I watched a young man talk about steroids and, wow, he literally said that they had made him feel immortal and have a God-like sense of superiority.

I'm thinking somebody said something about "strong" iced tea. Maybe Austin drank that and was planning on ordering a different drink. He was thirsty, the waiter wasn't coming around, and could be he had no water. I know plenty of places that don't bring water to the table unless you ask for it. Other than that, I can't see any significant ties to him drinking something caustic at the scene of the crime. I could be missing something, but I only see a thirst connection at this time.

BBM:
The results of a search warrant, which sheriff's officials released Wednesday, yielded a corkscrew, a 1.75-liter bottle of Dewar's scotch, a possibly bloody sock, a red hat, a pair of Nike sneakers, blue liquid from an iced tea bottle and a pair of white socks from the garage sofa.

I have watched a few documentaries now. Love the BBC :)

major organ damage & death from legal highs, Is this what AH looks like in the hospital?

Very informative and sad. A few years ago, one of the news shows had somebody working under cover for them, ordering prescription meds under the table, so to speak. After several phone interactions, this oriental woman offered a partnership to this undercover guy. At the time, they were able to learn about the meds and their production. some things were totally ineffective, containing no medication. Some were contaminated by the inactive ingredients used as fillers, not being sanitary, and some even coated with lead paint.
I noticed several of the things in the synthetics that raised red flags, including the one called piperazine. That particular substance is what people can buy at the grocery store to treat their dogs and cats for roundworms! And, it is a waste of money, it is not an affective product for roundworms. And I really don't know if it is good for anything. Nevertheless, I wouldn't put the junk in my system!
And yes, Austin could have or may still look similar to the people in the show who are hooked up to life support. Scary thing for family members to see.

Wiper fluid, Windex, Gatorade, laundry detergent...
There are plenty of laundry supplies that are blue, however I don't think any would be considered caustic. Pretty thick and I would think the main reactions from drinking something like that would be major nausea, and possibly a sore throat and irritated mouth and nose if it was aromatic, like GAIN. For me personally, gain is too aromatic for me. If I am around it for very long it will give me a headache.

Some toilet bowl cleaners. Aren't some drain cleaners blue as well?

ETA. Windshield washer fluid

Yes, drain cleaners would be considered caustic. Toilet bowl cleaners probably are also. I don't use a special bowl cleaner, I use Comet or Ajax.

I missed the pics with this old article. One shows the cleaning crew working inside the driver's area of a vehicle.

Earlier in this thread we were trying to determine if the pics of the garage were before or after the attack. I found them attacked to an article that says they were from Tuesday morning (after the attack).
I too, thought I had seen the car door open and being cleaned! I didn't remember where I had seen it, tho.

Thanks. They sure are inside the car in photo #7. This makes me wonder if AH got in the car. I suppose he could've even found liquid to drink in there. CARIIS brought up the inside of the car and how it might relate to the timeline of the attacks. This is another part of the mystery.

Some antifreeze is blue also, bmm

Antifreeze is typically green, occasionally orange for some cars (GMs I think)....it might exist specifically for some makes and models, but I can't say I've ever seen it.

But for a blue liquid in a garage, it really could be anything.

Personally, I cannot transfer any liquids into another container without labeling them. It's so against my nature to even consider transferring a dangerous substance into say an iced tea bottle without a big warning label. I also have a hard time going against the warnings and cutting the labels off pillows or electrically cords.

It irks me that the blue liquid wasn't identified. How do I know the scotch bottle actually contained scotch? The blue liquid could be a red herring for all I know. AH could've drank something else that was in an actual labeled bottle, but he didn't care or read the label. He didn't necessarily drink something blue. JMO

I agree. Just because there was a blue substance in a bottle doesn't necessarily mean that was the bottle Austin drank out of. He could have picked up one of maybe a half dozen or more different bottles to drink out of. And since there has been no word on what he drank, we won't know until we get a report

I was just cleaning in the garage (yep, great fun) and happened to notice a bottle of windshield cleaner that is very blue and apparently extremely dangerous. It contains methanol.

Windshield washer fluid is a brightly colored liquid made of methanol, a poisonous alcohol. Sometimes small amounts of other toxic alcohols such as ethylene glycol are added to the mixture.

Methanol, the main ingredient in windshield washing fluid, is extremely poisonous. As little as 2 tablespoons can be deadly to a child. About 2 to 8 ounces can be deadly for an adult. Blindness is common and often permanent despite medical care.

The ultimate outcome depends on how much poison was swallowed and how soon treatment was received

It'll be a month on Thursday. Austin has not been formally charged yet. The tox results aren't in. What is really concerning is he hasn't been released from the hospital. At first I'll admit, I thought the media and his father were exaggerating his dire condition, but I now think it's possible Austin is suffering permanent damage of some kind.

It seems like a long hospital stay to me. Do you all agree? LE hasn't even questioned him yet. All this time, LE has had an officer there? Would he be allowed to talk to his attorney during this time?

Obviously a month is a long time to be in a hospital. LE tried to question him but he wasn't talking (sounds like he wasn't able to talk). Some tox screen results for most common drugs are in-they didn't find any. FBI is doing more complicated tests -so it could take a while.
