The judge said he couldn't provide jurors with an example, but came up with an answer -- saying willful encouragement and support would mean Salman participated in a crime she wished to succeed and that her actions helped it in succeeding. #SalmanTrial

Also: Prosecutor Roger Handberg said he has a redacted evidence list, since jurors asked for one yesterday. Byron said he'd give the defense a chance to do the same for their exhibits, but cautioned attorneys that sending a list with errors could raise red flags for jurors.

Noor Salman is in court as the jury deliberates her verdict. She's been in prison for 14 months and if she is found not guilty on both charges, her uncle says he'll get her on the "fastest plane to Califorinia" to reunite her with her son. #SalmanTrial

Jurors focus on statement in trial of Pulse shooter's wife

"ORLANDO, FLA.
Jurors deliberating the fate of the Orlando nightclub shooter's wife took a closer look at the statement she made to FBI agents in the hours after the attack that killed 49 people in 2016.

After a couple of hours of discussions, jurors asked to review Noor Salman's statement and the judge printed out copies for them. They will resume discussions Thursday morning.

Her attorneys fought to keep the statement out of the trial. They say it was coerced and she signed it because she was tired and feared losing her young son.

Prosecutors said the statement showed she knew about Omar Mateen's attack and did nothing to stop it....

Jurors asked to review the FBI statement a couple of hours into their deliberations and a judge printed off copies for them. Before the trial, defense attorneys unsuccessfully argued that the statement should be tossed.

The jurors also asked a question about an index of evidence and about the wording on one of the charges Salman faces. The judge refused to provide an index but did clarify the wording...."

" Salman participated in a crime she wished to succeed"

:dunno: if I was on jury if it could be differentiated from her supporting it was to succeed, for a terrorist organization, verses supporting her husband.

:dunno:

Outcome on this trial, but iffy

MoreNearly eight hours into deliberations, no word yet of a verdict in the #NoorSalman trial.

Our only glimpses of the jury's work will come from their questions. Some details here on what they've asked so far:

We had a question asking if longer deliberations indicate a verdict in favor of the defendant. News 6 legal expert Mark O'Mara says it's not an exact science. The longer deliberation could indicate one or two jurors who are holding out. Any questions? Tweet us! -@EMSpeck

Small update: At 5 p.m. Judge Byron will check in with the jury and see if they are close to a verdict. If they are close to a decision the court will stay open until they are done, if not we all go home for the day and return tomorrow at 9 a.m.

The Noor Salman jury is going to keep deliberating for another hour today. We don’t know if that means they’re close to a verdict or just want to finish a discussion.

Interesting.

It is a tricky trial. If the jurors would not get caught up in semantics and look at the "spirit" of why these laws were written then they should clearly see she is guilty IMO. The problem is the terminology of the laws is a little confusing and I could see it going the other way too.

All I know is she knew what was going to happen and did nothing to stop it and a bunch of people are dead because of it. Which tells me she was happy with what was about to happen. And she even took some actions to assist him like telling him how to handle the call from his Mom if she called. And taking rides with him to most likely scope out places.

And even racking up a bunch of bogus credit card purchases knowing the end was coming. This part is probably another charge like credit card fraud but it shows her knowledge of the events about to happen.

I hope she has been happy in jail for the past months and I hope the jury sees through the red tape of this one.

Darn. Oh well. Maybe they will more clearly see things tomorrow. Or not. LOL

I have to think the longer this goes on the better for the defense in this particular case.

Oh well. Thanks for keeping track of this trial for us Yes/No

Yeah, following directions of the law, I see it going to she will be found not guilty. But as you say, it is following the law. Unless there is jury nullification and I don't see that happening.

Far-Right Activist Thrown Out Of Courthouse At Pulse Nightclub Trial
Activist Laura Loomer harassed relatives of the shooter’s widow with questions about jihad and Easter eggs.

"ORLANDO, Fla. — A far-right provocateur on Thursday was escorted from the federal courthouse where the Pulse nightclub shooter’s widow, Noor Salman, awaits a jury’s verdict on charges of aiding the mass shooting.

Laura Loomer’s media credentials were revoked the previous day after she harassed the defendant’s family outside the courthouse with questions about Muslims, jihad and Easter. She returned on Thursday and was removed by a U.S. marshal....

Loomer, a conspiracy theorist who was banned from Uber and Lyft in 2017 after she went on an virulent tirade about Muslim drivers, was among the gaggle of reporters.

“You said her son wants to color Easter eggs ― but isn’t Noor Salman Muslim? Why is she celebrating Easter?” Loomer asked.

“We believe in all religions,” Salman’s cousin, Susan Adieh, said.

Loomer continued pushing. “Do most Muslims color Easter eggs?” she asked.

“I’m a Muslim and my kids, they color Easter eggs,” Adieh replied.

As the family walked across the street and into the parking lot, Loomer followed, recording with her phone. She repeatedly asked them if jihad means an act of Islamic terrorism. Clary, the family spokesperson, said they weren’t making any more comments.

“She stuck her phone in their faces,” Clary said of Loomer.

An email from the court later in the day said a reporter had lost their media credentials and was banned from the courthouse after engaging “in highly inappropriate behavior with the Defendant’s family members outside the courthouse.”..."
