilities. Maybe his kids didn't like her. Maybe he thought she was rude or some other criticism of her that he didn't want to share. All MOO and just giving possible reasons. ​

Surprises me that so many want to go over the same speculations, and yet not take advantage of listening to people who actually knew SS. It can also help form a rough timeline of the relationship between SS & JS. Remember, it was Frank that first said they weren't living together all that time. On the potential suicide question, I wanted to be sure because I know by some definitions suicide is considered homicide, but: the medical examiner with jurisdiction considers suicide and homicide to be separate, so in saying the manner of death is homicide that means it was not a suicide.

I was looking for a nice list of possible manners of death like some other coroners’ offices have, but that would be too easy. Regardless, Florida certificates of death list the following possible manners of death: natural, accident, suicide, homicide, pending investigation, undetermined

I wouldn’t be surprised if SS brought up the “accidental reset” apropos of little to nothing and then handed it over when they asked. Bravado and stupidity do a dumb criminal make. Just a speculation, of course.

This is JMO, but I felt like the friends of SS were all weird, except Ryan, the one who knew SS as a younger teen and then cut contact.

I don't discount what they shared based on them seeming like guys I wouldn't personally choose to hang out with, but the kinds of things they shared about themselves and their friendships with SS made me a bit uncomfortable listening in general at times.

So, I take not saying anything kind about MS in that context. He'a also kind of a strange seeming, guy a bit socially different, IMO. Probably in shock also. and in some ways I felt the friends were also making some excuses for SS and maybe for themselves for not noticing what he was really capable of? It could be something along those lines. Maybe he even feels guilty for not picking up on things?

Another thing I noticed throughout ALL of the interviews is some weird almost blaming of MS by different people. Some of the callers suggesting crap like MS could have been "groomed so well that she was in love with SS". Her own mom, JS seems to focus more on telling is what was "wrong" with MS--"She is forgetful, she has ADHD, she wanted to do ____". It get a weird feeling from most of the people we "know" in this case. They're all connected to one another via SS, so makes sense to me....

Really, the person who said the nicest things about MS, was SS when he was putting on his act. How sick and twisted is THAT?

If you listen to it again, after "yeah", there is a slight pause, and his next thought could very well have been edited out if he said something inappropriate. At the same time, it sounds like the host took him immediately in a different direction with his next question. MOO but seems like Josh has smoked too much pot over the years to say anything refined about MS. Weird! IMO.

Mina doesn’t say that though. If you listen to his answer, he says “we believed she died in Kissimmee “.
The author of the article infers Mina is saying that.
He very well may be, but he doesn’t actually says “home”.

If MS died somewhere public though, like a hotel, given all of the publicity in this case, doesn't it seem likely a hotel desk clerk or someone would have come forward saying they saw SS, at minimum, if not SS and MS?

And wouldn't there have likely been some kind of camera footage as well? That would seem pretty damning. I usually follow the really old cases here on Websleuths, but I know from just watching the news there have been other terrible guys like SS caught because they were carrying kids in/out of hotels on camera.

I understand why people are mulling over this as a theory, but it doesn't seem especially likely.

It may be possible MS died in another residence though.

I don't feel we're especially clear as to where SS, JS and MS were following the birthday party.

We know SS was on camera several times doing various things Monday morning, and MS was also on camera, most likely already deceased around 8:19 am. We know SS had the flat tire and was seen by someone (alone) around apparently changing the flat 1:30 pm by a shipping container right across from the area MS remains were found. (per recent Gray Hughes vids.)

We have no idea where JS was until she went to the school to go get MS, or really until she was in contact with LE. Everything she says about her whereabouts and timelines is from her own statements AFAIK.
