Seems to be quite a bit of misdirection in this case. EG has to be considered the prime suspect, IMO. Was he ever questioned by Police ?
Far! Pompano Beach to Live Oak (my current neck of the woods) is 375 miles.Old story about the disappearance: old story about the disappearance: *How far is North Florida?
Florida from its most southern point (not the keys) to the most Northern point is probably a 6-7 hour drive, but then the panhandle goes west for another three hours or so.Old story about the disappearance: old story about the disappearance: *How far is North Florida?
BUT it is basically a route they could take if going between Pompano Beach and Live Oak if avoiding the interstate. Especially if navigating by paper maps. And I think these are reasonable assumptions to make given their ages and the times. Heck- I have a sibling in her 50s who has never, not once ever- driven on an interstate highway.Wow! If it is their Vega it's 4+ hours away from their last location.
Well nuts!Update: Local officials tell

the 70's Chevrolet Vega associated with the disappearance of Peggy and Patty McDaniel has already been accounted for. There is not believed to be a connection to that case at this time.
Regarding Weeki Wachee connection, they have identified all but one male and one female. Othram is currently involved.I live a half mile from where the car was found. They can’t see it well, but they were able to take some parts from it to identify it as a 70’s Vega. Back in 79 the road was just a two lane road with fields and cows. There was a large subdivision close, but not close enough to have heard a car going into the water. The road back then also had a curve near the water. If they were in this area for some reason and went off the road at the curve, their car would end up exactly where this particular car has been found. The newspaper article in a previous post mentioned four women found on a man’s property. Two have not been identified, although it didn’t seem like they think it is the girls. However, the man’s property is 50 minutes north of where the car is and back in the late 70s the two lane road was frequently used to go north to that area and others north of Tampa bay. The sonar group that found the car were looking for a missing woman, Brenda Starr, who disappeared in 95’ after dropping off her daughter at our nearby elementary school.
